“If one more person tries to kill me today, I’m going to lose my- wanna play marbles?” The first part of that sentence was definitely exasperated, he might’ve meant to carry that into the second part.

Rynna chuckles at Creak's frustration but also found she agreed.  In the short time since she and Belmaris had appeared, it had been almost non-stop battle.  Someone... maybe something was playing games with this house.  Spotting the crib, Rynna goes towards it immediately.

Investigation 7

"I hate to say it but are we sure that baby is alive?  I've looked after my cousin's passel of brats and they'd be howling after hearing that kind of noise."

Gralywynn slinks out of the room, to search the room Creak had been in for baubles or anything of value.

But before she leaves, stopping at the doorway, she turns to the group and say "Wait... didn't the children say the "monster" lived in the basement? The spirits we've encountered were placed here, yes. But they wouldn't have been able to be confined in a given floor, would they?"

Gralwynn rushes to the balcony, and looks over it to see if she can spot the children who first directed them to the house.

Rynna, as you and Finlan throw open the shroud, you note a baby-sized bundle of gray cloth, but as you bump it, it falls open, revealing nothing. 

Gralwynn, when you get to the balcony, you see that the house is completely surrounded by the fog. You can't even see the floor of the balcony outside the door, it's that thick.

Creak peers into the crib, “Told ya- We are so- that’s stupid!- You got played, kid.” Creak throws his hands up in frustration and readjusts his hat. 

"The baby was bait but who wants to bet the monster isn't?  I'm feeling rather cross at being led around like a beast to be slaughtered.  I don't reckon we're going to be able to just leave, either," Rynna grumbles.  "Let's check over the rest of the room and level.  If there's nothing then we'll check the rest of this place."

Investigation 15

Maybe we should look for the kids and ask them what's going on... Finlan says.

HEEEEELLLLLLLLLOOO!!!!!!!???? KIIIIIDDDDSSS WWWWHHHHEEEERRREEEE AAAAARRRRE YOOOUUUUU!!!?? WWWWWEEEEE NNNNEEEEDDDDD YYYYOOOOUUUU!!! He yells, hoping they'll come.

“What’s going on- The kids- that feels pretty evil- Bait- We just got punked!” Creak is going to walk down the staircase and find the door led to the outside, is it unlocked?

The door is unlocked, but as you open it, the mist pours over the threshold swirling around your ankles sending a chill up your spine.

“Yep- it’s a trap!” Creak let’s out a sad tweet and returns to the base of the stairwell. “Trap!- We’re bloody snowed in!”

"What? It shouldn't be snowing." And Adric is going to exit the house.

As you go to leave the house, you walk into the same mist that you encountered on the road in, feeling it sap your strength immediately. If you spend more than one round outside, please make a Con save.

Going back in. "There's no snow, but the fog is now unsafe to stand in. So don't do that." And Adric will use his final Divine Sense to see if this ground is desecrated or not.

Creak pinches his beak and nods, “No snow- fog- you have a tendency to repeat snippets of things that other people have told you- context, Creak!”

Adric, the ground isn't desecrated.

Ongoing Map:

Well, only one place left. Creak will Stealth (11) once more and sneak toward the basement, he’s trying to scout out the area. Just enough to see.

Creak, try as you might, you cannot find a door to the basement. Any particular area of the house you are focusing your investigation on?

Adric will go back up to the third floor and open the center left door that hasn’t been opened. 

OOC: Was there not a door that opened after the book was removed?

There is a door that opened, however, it doesn't lead downstairs. Additionally, no one investigated the room.
