Despite the difficulties of using a such a large blade in such a small space, Khessa manages to pull of the maneuver, using the pommel of her weapon to push the foul creature back, then slicing at it with all her might. The tactic pays off, as the head of the zombie rolls off

"...And stay down!" Khessa growls, encouraged by seeing another opponent fall.
The blonde arcane warrior shifts her weight, turns on her heel, and delivers a horizontal slash at waist height from one of the other tenacious tomb rejects.
'How come Kevori hasn't shot a single arrow yet?' the tall adventuress, however, asks herself, perplexed, as the heavy blade falls on her target...
[[ OOC: Khessa keeps attacking with her Greatsword, this time targeting Z2 ]]
As Khessa swings her blade, cutting at another zombie, which falls but gets back up, relentless undead fury fueling it, she realizes what Kevori has been doing. An arrow whistles overhead, with something round and cabbage sized attached to the head. She can't quite figure out what it is, until it lands in the midst of the final two zombies, and explodes. Smoke and ash fly everywhere, and the zombies are blown backwards away from the explosion. It was a bomb Khessa thinks to herself that's what it was
Both Zombies must make DC 12 DEX saves or take 6 Fire damage and be blown back 10ft
Z2's DEX save: 3
Z6's DEX save: 3
If the zombies are still alive after that,

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(guess I should have gone for that magic shield😆)
Kit brings her longsword back into the high guard only to see Khessa remove her opponent's head with a single sweep of her greatsword. As the body slumps to the ground Kit is stunned by an unexpected blow to the head. Turning to face this new threat she slashes downward with her sword while interposing her shield between them.
Erven moves forward and engages Z6, hacking at it with his shortsword, startled after the explosion, but his hatred guides his sword into the undead flesh.
Shortsword : 14 to hit, for 9 points of piercing damage.
If the zombie goes down and stays down, he moves back and picks up his longbow again.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
"Next time we face a chamber full of clumsy creepy corpses perhaps lead with that?"The young dark-haired man says to Kevori with a wink and a small smile. He then turns to swiftly place his hex upon the last dreary dead before blasting it with a greenish beam of eldritch force, even if it has gone down, just to make sure it stays down, and quite possibly to release some frustration over these terribly tenacious terrors.
Kit swings her blade, and slices off the arm of the zombie. It staggers, and Erven slices straight through its spine. It collapses to the ground, tries to rise again, but is destroyed in a puff of smoke by a blast from Jack.
COMBAT IS NOW OVER! You did it!
Kevori smiles at the warlock sheepishly. "Sorry...I forgot I had it until the middle of the fight. It helped though, didn't it?"
As you recover from the battle, you look around, and the dirty desecrated shrine in the far corner catches your eye. It bears the image of a blank scroll inscribed upon it, though the cracked stone of the altar is marred by age and disrepair.
Anyone who wants to can make a DC 10 Religion check to learn:
This was once a shrine to Oghma, god of knowledge and patron to bards and wizards. There must be some way to reconsecrate it. Maybe something to do with the god's portfolia and who they were the patron of...hmm

He shakes off the zombie muck off of his spear and stares as nothing comes to mind as he has no clue what this shrine is supposed to be in honor of. "This is just a guess, but I don't think the cloaked crossbowman went this way. That means we would need to trudge through that fetid sludge down that secret passage. I am not looking forward to that prospect"
"Yes, quite spectacularly so Kevori, I've always loved a party that starts with a bang, don't be shy with those if you happen to have any more."The dark-haired young man says with an encouraging smile.
"Unless I'm very much mistaken that dirty desecrated shrine was once consecrated to the Lord of knowledge and patron of all bards. Now if we only had a true bard among us to make some merry music we could perhaps reconsecrate it before continuing our search for the elusive murderous cultist. I myself have been known to carry a tune but alas I have unfortunately left my pipe organ back home so some other musical instrument would be required." The dark-haired young man says with an amused smile, looking around at his newfound companions for volunteers to help him out with a performance worthy of a god.
"A shrine to Oghma..." Khessa recalls having seen the symbol elsewhere already, in the past "god of knowledge and patron to bards and wizards. Thinking of bards reminded you of music, Jack," she smiles "and I don't blame you for that; the music is very pleasant. Yet Oghma's main focus is on knowledege (which in fact even bards use, to compose their ballads). So I think our best bet to reconsecrate this altar is by using or offering knowledge, instead of music".
"Aside from the smelly passages," the blonde arcane warrior muses aloud "which, to my nose, don't exactly smell of knowledge, we encountered Chanell's room and the other two rooms near it. In the one that I visited, there was the shield, which doesn't seem terribly knowledge-themed to me. Was there anything that had something to do with knowledge in the other room?"
Kit looks up from where she's wiping down her longsword. Jack was clearly "very much mistaken," a blank scroll was neither the symbol of Corellon Larethian nor Labelas Enoreth, but humans rarely seemed to get anything right about the Seldarine...
Once she's cleaned her blade and handkerchief she sits down atop on of the tombs (unless the shrine has an altar, then she'll definitely sit on the altar instead).
"If we're going to go trudging through sewers we may as well rest for a bit. There's no sense in us being miserable and tired," she says as she pulls out a thelarr crudely carved from a river reed.
"Oh, and I'm not carrying that,"she says to Jack while pointing at Lady Hallwinter's unused shield, "I'm not your pack mule."
(If the party agrees to taking a Short Rest, Kit will play a Song of Rest on the thelarr to help brighten the mood.)
Charisma check with Thelarr proficiency: 19
Song of Rest
Beginning at 2nd level, you can use soothing music or oration to help revitalize your wounded allies during a short rest. If you or any friendly creatures who can hear your performance regain hit points at the end of the short rest by spending one or more Hit Dice, each of those creatures regains an extra 1d6 hit points.
"Yes, well I just recalled the interesting parts about old man Oghma..." The young dark-haired man says to the tall blonde with a shrug. "...you go ahead and look for old dusty tomes and I will come up with something more entertaining to grace The Wise One with, and hope he still has a sense of humour."
"I'm sure Lady Hallwinter would have wanted you to use it Kit, like she once used it, bravely against the forces of darkness."The young dark-haired man says uncharacteristically firmly to the obstinate half-elf.
As the half-elf starts to play her river seed flute the young dark-haired man first listens, and then he smiles and dances around, and then he starts to sing to the cheerful wind instrument music.
"There was a wise god over Toril that many a tome wrote with his quill he screamed, Knowledge is power! from his old dreary tower and probably he's writing there still."
