Sorry, a bunch of text got deleted. Volneer, knowing the danger undead pose, runs backward thirty feet and casts chill touch on the ghoul, getting * to hit for * damage.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
If the readied action is my bonus or reaction, then on my action, I am going to try a shove to push with my shield and create a closed space for the assailants to be taken down in the northern corridor, contained by Dorn and Aria. So, my turn is a strike and then a shove.
Not sure the correct roll for this. But, I'm assuming something like STR or Athletics (both are +2)

I'm hoping to contain these two disease spreaders and then we can all double back and take out the other.
Calim was prepared ... as soon as the creature stepped within the range of his handaxe ... he let loose!
Volneer's cantrip struck from afar, the skeletal hand all but choking out the blind cannibal.
But it was Kneecap's hammer blow that felled the creature for good.
With a sickening squelch, the grimlock's body convulsed, contorted limbs twitching as if caught in unseen torment. It fell, senseless to the flagstone floor. Then, with a violent burst, the chest cavity of the grimlock burst open, revealing a tangled mess of fungal tendrils unfurling and whipping forth from the gaping wound! The grimlock had been infected with some sort of terrible, purple fungus that was now spewing forth from — literally crawling out of — its remains.
This new opponent had four whip-like stalks, crowned with grotesque, bloated caps that swayed ominously in the dim light.
The air of the abattoir was already thick with the acrid scent of decay, mingled now with the sickly overpoweringly sweet aroma of the fungus. The tendrils of the hideous thing writhed and squirmed with a sickening, glistening wetness.
Dorn and Calim, by this point had committed their energies to attacking the sole remaining grimlock. The paladin's dagger flung end over end and struck true ... and the older warrior gave the degenerate cannibal a powerful shove ... knocking it back.
Init On the Grimlock's init from last round, Calim's readied action was triggered.
Calim - Reaction (attack) from last round. Attack G1. A hit! (5hp)
round ends/new round begins 12 - Volneer. [09/09hp] Move Chill Touch vs G1. A hit! (4hp) 10 - Aria. [09/09hp] Move. Ready. 5 - Kneecap. [12/12hp] Move. Attack G1. A hit! (10hp, killing it) 3 - Dorn. [10/12hp] Move. Ranged attack vs G2. A miss (then Luck Point to reroll ... a hit!) (6hp) 2 - Calim. [11/12hp] Shove. 22 vs 16, a success. G2 is shoved 5' back. 2 - Ghoul. [22/22hp] Surprised. 2 - Grimlock 1 [00/11hp] Dead. A fungus monster burst out of the remains! 2 - Grimlock 2 [05/11hp] Surprised. 2 - Fungus 1 [18/18hp] Surprised.
The red dot is a torch being held aloft by Volneer's mage hand*, and Aria has a lantern that is emitting dim light in a 5' radius. Other than that, it is completely dark.
*(I messed up last round and let Volneer move more than 30' away from the mage hand without having the spell fail. I will handwave the requirement for that last round, but the spell will fail if it becomes separated from the sorcerer by more than 30' again.)
Calim's hope to divide and conquer seems to be working, at least well enough. He steps around the tissue of the dispatched fungus and posts at the far side of the door awaiting the second Gridlock's attack. He is poised again, ready to sink his Handaxe into the fiend's flesh.
I think I counted right and the Fungus is down. If it isn't apply this attack to it.
Not sure how to post my attacks and damage through the character sheet dice roller yet. But, I got 16 to hit and 6 damage. I'm thinking you can look back at the log to confirm?
A trio of attacks on the terrible fungus and it was no more. Volneer's fire bolt and Kneecap's hammer blow injured the beast ... but it was the paladin's blade that finally killed it.
Stepping into the room, Calim brought the fight to the second infected grimlock and dropped it with a deft strike of his handaxe. Another terrible purple fungus monster burst out of the grimlock's remains!
The ghoul and the fungus attacked Calim! The ghoul swiped with his claws and hit! (5 slashing), and then the fungus followed suit with a grievous strike from one of its four tentacle-like stalks. (a critical hit, 12 necrotic damage)
Calim fell over, senseless!
The red dot is a torch being held by Volneer's mage hand, and Aria has uncovered her lantern Init 12 - Volneer. [09/09hp] Move. Fire Bolt vs F1. A hit! (1hp) 10 - Aria. [09/09hp] Unhoods lantern. 5 - Kneecap. [12/12hp] Attack F1. A hit! (8hp) 3 - Dorn. [10/12hp] Move. Attack F1. A critical hit! (9hp, killing it) 2 - Calim. [00/12hp] Move. Attack G2. A hit! (6hp, killing it) 2 - Ghoul. [22/22hp] Move. Attack Calim. A hit. (5hp) 2 - Grimlock 2 [00/11hp] Dead. 2 - Fungus 1 [00/18hp] Dead. 2 - Fungus 2 [18/18hp] Make 1 attack vs Calim. A critical hit! (12 necrotic, dropping Calim to 0hp) -->Calim drops, and is unconscious and prone. @Calim, please roll a CON save [DC10] as well or be paralyzed for one minute. If Calim begins his turn with 0hp remaining, he will need to make a death saving throw as well.
Volneer charges toward the ghoul, launching a spectral hand towards it. The hand, shrouded in darkness, grasps towards the ghoul, grabbing at it's face.
OOC: move next to Calim, stay 5 feet away from the ghoul and fungus, and chill touch the ghoul. 9 to hit, 4 damage(The second roll was an accident.).
Kneecap says, "Let's get these bastards away from Calim so I can get him on his feet!" and moves to the square to the right of the fungus. (OOC: Should not provoke any OA and movement should be fine) and attack the Fungus with his Warhammer.
“Youre not dying yet friend!” Dorn will grapple Callim and move the remainder of his distance, dragging callim back into the north section of the hall. STR check 15 if needed
I got 6 for my CON saving throw. So, I am paralyzed.
First Death Save is 15.
Thank you all for keeping me safe. Hoping that I will live to see this fight through

