Smudge. Thank you for your kind words. Please know that nothing that you or this party has done was ever unkind. It’s just sometimes when I walk into a new village the townsfolk are less than enthused to see a 1/2 drow.
I show smudge my necklace prayer beads (4 beads one each of the lower level types (not summoning and not wind walk). So Blessing. Curing favor. Smite
I additionally share with party that I received two potions fire resistance and herioism from our gold dragon friend. Hopefullly these will help us
smudge and others you should also know that I now have a celestial familiar as well. Wanted you and yours to be aware so as not to cause any alarms Think we can call him Lars for now unless he has a better name to call him (Ooc celestial pact of chain imp)
Real grunts, “Celestial, as an Aasmirian im curious, as long as it is under your command or friendly to us I’ll have no problem. Seems I got the same stuff mostly. I am guessing the Dragon knows our future encounters. We likely Wil need to fight as one, a team tomorrow.”
Ral sets up for watch or sleep as needed.

Runok ruffles its feathers defensively when Petnan mentions his own familiar. Runok does not seem to like the other familiar at all. Darbakh sweeps his owl away, however, and begins setting up his own bedroll for the night.
“Ral, could I take first watch? I’m still writing notes from today and have so much to think about that I couldn’t possibly sleep. Lars, welcome to the group!”

The night goes uneventful for all of you. You do get used to your new abilities for the three that learned new stuff.
You get some breakfast in the morning and the usual morning routine for everyone. You all are a bit apprehensive about how the day will unfold possibly. You know the dragon has put you on a set path to deal with his issues for him, but they provided little on what you are going to be dealing with.
OOC - I would like to get a marching order and use of familiars and such before we move out.
Ral says, "I guess I can take the front or we can walk side by side perhaps. What do you folks think? Some of you have some new companions and we also have Runok still I believe."

Smudge moves his scholarly gear to the holding bag. Testing the now-lighter backpack, he determines it digs less into his shoulders, which pleases him. His morning prayer and spell review process focused on ways to help his counterparts and control any monsters they may come across. He was pleased by the staff of healing so memorized fewer healing spells. Ready, he said, “I’m ha, ha, ha, happy to go in the middle.”
Ooc are we traveling thru forest. Fields? May impact how we travel Trying to avoid a single spell taking us all out So suggesting we have 10 or so feet between us
and work on basic set of hand signals (see something, stop, cost clear etc)
Guess I’ll be somewhat in middle either 2nd or third
I'm thinking Lars is traveling invisible above us and flying in a circle so he can observe our front, sides, and rear And he is in his raven form so flying speed is 60. So should not have any problems keeping up
would assume we’re trying to be stealthy if possible.
The terrain will vary slightly depending on the encounter. Typically, it'll be forest unless the admin chooses different terrains for the setting. I haven't seen a dungeon setting using this format with the exception of a labyrinth and a tower type setting.
The party moves out and head along the path. You travel for an hour or so and up ahead it opens up a bit as you start to angle southward. The Imp and possibly Runok notice movement in what appears to be a graveyard.
Roll inititiative.....You have a preparation round before initiative starts though. You are 110 ft from the creatures at the moment. Darbakh's armor might alert the creatures should you advance further as a group.
Planning....

This is the map link....It is preliminary and just to get the basic layout set. I'll adjust positions for everyone one a plan of attack is established.
Planning: Do we want to leverage spells that have range 120? And soften them up and possible even make them move twds us Would give us 1-2 safe(er) combat rounds. And any damage we avoid will help save healings for later skermishes in the day
using eyes of eagle any of the four seems to have range weapons?
rolled a 15 for initiative.
Once we come up with plan Lars (still Invisible) raises to about 60 ‘ above me so as to get a great aerial view and watch the battlefields edges to ensure we know if anything else is approaching or if any possible danger areas.

Ic very low voice smudge. We really should write a how to adventure guide with advice on how to overcome monsters. Could be useful. Anyone ever see something wrapped in bandages before??
ooc. How do you want us to evaluate if our characters know anything about a particular monster.

If it matters. 23 (not natural) for perception check on cave
also on outside of cave would we be able to see things approaching us (Ie is it clear for 90,120,300’ )
ic: you all see me with an imp on my back walking around the cave.
(Ooc learning how to look through its eyes and senses)
also you see me going through backpack and inventory showing him what things are
we are also looking outside of cave entrance to see if we see anything of interest
(Ooc related to my looking outside my passive perception (17) is higher than my active roll of 10)
Certainly...I'll take second or as needed.

It seems the dragon did quite a bit of stuff as you all have inspiration now as well.
Inspiration is a mechanic in Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition that allows players to gain advantage on one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw. Here are some rules regarding Inspiration:
You have 1 inspiration on each of the next 4 encounters.
