I'm pretty sure that Gijigume with finish O5 (unless he rolls a bunch of 1s) so lets call it a day.
This group of giants and hangers-on are quite interesting. They have 3 large chests along with their normal equipment and rations plus a very ornate scroll tube covered in runes.
a beaten silver comb set with four gems (worth 100 gp), a copper mirror (20 gp), and a large gold hairpin set with a pearl (total value 200 gp) and 980 cp, 320 sp, and 400 gp.

I'm going to be out all of today so next post will be tomorrow morning. To give you something to think on the scroll tube contains a message
"To: Grugnur, Lord of Frost Giants
From: Nosnra, Cheif of the Hill Giants
We have been attacked by a group of the lesser humanoids. They have used foul and cowardly tactics to kill our brave warriors in their sleep and then flee instead of facing our wrath. As we have taken most grievous losses I am invoking our treaty. The bearer of this message is transporting our treasury, please accept 1/5 as payment and then send 20 of you brave soldiers to our assistance. Please keep the remainder safe until this crisis is resolved,
Send your troops through the chain gate with our regular correspondence when it opens this full moon."
I'm sure someone will ask, the next full moon is in 13 days.
"Curiouser and curoiuser," mutters Gijigume. "It looks like it's a good job we intercepted these guys or we'd have frost giants to face as well. But it appears we haven't damaged them enough to make them want to flee yet, unless we missed them."
"It seems they expect at least to stay for the next full moon. Did we see anywhere in there that you'd call 'the chain gate'? They may have fortified position nearby."
You have seen nothing that fits the description 'chain gate'.
Arya "Well at least we have 13 days to finish the hill giants. If they could make the 'gate' open on demand this lot" she points at all the bodies "wouldn't have been needed to deliver the message. I'm thinking that we should just sneak in and cause as much damage as possible. They have already sent for help so how many giants are left? And I want the Cape of the Mountebank"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"That's a handy cape, anyone could use it in a pinch.
If they've got another stronghold maybe we should go find it instead of going to attack their cooks and children."
(Awhile later...)
Fah'lin feels the call of his patron. He goes into the forest to meditate when he's able, and recieves a magic tome to enhance his magic and skill. A new ally also joins him to aid the hunt. Helm has provided his servant, Sciathan, in the form of a small black and grey falcon.
Fah'lin grants Sciathan Guidance and he takes to the sky to watch for any approaching threats or potential enemy positions (Perception: (4)26).

Arya does a quick count “I could lend my cape to one of you, Thar puts dimension door into my ring and then he casts the spell himself. That means all of us could just teleport into the giant’s stronghold anywhere we’ve already seen. Or we could get in some other way and use dimension door that way as a quick escape if things go tit over arse.”
"Well it seems to me," says Thar "that the hill giants have taken more losses than they like. But we have intercepted their call for help. I think we should finish them. And personally I would like to keep a Dimension Door for escaping rather than a means of entry."
I note that Aeliarin has taken Dimension Door as spell. This means that he, Thar and the cloak will give you the escape you need without using the Spell Storing ring. Therefor Arya will keep her usual spell mix in the ring - Misty Step, Invisibility and Shield.
Arya "I've just had an evil idea, how about we chop of the heads of these giants and take them back to the stockade. In the dead of night we put them on spears outside their front door and when they are discovered we sneak in through the back while everyone is panicking."
