Henry Blarock's first impression of the room where he wakes is that it must be some kind of Monk's cell. The rough stone walls, the simple beds, all seem both foreign and familiar at once. Whatever else may be true, one thing is certain, the dark smoke billowing near the floor can only mean that he's returned to the nightmare realm...
Henry's brows furrow as he tries to remember how he got here. He was Jack, that part he does recall, in the real world. Something... a wizard... with a long grey beard... Grey, the color was significant, though the meaning was lost on him now...
Something about a book. And a tomb. And then he fell asleep. Only to wake up here... like all the times before. Not in this room of course...but in the dream realm.
Taking in the room around him, there's really not much to see. A pair of simple wooden beds. A plain wooden door. And four stone walls...
(Perception is a good guess, but not correct. The easiest way to think of it is that perception is the skill you would use to spot living things; a thief hiding in the shadows, a lion stalking you, or goblins laying an ambush. Investigation is the skill you'd use for non-living things; searching for clues, spotting a trap, or finding hidden treasures.)
(As for rolling here, you're working from a mobile, correct? If so, you have to rotate your device to the widescreen view. This will allow you to see the tool bar. On the tool bar the second to last icon is a black square that looks like a six-sided dice. If you click on it, you will open up the dice roller. For a basic skill check like this, just leave it on the default setting and add the skill bonus from your character sheet. If you would, please, gve it a try now for Investigation. If you want to try it here and in the game log, to see which one you might prefer, I'll use the higher of your two checks.)
(ok my bad here it is 20+1 hmm. I just understood how to roll it here but I accidentally rolled it in the caracter sheet but it should be in the game log anyway so yeah investigation check 20+1) I would say DECENT LUCK
Henry carefully and thoroughly searches the room top to bottom; checking under the beds and sheets, under and inside the mattresses and pillows, he searches for loose stonework in the walls and floor, and anywhere else he can manage to think of. When he's done, he's quite certain that if there was anything to find in this room, he would have found it. But aside from a pair of blankets, sheets, and feather filled pillows, or some of the straw inside the mattresses, there's really nothing he could manage to take with him.
The door pops open easily enough to reveal a second room, constructed much like the first one, with a trio of wooden doors and a wooden cabinet that would be waist high to a human but stands as tall as Henry. On top of the cabinet stands a clay bowl, a clay pitcher, and several clay mugs...

henry says to himself "huh this place feels like a home of sorts, after all I could be anywhere " before trying to open the top right door carefully to possibly search for any living creatures
The three beds in this small room each contain a hazy, translucent figure that glows softly with an internal light. The brightness of the light varies between them, with the brightest casting the room with an amber light and the darkest giving off only the faintest trace of pale silver moonlight...
Perched on the corner post of the bed closest to the door sits a small creature of shadow and smoke, keeping a gleeful watch over the dimmest of the three figures...

as henry observes this creature he sees his sharp claws its long beak and while backing up slowly he looks at a the creature and says "hey ... you bieutiful creature, would it be possible for you to help me figure this place out?" while exiting the room backwards . persuasion check 5

The creature chitters and cackles at Henry in an unfamiliar language, flapping it's wings in a mildly threatening manner but making no overtly aggressive moves.
(Feel free to make an Insight check to help figure out the creature's intentions. The Difficulty Class or DC for the check will be 15)
I post this to say I will not be posting anything for about two weeks because we have things planned for a bit after his period I will edit this text and continue but untill then I will not say anything so you are warned
(No problem! Glad to have you back and I hope all is well!)
Jack quickly spots what's going on. He's seen the same behavior in countless animals and people. The creature is frightened of him and is trying to look dangerous in an attempt to scare him off.
"huh it seems scared . maybe if i try to make the least amount of sound and slowly walk in the room it will stay there " henry slowly walks into the room with both his handsin front of his torso
The creature begins to hop, chitter, and howl at Jack until it becomes clear that he has no intentions of being deterred by it's behavior. The creature quiets down, settles back onto its perch, and tilts it's head quizzically.
Jack approches the figure in the down left corner of the room and tries to remove the blanket covering most of the figured body while making sure to be prepared to fall back
With the blanket removed, the glowing figure shivers slightly, as if suffering a chill and then it... No he... Even though Jack can not make out the features very well, he's quite certain it's a man looks up at him.
"Who's there," the figure asks as it looks though Jack at the space behind him.

(What would you like to do?)
I would like to search the room for anything useful
I am guessing I would need to do a perception check so here it is although I am not sure : perception check 3+2=5
(occ although I sent it to the game log I do not know how to have the check directly here so Insight on that would be nice)
