[[ I think I introduced myself earlier at the breakfast so Argos has at least heard Macario's name once. Up to you whether he remembers it though I guess. :) ]]
In the darkness, Macario summons a ball of green flame to illuminate the room and allow himself to see the pile of masks as well, though the light doesn't stretch far enough to illuminate the source of the sound on the stage.
"That's a good way to get walked on, Argos," he says upon hearing the elf's timid call towards the stage, "You don't even know who it is yet." Turning towards the stage he calls out, "Inra, is that you? Come closer so we can see your face."
Macario's light illuminates the ballroom in front of you into a ghastly green. The whirls in the black holes seem to accelerate further. Luckily for Macario, it doesn't affect you. Approaching from behind the curtains is a bugbear with an ourobouros necklace who seems just as confused as you are.
Somehow while you guys wait, you start to feel little bitty pieces of snow fall on you. They are coming from nowhere in particular just from up. They are spastic, moving from one way to another as if they were static. They make no linear path. And upon falling on you they melt easily.
However, Macario, one thing you do notice is that that the reliefs on the walls of the ballroom you saw earlier are different. This time, instead of the carved silhouette of the mountains, you see a face. A large fanged and curved mouth that is superimposed onto the mountains and seeming to be eating the whole hotel alive. You see four little figures on the bottom, and for some reason, without even going closer, you can tell one of them is you.
@Bodir
You come out from behind the curtains, somehow finding yourself onstage in a rather elegant ballroom.
The ballroom is an impressively carved out hollow in the base of the trunk. There are arching rafters leading to the roof spiral and turn like real branches. Their artificial outstretch ends in that of a chandelier where more carved tree branches spindle down, holding a very large intertwining of leaves and lanterns like an upside-down glowing tree. Small dragon-like figures adorn each of the branches with mouths wide.
In the middle, you can make out a pile of 200 or so masquerade masks in the center of the ballroom. They are all made of a fuzzy black velvet with a feather on top. Their eyeholes seem to have a swirl black void in them. It is like staring in a funhouse mirror with them. It causes an uneasy sensation in you as well, but not the dizziness.
Across from those are two strangers you have never met before. One, a human, is holding a ball of green fire and the other beside him is a half-elf. The green fire gives a sickening look to those makes as it illuminates them in a way that makes them seem more alive than fabric should be.
"Well then why don't you go see who it is, you weren't the one who hasn't been running around all day with sir-stinkbreath, wanted demon and toobigtobehere" Argos puffed, but he doesn't really notice that Macario doesn't know who were they.
Argos proceeded to close his eyes once he realized the swirls got worse. can't get dazed if u cant see the dazer.
"Running around with who?" Macario asks, momentarily distracted from the sound up on the stage. "Is everything alright, Argos? You look a little dizzy."

Macario's attention whips back towards the stage on the other side of the pile of masks at the sound of the voice. "You're not Inra. And Jormun's not a name I've ever heard. As I said before, come closer so we can see your face." Macario stands up straight, keenly aware that this stranger can see him despite the opposite not being true. He does his best not to appear hostile, but it's clear in his tone that he doesn't appreciate the darkness and the fact that everyone except him, Argos, and this stranger seem to have vanished.
[[ Could I do an arcana check to see if I can figure out by what techno-magical means the lights work and if I can activate it to reveal the rest of the room beyond my current 20 ft. sphere of light from the fire? It'll only be a 13 if so. ]]

"i expected as much. you probably follow a foreign god." he steps forward. he has gray eyes, and his head fur is combed backwards.
"I grew up in the ruins and am a citizen of Enerst. I would hardly call that foreign, unless you believe those rumors about Sesisah's priests coming from the 'side itself." The green flame in his hand jumps, casting dark shadows on Macario's face as he sort of suggests that he might be from the realm of the dead, though he still makes no hostile moves towards the extremely furry individual that has approached him and Argos.
[[ This should've occurred to me on the last post but religion19 to see if I've ever heard any mention of Jormun? ]]

"foreign to me"
*yeah, prolly. jormun is a god of the people across the sea (based on the norse. mostly orcs, goblinoids, etc. not evil).*
You notice that there is a sort of long candle-wick string that lines the edge of one of the walls. You see that this ends with the trial up towards the very top of the chandelier. Just by putting your hand near it, somehow you feel it is enchanted.
((Religion))
From across the sea (as Twimee'zah is basically its own continent with a lot of it being cut off by mountains, and the rest of the world is made up of clusters of small islands), you have hear of people from distance lands talking faintly about Jormun. It is mostly those who worked around the docks and the coast who shared rumors of this supposed winged sea serpent.
Because of his ability to affect the waves by his movement due his grandiose size and therefore travel, Jormun has become worshiped by those nomadic seatravelers. These people are mostly those from other islands and archipelagos that consist of orcs and goblinoids - goblin communities being those closer to the poles (connected with the fey) and orcs being closer to the equivalent of the equator (more connected with Fenya).
Jormun has only been spoken of in legend and in rumor, but never have you heard of anyone actually taking Jormun as a deity (although there are many from other lands that do).
@Argos
((cRUNCH))
Despite not looking directly at the masks, your dizziness continues to get worse. You hear the low faint notes of chimes. Almost as if it was next to your ear. The burns you sustained from the kitchen fires start to itch. It feels like you're on fire! Right now!
Then there's a"Knock. Knock." only you can hear.
@Brodir
There's something familiar you see in that pile of masks... almost one of them... looks like yourself. Complete with an ourobouros necklace attached from side to the other. It is in the middle of the pile facing you.
The staticy-snow keeps falling on all of you.

*mostly accurate, but jormun doesnt have wings(i decided to drop the quetzalcoutal bit), and it burrows through land as well as swims through the sea. the civilisation also has the rest of the monstrous humanoids*
“Foreign to you? Just how might you have ended up here then?” Macario tries holding his flame near the wick to see if there is any reaction, wanting to dispel some of the darkness around them.
Also noticing Argos’ continued discomfort and mumbling about knocking, Macario turns away from the pile of masks and the strange enchanted string to see if he can aid the elf. No use in arguing with this new stranger if I can’t even manage one “chosen one,” or whatever we might be.

"i came here by boat, following my line of knowlege"
((ohh okay! cool okay it will be non-winged then :) ))
You cast Detect Magic on the masks. In front of you, you see a vivid purple aura engulfing them. Like smoke the aura rises from the pile in steamy misty waves.
You did arrive here by boat, but once you reached the shore there began a hailstorm. That was the last thing you remember before ending up here.
@Argos
((oof))
Sadly racking your brain for answers you come up with none. Nothing seems to be helping the spinning. Not even Macario's attempt to help you. The burns sting intensely.
"You forgot to say who's there."
@Macario
Using your flame, you lit the wick and it instantly leads up the wire and lights up the room with an imposing 'whoosh' as the flames on the chandelier alight. They burn the same green fire that you do.
One they do, each of the queztal branch statues shoots out a fireball across to each corner of the room where four bronze sculptured lanterns are positioned (one a fox, one a cheetah, the other a dragon, and the last a squirrel) where each's 'mouth' is filled with fire. You recall these weren't there before.
Now the entire room is lit up.
Attempting to soothe the Argo's pain, Macario ends up just irritating more of the burn sites. Oops. At least it was well-meaning.
((lol nooo nat 1 :( ))

"There are some masks here Macario." (I'm SO SORRY-)
Argos moved a bit involuntarily. An effect of his dizziness.
As he heard the shuffle he looked away from the masks to see what's the ruckus. And then the slam made Argos jump.
"Okay, whoever you are. We are not willing to fight." He said.
