As Lev carefully removes the fur gauntlets, the body suddenly slumps and falls over. It seems to be much lighter than he thought is should weight. Although it has been dead at least 6 months, the bones were very brittle.
Lev frowns as the body slumps over, then eyes the gauntlets before turning back to the group.
Perception: 23
He wonders if the gauntlets hold any magic.
He turns just in time to see Lira nearly fall into the pit trap, and luckily Iiolinder is there to pull her back and calm her down. Leg would have done the same thing if he’d been closer… well, he’d at least have pulled her away from the edge.
Leap of faith huh, well he’ll wait to see if Lira manages to disarm the trap.
After fumbling around for a bit, Lira finds a loose sconce at shoulder level. It does not turn left or right but does push in. There is a sort of sliding sound of metal on metal. You don't hear any other noises.
Lev looks over the gauntlets. Considering that the body has been here for quite some time, these gauntlets seemed to have held up quite well. They could be magical, or at the very least, well-made and probably of value. They are light weight and could easily be adjusted to fit any in the group.
(A person with a strength of 10 or higher can jump and land on the other side. More than 10 could add 1 foot per str above 10.) IF below 10 str, could be helped by a 10-foot pole or other item, someone holding a rope on the other side, etc., or maybe a strong party member, "Nobody Tosses a Dwarf...")
Amdaeng is easily able to jump it and lands firmly on the other side of the pit.
with her dark vision, she is able to see the door at the end of the hall. Looks like there is some writing in the same language as the other two areas around the outside. Maybe something on the door itself. (would need to get closer)
Everyone makes it across. You are unsure if there is another pit hidden where you stand. The ground forward seems solid enough.
As Vydar jumps across he notes that the stone in his hat is hot to the touch.
Ancient intricately carved hieroglyphs surround the doorway as the two previous archways.
Vydar
"Here, the stars find their place at my feet, and the earth itself trembles beneath the power of Sultan Akharis. What power lies within you? It is nothing compared to mine."
In what could be blood, (Which would be difficult to tell using Darkvision) there is something that has been painted in the Goblin language across the two doorways. (OOC: Does anyone speak goblin?)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Noticing how wary everyone is and remembering the warnings about the 3rd cache Zarbyn will try to determine if there is another trap, perhaps even a magical one.
"Remember that some of the traps might be magical and therefore harder or nigh impossible to detect. The good news is we might be the first to explore this cache is quite some time."
Zarbyn's INT check: 17

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
Amdaeng holds steady with the rope assisting others to cross using it as a guide.
Iólinder was grateful for the rope. He never was the best athlete and the prospect of jumping over a pit of spikes while wearing armour and carrying a heavy backpack did not appeal to him. He did feel a little pang of envy when he saw how everyone else effortlessly made the jump. It was almost enough for him to regret skipping out on physical training one too many often.
While it looked like Lira's episode had passed, Iólinder still decided to keep an eye on her. Despite healing not being his focus, he still was a cleric and that fact alone compelled him to keep an eye out for everyone else in the group. Though he had to admit that he was starting to feel a bit tapped out. He better save his magic for an upcoming emergency should there be need of it.
“There’s another trap somewhere here.” He says aloud, then the writing catches his attention. “Sheesh this Sultan really was an arrogant jerk.”
'Yes, wielding absolute power unopposed can have that effect on people.' Iólinder replied. He looked at the writings Vydar reacted to. 'So what does that say?'
Next he looked at the bloody writing. He recognised it as Goblin but Iólinder had never bothered to learn it. Goblins were not really known for their written treatises or accounts of warfare. Most of their combat tactics amounted to throwing enough goblins at any problem and it should go away. 'Haven't the foggiest. Curious though that goblins, of all things, managed to find their way here.'
As Iólinder looks ahead, he sees a curious outline forming in his mind at the door. Some sort of magical energy. With the help of Zarbyn, and the thought of a magical trap instead of a mechanical one, his vision snaps into focus. It is certainly a glyph right in between the two doors. The symbol is unfortunately quite recognizable as well. A dragon's skull.
Amdaeng examines the goblin writing, she only knows Northern Allansian Orc and though the two peoples are both Children of Hashak their languages are quite different...she's able to make out a couple of partial words but without context that doesn't help.
She looks at the door with a raised eyebrow, " So I'm guessing hitting it really hard is not an option?"
As Amdaeng looks the words over, she recognizes that it is 8 words. She recognizes the following: "An ---------- of --------will --------- ----------- hungry."
(Number of dashes is not the amount of letters in the words. You will need a way to translate the rest of the writing)
Lev stares at the gauntlets for a moment, then wordlessly hands them to Vydar for no apparent reason... Walking away before the wizard can even look at what he'd been given or object.
He eyes the writing, squinting as he tries to decipher the language. One would think with all the exposure he's had to the language he would have picked up on some, but the harsh tongue was not easy to listen to--for him anyways.
Vydar blinks when Lev hands him the gauntlets. Does he want him to identify them or something? The dark elf doesn't need ANOTHER set of protective gear worn on the arms after all. Shrugging, he stuffs the things into one of his various bags. He can worry about them later.
He stares at the script. If no one in the group can read it, that's a big problem. He knows he could potentially figure out the spell if he casts identify on the door. However, that would involve touching it and for all he knows just walking towards it could trigger the trap.
Intelligence: dirty 20 (Not sure if he'll know anything different than Iolinder as he has different knowledge about magic?)

Lira gives a relieved expression as the sconce slides into place.
"Alright, it should be safe to make the jump now...in theory."

" I can jump that, no problems.", Amdaeng says.
She holds up her rope.

After crossing the pit, Vydar notes the heat coming from storms hat. Seems he was right, there is another unseen trap.
“There’s another trap somewhere here.” He says aloud, then the writing catches his attention. “Sheesh this Sultan really was an arrogant jerk.”
If asked, He will read the writing aloud. “It looks like there is more written in what could be blood. I can’t read that language though.”

If no one is able to locate the trap, he will activate Storms hat to find the exact location.
Vydar does not notice any new traps. (Vydar, Iolinder, and Zarbyn can make Intelligence checks).

(Your instincts tell you this glyph is very deadly)
