Overhearing some of the conversation, Lira steps forward non-threateningly, along with Snowball who peeks up out of her pack.
"A giant lizard. Hm...I could try talking to it, but if it came from in there," she points to the Myurr painting and passage reluctantly, "I doubt it's interested in peaceful solutions."
He hangs back so Iolinder can continue his plan, but listens in and watches in case anything goes wrong. His eyes narrow as he hears them mention the god they follow. He has come to assume anything the dark elves worship to be evil. This causes him to raise his guard farther. However, when the gnomes start talking about mushrooms... they were really stupid enough to just eat random mushrooms they found? He scoffs to himself, but considers what their words as they continue. The mushrooms might be what made these gnomes sick, but he doubts they were the what caused them to want to stick their hands in the lava. That area is probably the room where the anvil is.
He glances towards Lira as she steps forward, and decides to follow behind her as nonthreatening as his personality will allow. Continuing to lurk in the shadows is probably not the best option since these gnomes so far haven't acted hostile. He makes a point not to look at the Myurr paintings as Lira addresses the lizard.
While shimmying down the rope his mind wanders, having already gotten the gloves and dealt with most, if not all, of the kobolds it almost seems like a formality that they will be able to destroy the anvil and retrieve the artifact they came here for, then they should be able to get help for those who... "Ahhh...!" He can't help but let out as he falls the rest of the way.

"No, the lizard lives in that cave (north, obvious cave). Behind the door is a hot room with lava and mushrooms and the voice."
The older gnome (Bramble) looks at Vydar with his satchel and funny hat and almost does a double take.
Then, some yelling (female) comes from inside the cave. "Get ready!"
You see a rope with a piece of meat tied to it being pulled, but whomever is pulling it is invisible. (In Allansia: Gnomes have the innate power to make themselves invisible)
Hearing Zarbyn cry out, Vydar quickly turns back raising a hand towards the warlock. Just before Zarbyn comes with in 10ft of the ground, his fall slows substantially allowing him to settle lightly on the ground. (Casts Feather fall on Zarbyn and anyone else who is descending the cliff.) Due to Zarbyn's fall distracting him, he misses Bramble's odd look. (saving him the embarrassment as he knows he looks ridiculous in the hat... which he has partially forgotten about.)
Then he spins back around when someone yell's "get ready", immediately seeing the meat being pulled by an invisible person. He draws his sword, preparing for a fight.
you hear the earth in the cave tremble—subtly at first, then with a rhythmic pulse, like the heartbeat of something vast. Then from the darkness, a great shape slithers into view.
First, two orange eyes come into view. Its head is massive, covered in thick, moss-dark scales that glisten like wet stone. More of its body comes into view. The creature has no wings, and only a pair of powerful forelimbs claw at the earth as it moves with unnatural grace. Its long, serpentine body slithers through the cave as it follows the scent of the meat.
The so called lizards head rises, crowned with jagged horns and framed by a mane of spiny frills. Its eyes burn with a low, cold intelligence. When it opens its jaws, rows of curved fangs glisten with venom, and the stench of decay rolls across the forest floor—something foul, ancient, and hungry. (A wingless dragon)
It doesn't roar. It hisses—a sound like steam from a venting volcano—its threat and intent clear as it tastes the air, undoubtedly recognizing that there is more to eat here than a piece of meat.
Your next move will decide whether this becomes legend… or a mass grave.

The lizard sticks its head out as it follows the meat being pulled by the invisible gnome. Then, a long sticky tongue springs out of its mouth and grabs the meat. Fortunately, the rope is no longer being held by Saya.
As its head pops out, you are surprised by the creature. It seems more dragon than lizard, its snout elongated, razor-sharp teeth drip with venom, its skin seems leathery and a blue color (but not dragon scales).
Morric hits the creature as it exits for 12 damage with his bow.
Zarbyns magical blast hits it again for 5 damage
Orange blood drips from several wounds. As the blood hits the floor, a hissing sound is heard as a bit of smoke rises.
Amdaeng throws two sharp darts: 1 pierces its hide for 7 damage. She has heard of this type of creature,
a Draklisk: a wingless relative of the dragon that lives in the cold of ice-finger mountains, but inhabits lava tubes and subterranean cave networks. Known for their speed and intelligence, yet this one seems larger and more aggressive than the ones she has heard of before. It combines lizard and dragon traits. If its what she thinks it is, it may have the ability to breathe ash and flame, and its blood can injure those in close combat. However, it also seems to have poison, which is not characteristic of this breed.
The creature partially exits the cave, but its long body continues into the cave behind it. It extends two sharp taloned claws and strikes at Iólinder (the closest target). Fortunately, he is able to block both attacks from the beast as it is barraged by multiple attacks as it begins to come out.
Lira waves her new wand, and small plants immediately form in the area within and outside of the cave, grasping at their foe. (entangle, DC14) The huge creature fights off the grasping plants and, unfortunately, is not restrained. (Strength save 14)
Both gnomes shot their huge siege weapons: (13 to hit, and 11 to hit), but their aim does not prove true, and they both miss their mark.
Bramble yells, "Its a damned Draklisk, not a lizard! It is susceptible to cold attacks!"
Saya (the invisible leader appears near Iólinder and casts a spell, trying to Blind the creature (blindness: DC save 11: (Rolled 20 for save). The creature is unaffected by her spell.
Vydar narrows his eyes at the creature. Damn, of course it's susceptible to cold attacks... an element his current arsenal of spells is currently lacking. He's guessing any fire-based attacks won't work well on this thing, so he opts for a different spell.
Lev joins the group, quickly moving to the front where he'll both take and do the most damage. He seems completely unfazed by this little dragon... or draklisk or whatever they called it.
Need a Dex save by Lev and Iólinder as the blood of the creature sprays out from various wounds. The combined magic bolts all hit the target doing 16 damage while Lev steps forward to join Iólinder against this new horror.
Back to the top of the order. There are two arbalests if anyone wants to try them, or use other means. So far it has made its saves against blindness and entangle. I’m placing the entangle just within the cave entrance so it is now partially out and those in hand to hand are not affected.
Pip and Bramble reload. The creature is huge and this time, both hit their marks with the dwarves war bolts:13 damage 19 damage "Don't get too close to the thing, it's poisonous!" Bramble warns.
Saya tries her spell again as she moves further away from the creature. (Blindness), the creature lets out a sort of scream as the gnomes spell effects it.
"Friends, It can sense your movement on the floor even though it cannot see!" (Tremorsense)
(Per the combat map, there is a raised level where the cave entrance is and one siege weapon.
Then there is a 10 foot wide lower level
Then there is another raised level) I'm ruling the Creature can sense you on the cave level for now, unless it drops down a level as it moves. (Each area that it can touch it can sense with it ability. So, right now, it can sense three targets: Lev, Iólinder, and Pip.
