Initially I said that Rinn had cast Mage Armor when things started to feel suspicious, but then I realized that you also said to hold off on actions ...
Mage Armor has a very long duration (8hrs). I don't mind if you just say that Rinn will start the adventuring day with that one cast.
Just now saw this. Yeah, given the danger, I'll say it was cast already. I'll mark off the slot on Rinn's sheet
@MIglasezis, the actions proposed in the current round will not work. The bridge is 20' lower than the surface level of this encounter, so anyone standing on the bridge will not have line of sight to a target unless that target was right at the edge. Infestation requires you to see the target.
Here is another side view, this time using 5' squares:
20' deep, 15' wide ... if you were in the yellow square, you would have line of sight and could target the blue icon, but could not target the pink icon due to line of sight issues.
Hey Mr. DM - I wrote my new turn, but I really have doubts regarding the possibility to make the necessary distance to do the Infestation spell. Can you confirm the possibility of what I wrote? I understand that the bridge is lower, but it's quite hard to calculate the movement. If anything I'm willing to risk fall damage too, that's not an issue. Main goal is to dispose of the webbed Goblin ASAP
Ok, so the chasm is 15 feet wide regardless of the location as you said previously.
Looking at the jumping rules.
If my spider gets 10 feet running start (step back 10 feet) and then runs 10 feet forward and jumps, it can make 14 feet distance no problem. After that it starts falling, but as it has spider climb, it should be able to catch on the opposite wall and have some sort of movement still left. After that it could skitter up the other side.
How would you rule this one?
Did math:
So If my spider jumps from the edge, it almost gets to the edge at 15 feet. If it catches on, it's about 1.5 feet from the top. But given the size of the spider, it might even catch on to the other side with its legs. Depends from DC of course
Leaping 14' of a 15' chasm would result in a fall. So while RAW say the jump would not clear the distance, physics says that you would carry forward a bit and then hit the wall very early into the fall before falling too far.
(you would not, in other words, cross 99.9% of the distance, then completely stop all forward movement only to fall perfectly straight down within 1' of the wall, landing 50' later still within 1' of the wall)
Since the spider form has a climb speed, I think it would be very easy to arrive at the other side, hit the wall and then be able to grab purchase of some sort.
But since we said the word 'fall' and are talking about doing cinematic that has a slight risk of failure ... let's say that it will take a Strength (Athletics) check at DC5.
Success means reaching the other side, clinging to the wall just under the ledge at -5' elevation, and then remaining movement may be spent as desired.
Failure means reaching the other side, hitting it weird and not clinging to it whatsoever. That is, the spider will not be able to grab the wall and will fall.

Rinn, since Rachel goes first, can you have her walk into the snare, trigger it, and then bamf her out of it and back to you, so the snare goes away?
Alternatively, I could pick up a big rock and toss it in there, but handling a rock that weighs as much as I do (gotta be at least Small to trigger the trap) could take a Strength/Athletics check.
Speaking of Small, Rachel might actually be too small to trigger it...
For once, my Fire Bolt actually hits something lol.

So, tree is on fire, treehouse demolished and giant spider is in their face.
Let the bodies hit the floor, let the bodies hit the floor
@Miglasezis, this ranged web attack will occur just beyond the normal range of 30' but below the long range of 60'.
Anything beyond normal range but shy of the max range must be rolled at disadvantage.
Yeah, I already figured that I can't hit it within 30 feet, so I rolled one more. Still 18 total, so AFAIK the gobbo is webbed.
^^ Yup, gobbo is restrained, and on its turn will have to dedicate actions toward trying to free itself.
Starting with next round's actions, please also include a d6 throw to see if Toadstool's Giant Spider form has recharged its Web ability.

We ended up cross-posting. I answered your question just ahead of you asking it (See msg #788).
Ok, I will think of a different approach then.

I like those odds (go go lowrollers!!!!!).
So, hopefuly no issues with my stunt.
Anyway - this requires rule-of-cool XP points :D
Agreed. Toadstool may mark Inspiration.

^^ Knowing the trap is there, one can simply avoid it in the same manner as the goblin did.
I may not have described it well, but basically it is a 'don't step here' kind of situation.
Aha. Ok, if that's an option, I'll take my turn to point it out to the party and avoid it.
^^ Cool, cool. I would say a quick shouted warning does not rise to the level of an action.
Yaudara may call attention to the trap's existence and still perform an action.
