Can I get Lars to fly around the dead tree east of the cross roads and around the trees to our west (south of the cross road intersection). Those could be good ambush points.
Through Lars’ eyes and ears you see the planned ambush party in whole. War orc, Ogre to the west. North Ogre trying to hide. To the South a goblin boss and two goblins.

Ic whispering and drawing map on ground. We have a lot more company here than orginallly thought.
anyone have ideas? I’ll throw one out. Lars and I go to where the two trees are and cast darkness over me and I then move out and Eldritch blast the two at cross roads taking out the big one first
if one of us can take the orbs on the right
and the other two take the ones on left
or. We can see if we can go back the way we came and see if we could end up on the area that is south west of where we currently are… the. Attack the group of three while others move to us?
Smudge pipes up, “I can take the three goblins. I have ways to hit more than one target at a time. I like your first idea. The Scroll of Strategy by Maestro Medici recommends attacking a trap when you know the trap in advance - he calls it the Reverse Surprise Manuever.” Smudge is a nerd so it was only surprising that he managed to even make the title of the tactic sound like he said it in italics.
Darbakh listens closely and studies the map drawn in the dirt. “So how many orcs are on the right?” he asks.
Ral looks over the map saying to all..."mmmm...I think it is one ogre to the north...A gob boss and 2 gobs to the south and an Orc war chief and ogre to the west. I ain't never fought no orc war chief or ogre before. Goblin yes. I even think gob boss. The boss can switch with the gobs if you are swinging at em. I have no idea about the others. It will be a shit storm once we get into melee Look for them to single out someone possibly. I can go wherever and fight em. The War chief and ogre combo might need a combo to take em on."

Any chance we can use the terrain to our advantage? Where is the best place in the map for us to defend/attack from and can we get there and then spring our trap?
Ral adds, "I doubt it, but what if we moved to attack the goblin boss and 2 goblins first. If we got rid of them there'd be just 3 left. Now they'd be the biggest ones, but we'd get rid of the gnats. If you know what I mean. I suppose we could go get the lone Ogre in the north and force the others to come up there to engage us and hope we dropped the ogre before they got there. What do you think? I like the first of these two..Get rid of the chumps."
Map in session for the moment.
I'll be mobile for a chunk of the day. Car maintenance.
Ok if we want to try for the two goblin and the goblin boss first we can do that. Assume we need to roll for stealth? Assume that smudge and I can each cast guidance to help with stealth roll. Lars is already on my back
my assumption is I will continue to move west so that my darkness does not hinder our party. Nor give the enemy a way to approach behind me.
Petnan and Lar make it all the way to just about the center of the map.
This is sooooo funny.....remind me to tell you what the goblins rolled for their perceptions...all three separately. lol
OOC - I realized Dubrakh hasn't chimed in on stealth roll yet. I will adjust depending on their actions.
With Petnan and Lars moving west the trio lacking as Ral steps on a dry branch causing some noise. While Ral thought it was very loud, he's not sure if the sound reached the Goblins.
The goblins start moving south to investigate a possible noise. The Orc warrior and Ogre are curious why a dark mass is move towards them.
Initiative will be active from here.
