<A note on initiative + for the uninitiated: we roll bs a static monster initiative to act before it, but we use side initiative so all players are up right now. >
<If he steps back 5ft he's in a lake, which works if we ret on the new players to also have water walk on them. I'd be willing to do that. I can never tell even when it's rolled in the thread because I'm always on mobile and can't hover to show the roll math, but just noting the basalisk has dark vision, so it's a straight (no AD/DA roll). If your intention is to move back to get AD by exceeding it's dark vision range, the issue is the curve af the corridor: moving away would not allow line of sight. But since I can't see it I'm assuming it's a straight roll.
Edit: I see, I hadn't moved the monster token yet, that resolves the line of sight issue, but it does raise a new issue.>
Petrifying Gaze. If a creature starts its turn within 30 feet of the basilisk and the two of them can see each other, the basilisk can force the creature to make a DC 12 Constitution saving throw if the basilisk isn't incapacitated. On a failed save, the creature magically begins to turn to stone and is restrained. It must repeat the saving throw at the end of its next turn. On a success, the effect ends. On a failure, the creature is petrified until freed by the greater restoration spell or other magic. A creature that isn't surprised can avert its eyes to avoid the saving throw at the start of its turn. If it does so, it can't see the basilisk until the start of its next turn, when it can avert its eyes again. If it looks at the basilisk in the meantime, it must immediately make the save.
Tatsat also has 60 ft darkvision, good to know. In that case she is 60 ft from the basilisk, and assuming Paladin is moving forward to hold the gap, the rolls are straight rolls. Thx for the retcon on them all having water walking if needed!
Generally its intended to be a synchronous experience so it usually doesn't work. I can approve your entry and you can move about the board and add elements, but eventually it will probably boot you from the server or something. so maybe I'll switch to maps here on DDB, but they were really bare bones when I first tried them.
The Basilisk is hit by two eldritch blasts. It was already in a bad mood and proceeds to charge (mechanically all the players go before it moves at all but narratively, it's charging, now)
(Timing: I want to do this after everyone else in the party has attacked first, since my Initiative is 2, this should not be a problem. If the creature is moving forward, Sparhawk will move to a range of 35 feet.
He holds his shield toward the creature, the holy symbol of Marduk with multiple eyes facing the deadly eyes of the monstrosity.
"You will stop there beast!", He commands
He then approaches the creature to 35 feet, and puts his shield in front of his face.
"Friends, hit it with everything you got!."
Channel Divinity: Abjure Enemy: Wisdom DC 15:
As an action, you present your holy symbol and speak a prayer of denunciation, using your Channel Divinity. Choose one creature within 60 feet of you that you can see. That creature must make a Wisdom saving throw, unless it is immune to being frightened. On a failed save, the creature is frightened for 1 minute or until it takes any damage. While frightened, the creature’s speed is 0, and it can’t benefit from any bonus to its speed. On a successful save, the creature’s speed is halved for 1 minute or until the creature takes any damage.
OOC: I'll roll all my rolls in the sheet, to make things easier.
Petrifying Gaze CON save: NAT 1+5=6
OOC: Well, the dice hate me! Guess I'll just have to try extra hard to survive until I win their favor
Meerwin looks down as stone begins to crawl up their legs and arms, rooting them to the spot and making their hands heavy and almost useless "That's not good. Guess this thing really wants to kill us. As if we'll let it!" They joke to Sparhawk, despite the fact the warrior is locked in complete concentration and trying to perform magic "Oh, sorry. Well..." their voice drifts off like a leaf in the wind as they look down at their now useless hands. Then, they open their mouth, and a whisper comes out, flowing on a breeze like a deadly song. It worms its way into the Basilisk's mind, filling it with doubt.
Meerwin casts Mind Sliver on the Basilisk, forcing it to make a DC 17 INT save. On a fail, it takes 7 Psychic damage and subtracts 3 from its next save (which, if Sparhawk is using Abjure Enemy after everyone else, should be the Abjure Enemy save)

(OOC: we shouldn't have to make a con save for Petrifying gaze unless it gets within 30 feet of us. With the Adjure enemy, it won't be able to move until we all attack it again. I suggest we all attack it at the same time, then avert our gaze as it advances.)
<It was 20ft from you at the start of your turn, so the con save would be necessary. See #987 for range.
Also I didn't think to mention, but after eldritch blast, Tatsat can still move north or south and be out of line of sight after attacking, if they choose.>

Dallas and Koselig are up. I'll give them until tomorrow before rolling monster dice. I'll assume meerwin goes right before Sparhawk (as you are fee to do with side initiative) and roll the save vs abjuration with the mind spike penalty
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

I don't know if Dallas is still with us, so planning to keep rolling ASAP. In the mean time, I have a new player and they've convinced me that you should all have 1+1d2 potion of healing (you can roll that yourself.)

Tatsat steps back 20 more feet (roughly 50 ft behind the brazenly brave paladin ) and fires off 2 eldritch blasts at the serpentine troublemaker
attack 27 dmg 4
attack 25 dmg 5

The maximum line of sight distance from the basilisk is 50ft, at which point Tatsat is against a wall, the lake underfoot and before him.
