There are different views on player death, for sure. To me, it's the best part of D&D, and I think players invest more in their character if there's a possibility that they'll just cease to exist someday.
I've been playing since the "blue book" basic days, and the only stories that really stick with me are the heroic/tragic character deaths.
It's a bummer Faen's gone, especially being insta-killed when we hsve almost three healers in the party, but first level can be like that, and the wonder at what might have been is a cool part of the game.
If I get a vote, I say a wizard would be a great add to the party. With a cleric, a paladin, and a druid who'll soon be able to wild shape, well have plenty of characters who can take a beating.
I'm gonna eventually take the Circle of the Moon. So you gon have a serious damage sponge in front.
I'm thinking Evocation as my School, so my glass cannon thanks your druid for being just the sponge they need!
No. Forced movement does not trigger an Opportunity Attack.
PHB, pg195 — You also don't provoke an opportunity attack when you teleport or when someone or something moves you without using your movement, action, or reaction.
Yaudara however, will trigger an opportunity attack if he leaves the square he is currently sharing with the swarm. The swarm has a reach of 0'.
Ok. Kinda depends on Toadstool's rules question then. If I stay co-located with the spiders, would Toadstool hit me with his attack? If so, I'll move and risk their attack so he can hopefully finish them off. If not, I'll stay put.
If not, or if he'd only get disadvantage or something, I'll stay put and try to not effectively get attacked twice by the spiders.

No worries, I have a plan that doesn't involve bonking
Hey DM - Toadstool wants to bonk spiders, but doesn't want to bonk Yaudara. If he bonks spiders, does Yaudara also gets bonked?
A melee attack has a target (in this case, a creature) not an area of effect.
Two tiny creatures could occupy the same square and you could attack one of them with your staff ... just as you would be able to torch them both with burning hands.
The swarm and Yaudara occupying the same square is the same concept.

@Samhain28164 guess who inspired my latest tag (also the reveal of my dumb handwriting)
loved your last post. very poetic. it will live on somewhere along park ave and 59th street
Thank you so much. I'm incredibly honored that my writing inspired such an artistic expression. Very fitting for the last thoughts of a fey-touched bard.

May Faen live in all of our hearts.

What is surprising to me about 5e is the lack of additional spell slots for high intelligence. I'll run with it though, and I do like arcane recovery.
Yeah, I was thinking Find Familiar as well. Use Find Familiar to call a Tressym. Suddenly, we have Tara from BG3 as the curmudgeon party mascot.
Yep, plus they're great scouts, and can take the Help action each combat round to give advantage.
Unseen Servant is also lots of fun, but not quite as useful.

I can move, just to be safe. We'll see what the DM says.
DM, does the devil moving away from Ichep give Ichep an opportunity attack?

Ah, I missed the "and pins him to the wall" part of that grapple
Getting to pre-game a familiar. Going to be bringing a party mascot out of the box!

Eh, too late, already sent out the spider wasps
That is a bit of hyperbole. Pay particular attention to the IC fluff that accompanies posts (to then be compared against the round summaries).
Grappled ≠ Pinned
Yup, your actions are your own. I was just answering the question.

Ok, then I guess I won't move and provoke an opportunity attack, unless it's too late, in which case I'll take whatever comes.