IC - As Calim's visions faded to grey, two thoughts darted through his mind. One, he would never meet his grandchild. The second, he hoped he would not be reduced to spare parts and fed to some gathering ooze....though perhaps that was his deserved fate...forgotten.
Dorn and Aria worked together to drag the unconscious Calim from the fracas. The fungus monster's whiplike tendrils snapped through the air ... but the knight was not hit during the maneuver.
Aria, for her part, looked shook. "Gods help us, what do we do!?" She implored her mentor.
Volneer and Kneecap kept up the offensive. Volneer's necrotic charm failed to clasp onto the foul ghoul cultist, but Kneecap managed to give the fungus a wallop.
The opponents returned the heroes affection in kind. The ghoul closed in for a bite but did not harm the sturdy dwarf. The fungus monster went into a frenzy, however, and both the sorcerer and the cleric were on the receiving end of the vine like tendrils. A sticky, rotten sort of sap was left behind after coming into contact with a portion of the foul mushroom ... and the heroes' skin began to welt up immendiately.
Init 12 - Volneer. [03/09hp] Move. Chill Touch vs Ghoul. A miss. 10 - Aria. [09/09hp] Assists Dorn. 5 - Kneecap. [10/12hp] Attack F1. A hit! (5hp) 3 - Dorn. [10/12hp] Move. Drag Calim to safety* -->Dorn triggers an Opportunity Attack by moving beyond the fungus' 10-foot reach. A miss! 2 - Calim. [00/12hp] Unconscious. Prone. Paralyzed. Death saves [1P/0F] 2 - Ghoul. [22/22hp] Bite vs Kneecap. A miss. 2 - Fungus 2 [13/18hp] Makes 4 attacks. -->#1 vs Volneer. A hit. (6hp necrotic) -->#2 vs Kneecap. A miss. -->#3 vs Kneecap. A hit. (2hp necrotic) -->#4 vs kneecap. A miss.
*Dorn attempted to drag a weight in excess of his carrying capacity, which would have limited his movement to 5'. I ruled that Aria could help, so in effect, they pooled their carrying capacities for this action ... allowing more than 5' of dragged movement.
The fungus monster, as the heroes just painfully learned, has a 10-foot reach.
Ongoing effect. Calim is paralyzed [9 rounds remaining]
Dorn grasps Callim and rapidly hauls his body away from the whipping tendrils of the fungus, so a safer spot. Trusting that the others will spare him enough time, he beckons Aria to assist him in administering first aid. "Escadura, you must focus now, remove my pack, and set it next to me. Retrieve some water, and find some fabric; quickly now." Dorn will quickly assess Callim's condition. "You are being measured on the great scales, blacksmith. The Even-Handed is watching, and his holy servant will do all he can to make sure you are found in balance." Dorn will begin tearing strips from his blanket to wrap over the wounds made by the ghouls claws, and will pour out some water from his waterskin across Callie's swollen and bruised forehead, where the fungus rendered him unconscious.
Dorn will attempt to stabilize (With advantage if Aria assists). Medicine check 13 (ADV roll 7)
Seeing that Dorn and Aria are focused on stabilizing Calim safely away, for now, from the ghoul and fungus monster, Kneecap pressed the attack. Calling to Volneer he shouts, “Focus on the fungus first, let’s bring it down so you’ll be able to back up without those tendrils hitting you!”
Volneer groans as the vile magic seeps into him. He raises his hand and fires a blast of fire into the fungus, burning it to a crisp. He then stumbles forward five feet.
OOC: fire bolt the fungus, 24 to hit, 8 fire damage.
P. S. I don't know why it won't let me change color...
Trying this again.
Initiative Roll - 2

Volneer, knowing the danger that undead pose, casts chill touch. To hit, 24 damage: 1 damage.

Dorn will move between Aria and the Fungus, drawing and slashing with his Rapier, hoping to give this thing a haircut.
24 to hit, with 9 Critical Slashing Damage Via Roll on Character sheet.
“Monsters inside of monsters!” Kneecap exclaims, then attempts to smash the fungus with his Warhammer.
