The ghast took 2 fire damage in the first round and 2 more fire damage in the second round, but the third fire bolt missed. It will spend it's action to dash 60 and Eldrin will use a bonus action to dash 60, keeping out of melee reach.
Eldrin casts one more cantrip, fire bolt at the ghast (70 ft) and then begins to barrage the ghast with 2nd level magic missiles

As the ghast dies, it's body falls, still reeking with undead Stench. Eldrin will sit down and eat a trail ration while taking a short rest and use arcane recovery to regain a spent 2nd level slot. The expeditious retreat spell will expire, during the short rest, as will the stench. Victorious and somewhat surprised at himself, Eldrin moves into the body of the ghast to salvage it's claws, tongue, head, and heart, to fulfil the job posting. With these monster parts safely stored in a separate sack, he stands back up and looks around, somewhat disoriented and possibly lost. Survival Check 7, to find his way out of the forest of wonders (or possibly run into the party).
He would quickly do a memory check wondering what voices he could mimic that would help him out. He would make a bell sound which indicated that you were mostly spot on, as a kenku, deemed the cursed species he was always afriad others wouldnt talk with him because well- he couldnt speak and of course he wouldnt want to hurt the party.
To The rock gnome Erdon: “But of course. The type of ‘battlefield’ matters not. Having people ready for front, rear, and the flanks are all important. Unless someone is needed for one of the flanks?”
To Edena: “I have mostly been on a frontier post, to be with…” Jason falls silent for a moment, a range of emotions flashing across his face. He quickly shakes his head. “…sorry. I’ve been out on the frontier, with my post of fellow Paladins, some Clerics, and a few others, so I probably don’t have a lot of relevant news.”

You find that while you were harvesting the Ghastly parts that a thick fog had rolled in making it near impossible to find your way until it clears. The sounds of the forest have grown eerily quiet. You are unsure if it is related to the fog, or your recent slaying of the undead abomination.
Edena is chatting quietly with Jason, and every once is a while, doing a quick scan of the surrounding area, including behind her.
Perception: 8
You do not notice anything out of the ordinary. As the sun continues its morning climb a fog begins to form, luckily the trail is easily followed due tot he wrecked trees and torn up earth.
Dungho notices the fog growing and becoming thick. And the trail is becoming less visible as the trees thin out in this section and the ground seems to be getting moist, almost marshy. You surmise you must be getting close to the river or maybe even the one of the famed lakes, known for abundance of fish and other game.

"Nice to meet you. I think...I believe we have a fine group here. The more the better, I think. Let's see if we can find this beastie up ahead. I think we should have all our areas protected for the most part. Let's see what the forest brings us. "
