Realizing the last light of day is being spent Zarbyn encourages the others to get a move on, "Let's start our descent and see how far we get before we need to light torches... or, I just had a thought, what if... what if an elf each act as guide for the two humans? Then we wouldn't need to light torches, I mean, elves can see in the dark right?"

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
(You will also need to leave Charlie at the top of the crater. There is no good way to lower him down and you will likely need a way to get back up after you explore the pyramid).
(Using ropes and other climbing gear, make 5 survival rolls with advantage, deciding who might be best at this)
(ooc: Zarbyn has a +2 in Survival. If you want I can try a roll and see if I succeed?)

"We can," Lev says slowly, answering Zarbyn's question. "But that doesn't make me anymore comfortable trying to guide someone down a cliff while they can't see."He sighs, "Though I'm not sure we have much choice here if we want to be the first ones to this Cache."
He looks to Vydar, "A faster way...?"he trails off, realizing that the wizard probably had some sort of magical solution for this. The real question is, how many of them can he get down there?
Lev hesitantly offers... "What if one of us carried the last person?"That... seems like a bad idea but he also doesn't like the thought of leaving one person to their own devices. "If one of us must scale the cliff, I suppose I can. Prioritize getting those of us who don't have night vision to the bottom."
"Yeah, I was only suggesting it if we wanted to have a chance at stealth. If we were able to get down without climbing we wouldn't need torches until after the fighting started. But it all depends on whether you wanted to try and surprise the enemy?"
Zarbyn will light a torch for Amdaeng and himself to see only after the group tries for a stealth appraoch? (If there is a different plan Zarbyn will try to adapt to that one instead.)

Iólinder looked over the cliffside to the area below. 'I'll admit: I'm not the best at climbing of any sort.' He said after backing away carefully from the edge. He turned to Vydar. 'What's that about jumping?'
Amdaeng and other connect ropes to pitons and drop it down the long cliff. Whether you now decide to climb down or fall/float, you will have a way out.
Just out of view on the back side of the pyramid, (You're on the north side) you hear a rumble and see rocks flying. Then you see the bright flash of fire reflect off the water (A spell). Then, another flash. There is some sort of combat behind the pyramid.
(You can run around the top of the crater (normal dash move) and get a better view, climb down to one of the lower levels, slow movement due to difficult terrain, or use magic to get down (will allow piggy back so all can go down)
(ooc: that's with Vydar's featherfall spell right? if we do that we can be down at the bottom in 1 round right? we might be able to get to the fight and see what's it about fairly quick so I vote for that.)

(OOC Picture you are at the top of a flat tabletop mountain. Then going down is a crater with rings at various intervals. There are 4 levels (top to water level). You can either run around at the top of the crater, or lower down, and run around from one of the levels. The rope goes all the way. Featherfall would get everyone down in one round.) Map is not exactly to scale, it will take about 2 rounds to get to where you can see what is going on.)
(Yep feather fall. Awesome, we can say Lev piggybacks Paevera. :D)
Vydar thinks for a moment then nods, "Yeah it should work if you carry someone."He then looks around the group, a smug grin still on his face, he seems overly pleased with the fact that everyone seems on board with his idea. "Alright, you all jump a few seconds before me. I need to make sure I can see you all. I won't wait to cast the spell to long, just long enough to ensure it will get us to the bottom."
He smirks at Zarbyn, "And don't worry about my seeing in the dark. I can guarantee I have the best darkvision here."
He looks towards the sounds of fighting behind the pyramid. "Alright the faster we do this the better."
The plan is a success. The group feather falls to the lowest level quickly but safely. You can now begin moving around the lowest level of the crater prior to the water until you catch a view of what is going on.
This time, there is a rumbling sound (like a rock fall). Then two flashes of red/orange light flash on the lake. Then a bright white light, but this time from the tip of the pyramid flashes out in the same direction (lightning), and a scream.
(OOC) Do you want to go clockwise or counterclockwise, and normal combat move or dash?
Lev sighs, then looks to Paevera, "...I can piggyback you if you are fine with it..."
Once at the bottom Lev quickly puts Paevera down, clearly a little embarrassed about the situation.
"What's the plan?"Lev clears his throat before asking, turning to the group. "I would prefer a surprise tactic if possible."He looks in the direction of the scream, "Preferably we should avoid the fighting altogether..."

Vydar raises an eyebrow at Amdaeng. Delectable? He snorts. "That's not a word that I'd use to describe myself, so I'm just as lost as you are."
As he prepares the climbing gear, he examines the cliff farther.
"Hmm, I may have a faster way to do this." He says, "Though we'll still need this to get back up."
(How far of a drop down is it?)
"We can," Lev says slowly, answering Zarbyn's question. "But that doesn't make me anymore comfortable trying to guide someone down a cliff while they can't see." He sighs, "Though I'm not sure we have much choice here if we want to be the first ones to this Cache."

(Each square is 10 ft, so some of the ledges are 20-30 and some over 100)
( Amdaeng is only +2 as well on Survival but willing to give it a go.- 8, 12, 18, 16, 22,
Ning STAYs on Charlie as guard.)
Vydar smirks, "We could just jump. I'll be able to slow our fall before we splatter....though I can only do it for five of us."
