Esta realizes as she says the haiku, it doesn't seem to fit appropriately and doesn't really bode well for the epitaph. "Hmmm, perhaps not..." And she scuffles into a corner, biting her lip and looking at the shelves, just to avoid eye contact for her poor performance.
The skull growls in frustration. "Ugh you are no help at all! Oh I will never get this done! The exit isn't in here anyway so if you were looking to get out of here you're certainly in the wrong place. Oh just leave me be, I suppose having an eternity spend here means I'll figure it out eventually. Just go." The floating cat-like skull moans horribly again as another piece of parchment gets crumpled and tossed aside.
(Group check failed)
Those around the room can tell that the scrolls are probably death certificates, loosely organized by name. However, everyone in the room would also feel a deathly dampening in the air, as the floating skull continues its dry, brittle moans and swivels now and then to keep an eye on each of you until you leave.
"Time to go now..." Sizzle persists, motioning his companions out of the room. The goblin grumbles under his breath as he turns away from the room and attempts to move down the hallway in the hope of finding an exit.
Noticing that these scrolls are likely death certificates, Halila decides against trying to snatch one. Seeing how agitated the skull is, she agrees with the goblin. "Yea, let's head out." She starts to move back out the door. "I say we move away from the voices."
(I can no longer see any maps... were there doors at the end of the corridors? Halila is suggesting away from the voices, but I'm not sure which way that is at the moment!)
"Look, if Esta's past companions were killed, then I say we don't worry about looking and just leave." Halila looks both directions. "We'll go away from the voices and just see where this hallway goes. Sound good?" She already is slowly moving off in that direction.
Tyriel huffs, this cat scull is hard to please. Whatever, he's not interested in death certificates anyways. He's not dead... yet. He shivers slightly at the thought, becoming overly aware of the fact that this mortal body is gradually dying every second. In a mere flash, everything could be over.
"Yes, let's go," he says sullenly.
He follows the others out, then heads towards whichever door doesn't have voices coming from it...
As Tyriel heads for the door, Halila pauses as she was headed past the door to where the path turns to the east. She quickly takes a peek around the corner to see where it might go. (Perception: 10)
As you head south, the hall takes a right angle to your left and seems to dead end into another hallway. On the right though is a grated iron door, in which you can see a metal chute is set into the wall of the foul chamber. Grisly puddles spatter the floor, and corpses topple from an overturned cart. The stench is gag worthy.
Zarbyn, who'd taken the lead down the south passage stops holding a hand over his nose. Perhaps they'd chosen the wrong path.
"Well, seems the janitor has been slacking!" Says the entity.
Zarbyn turns to the others still holding a hand over his face, "Let's...try the other path." He begins walking past the others and toward the north path instead.
"Probably a wise choice. Who knows, those corpses might just jump up and start attacking us!"
Zarbyn hadn't even considered that, he never thought he'd have to consider anything like that. However, considering how this place is...if that happened it wouldn't surprise him.
"There doesn't seem to be a way out down there. Let's not try it unless we have to."
Halila looks at Zabyn a little perplexed. 'Wouldn't the other hallway possibly be a way out?' she thinks. But she says nothing and follows behind him. It doesn't' hurt her feelings to avoid the spilled corpses.
In an exasperated voice, Halila says, "Doomed Guard Drowned. That's it." (Persuasion: 19) She shuffles just a tiny bit closer to the scrolls again.

Zahkar nods, to Sizzle and swiftly exits the room. Then he quietly proceeds down the hallway he'd scouted earlier.

Esta realizes there's no hope here, and as the others start to walk away, she will follow. "Good luck..." she will say as she walks out the room.
"OK then, pick one. North... or south?" as she points to the 2 doors that are on either end of the corridor.

Sizzle moves away from the voices as well as he heads down the hallway. His backpack jingles with every step as the metallic contents rattle around.
(Which way are you all going, north or south?)
(We heard a sound from the room we went into, not one of the other two! I guess Halila wanders south.)

Sizzle heads south with his crossbow raised at the ready. "I hate this place" he grumbles.
