You find the area the scarecrow was in, and after a few fields of searching, you do spot the scarecrow moving in the field. This one has a sackcloth for a head. At this point you are about 90ft away and it has not seen you (no init rolled yet)
Oriace takes the torch from Mana with a firm nod of appreciation. “Thank you, Mana. This time, I’ll be ready to help light it up before it gets too close.” He twirls the torch lightly in his hand, getting a feel for its weight compared to his usual rapier. “A change of pace from my usual approach, but fitting for this situation. Let’s not waste the element of surprise—we’ll catch it off guard and take it down quickly.” Standing poised, he looks to the others, his sharp eyes fixed on the moving figure in the field. “Just say the word, and I’ll move in.”
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Sorry, I'm beginning to enter a vacation period and while I will try to check-in at least daily, I cannot promise that I will always be able to do so. From September 1, I should be back to normal.
"Same plan as last time I think. When you move forward I'll createDancing Lightson the far side of it to keep it from getting away. Though I fear that it will not willingly come towards us with our torches already lit. We will see. If needed we can drive it with lights on the far side." Toser says, ready to cast the cantrip.
“I will cast Dancing Lights as torches on the far side as well. 8 threatening torches should chase it towards our handful of torches, I would think. When it is close enough, I’ll drop my concentration on the fake torches and refocus on cursing it with Bane before splashing it with oil.”
I will not bother rolling initiative for this as it is unaware of you and so even if it gets the highest init, it wouldn't do anything on its first turn and so it has the same effect.
Everyone can take their first turn (unless people want to sneak closer before combat starts, and then I will need stealth rolls and we will see what happens then)
Mana’s heart races as the dragnet of pseudo-torches draws the menace towards their position. He whispers an encouraging Bardic Inspiration to Sterling and casts Bane on the burlap headed undead the moment it enters range.
(DC 14 CHA save or -1d4 on all attacks and saving throws for the next 10 rounds or loss of concentration.)
Oriace moves quickly alongside Wagner, the torch in his hand casting flickering light across the field as he closes the distance. His movements are deliberate, but his grip on the torch is firm, ready to ignite the scarecrow when the moment comes.
"Stay sharp, everyone," Oriace whispers telepathically to his companions. "We’ve got the advantage—let’s not waste it. Wagner, with you leading the charge, this thing won’t stand a chance." (Bardic Inspiration to Wagner)
He adjusts his pace to keep up with Wagner’s stride, his torch held high, its flame a symbol of their resolve against the eerie foe. As he advances, he readies himself mentally for the scarecrow’s inevitable retaliation, a calm determination settling over him.
(Oriace moves in with Wagner -- 40 ft with a dash to compensate that he will be slower next turn. He has the torch in one hand, and the rapier in the other.)

Torch in hand, Sterling quietly followed his companions' lead. The would-be jeweler raced forward but diverged slightly from Oriace and Wagner in an attempt to eventually flank the scarecrow and prevent it from running.
ACTION:Dash MOVE: 60 feet towards the scarecrow FREE: Draw rapier
EDIT: Just noting that he has a Bardic Inspiration from Mana
Toser moved forward with Wagner. He then lit up 4 Dancing Light torches as before. 1 in front of, 2 on the far side and 1 behind the scarecrow to keep it from escaping.
Bane has a range of 30ft so wouldn't be able to do it on this turn, however based on the previous message, I will assume that you also do dancing lights behind it. The scarecrow will move a bit closer away from the lights, but seeing you with torches does not get too close (moved 10ft, so now 80ft-whatever you moved last turn). It glares at Sterling who had moved the fastest with a torch, but it is not enough to slow him down (12 against a DC11)
I have assumed that Mana will get closer and cast Bane. The scarecrow fails with a nat 1.
Everyone (apart from Mana unless a different course of action is taken) is up
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"We've got him!" yelled Sterling, closing in on the scarecrow as he noticed it suffer from Mana's spell. Torch in his left hand, his right moved with speed, attempting to pierce through the stuffed creature.
MOVE: Close in on scarecrow ACTION:Attack with rapier * Rapier Thrust - Attack: 18, Mundane Piercing Damage: 11 (plus 7 extra on crit) * Will use the Bardic Inspiration from Mana, adding +2 to the attack, if the attack roll is on or between 11-15 BONUS: Bardic Inspiration to Oriace
Toser, still 55 ft from the scarecrow, moves 30 feet closer. As he does he moves the Dancing Lights (BA) towards the scarecrow by 10 feet trying to force it towards us.
He then also launches a mote of light (Starry Wisp) at the scarecrow.
Oriace hurries towards the scarecrow with a quick dash and hopes to bind it in melee before it decides to turn tail. Though, somehow he believes that something as hideous as such a creation isn't overly concerned about self-preservation.

* Will use the Bardic Inspiration from Mana, adding +6 to the attack, if the attack roll is on or between 11-15
You did notice last time that these scarecrows are not that hard to hit. Using bardic inspiration with an attack roll between 11-15 is overkill. The scarecrow is unarmoured and not massively quick to react. A 9 does miss, but the scarecrow barely gets out of the way.
Toser hits the scarecrow. It turns to face him, not caring much as Oriace makes his way behind it.
After the completion of the Bane spell, Mana fishes the flask of oil out of his pocket. (I think that’s all I can do this round. If there’s more or if we’re in the next round, I’ve got more.)

Sterling nodded to Mana, then cast his spell as quietly as he could to light the first torch before spreading the flame to the others.
