"So am I correct to understand that we are to charge forward in place of rest to restore Atlaswith the assistance of this person who has harmed others wearing the same mark as us. Sure, why not." says Rosebud, although it is unclear if she is being ironic or not. Muttering to herself, she says about Reya, "A city disappearing in the night cannot be a good thing. Being outside of the city when that happens, does that make her a good person or is it a bad omen, I just don't know. I do know that I want to help this garden, and if doing so helps Elturel then all the better."
Elias listens to all that has been said and wrinkles his young worried brow. Reya, I'm truly sorry to hear of what has be fallen your city and shudder to think what may have happened to your friends. He places a comforting hand on Khessa's arm, I'm not so sure it's the Drow. Although strong in the dark art magic and lead by a demon queen, I don't this adds up to them. If the Duke owns this bath house then I don't see how she couldn't be aware of the cultist activity. And what sway could she have over the High Overseer himself that would have pulled out of his temple city, under guard mind you, as the temple city is swallowed by the earth. Then we have the imp in the court yard. It all adds up to more than the Drow.
He looks to brother Ray, my friend, I know you need a rest, but can you push on with us should we press on tonight?
(It looks like you are pushing on. Take a Short Rest if you need it. I will go ahead with the party going through the Secret Door.)
Behind the door, a staircase descends 20 feet featuring smooth stone steps and brick walls. A foul odor that can best be described as sewer meets death contrasts greatly with the heavily perfumed Bathhouse. Two sputtering torches in wall sconces illuminate the staircase, but the dungeon below is dark.
(You will need a light source to go further. Of course, you can take one or both of the sputtering torches. No telling how long they will last. This may be the first party I have dealt with in a long time that does not have someone with Darkvision. No Elves, No Dwarves, No Half-Orcs! At least you have a Halfling and a Dragonborn, so all is well. :))
(I will be putting up a new map in the OOC thread. I assumed a marching order, but please feel free to rearrange as you like. And I will assume someone will be carrying a source of light.)
The chamber at the bottom of the staircase is empty, unlit, and flooded with foul-smelling water to a depth of 2 feet.
(Reya needs both hands on her Greatsword, so she will not be able to carry a light.)
Khessa, before continuing, divides the loot among everyone [[ OOC: 30 sp, we are 5, since Reya was not still with us, so 6 sp each ]] and takes a large towel for herself (for now she puts it in her backpack).
Given the darkness, the blonde arcane warrior takes one of the torches off the wall - but she doesn't use fire to light it, but a short formula, after which the object begins to glow with a magical light[[ OOC: Khessa can renew the Cantrip every time it expires - so for now the light problem is solved ]]. She then uses another magic formula and the luminescent torch begins to float, obediently, in front of everyone, lighting the way [[ OOC: Khessa can renew the Cantrip every time it expires - so for now the problem of who carries the light is solved ]].
The tall adventuress takes the lead of the group, determined to be the first to face any threats. Since there seem to be two possible paths, she begins to look around, even asking her companions for assistance: "Can you figure out which of these two directions Mr Rag Fashion has taken?"
KHESSA will determine that the flooded room prevents her from discerning any tracks. (On the map, blue squares are flooded areas and represent Difficult Terrain. 1/2 Movement. Also, I provided a light radius on the map that you can move around should where it is dark and where it is light becomes relevant, though honestly, I think Khessa has it figured out.)
Atlasrises to his feet silently and dusts himself off as the party begins to move on. He believes it best to stay behind the two more stout members of the group, especially after what just happened.
At the party enters the flooded dungeon Atlasattempts to study the movement of the water and try to detect any ripples or wakes coming from one of the two directions. "Everyone be still and quiet for a moment..."
Oh, ok, it's flooded... Then I agree, no tracks. Let's see if Atlas finds out something... Else, if we must choose blindly, Khessa is more inspired by the easternmost path (left half of the room)
"I don't notice any movement coming from either direction, but that over there looks like a dead-end room. I can't quite tell anything past that. Maybe we inspect that room before exploring further?"
"Yes, Atlas, good idea..." Khessa places herself at the room's threshold, lighting the chamber up "Since it looks like a dead end, we might as well explore it first. If we don't find any other way, we'll know we have to take the other branch".
The blonde arcane warrior, positioned so to prevent any hostile creatures inside from reaching her companions, observes carefully before entering, trying to get an idea of the functions of the room (if there is something inside that can allow her to guess them).
If after carefully examining from there she does not notice any danger, the tall adventuress begins to wander inside, looking for any secret passages (the den already had one... so it would not be surprising if there were others).
RAYNOIR, "Hmmm, not very pleasant down here isn't it, my poor shinny Dragon scales will not like this at all, oh well, just so everyone knows, while I have no healing spells left I can ask Bahamut forGuidanceat will when you ask, it might come in handy plus I can offer Resistancetoo"
And Brother Ray heads towards beloved Khessa and looks around too.

RAYNOIR, "Dearest friend Ellias, I will push through and do what I must, Bahamut willing all will be well".
And with that, Brother Ray stands firm ready to support his family.
"Nothing gets past me, as Paladine is my witness" he says quietly so no one hears.

Khessa's Survival (if appropriate), to find tracks of Mr Rag Fashion: 16

Perception: 9
Oh, ok, it's flooded... Then I agree, no tracks. Let's see if Atlas finds out something... Else, if we must choose blindly, Khessa is more inspired by the easternmost path (left half of the room)
ATLAS will see another room area to the southwest, but sees nothing but the nasty stagnant water within it. (Map updated.)
Elias will brighten the lite stone on his staff, it will give off light as a standard torch would. Follows his friends down.

Atlas will remain in the middle of the first chamber with an arrow at the ready, watching both directions.
(Khessa can attempt a Perception check as well, with a little Guidance from Raynoir.)
Raynior, casts Guidance on Khessa ...
[OOC: If GM permits: happy to assume Brother Ray casts Guidance whenever required for the moment its a cantrip for Ray that ads 1D4 to any checking]
Khessa's 'guided' Perception: 14
[[ OOC: Ooooppps... Well, the Guidance was great but against unluck you can't do very much. ]]
