Tyriel refrains from answering the vixen's question, knowing full well his honest answer would likely incur some sort of negative response. Instead he crosses his arms and stays quiet, waiting for an answer to Halila's question again.
Shemeshka's eyes flit to each of you before she answers. "Yes, I hear you all have had the most unusual arrival in the city. Usually people who make it to the mortuary don't walk back out. I think that qualifies as a curious anomaly, don't you? This happened to all of you?"She gives a look again to each of you in turn.
"The mortuary?" Halila asks. "I didn't... well... I mean I guess that was the building we were in. But we walked out because we weren't dead." She pauses, reflecting for a moment. "Not sure how I got there though in the first place." She then turns to Shemeshka. "How do you even know about any of that? Do you know how we got here in the first place? That's what I really want to know!"
The dark-haired man makes a dismissive gesture towards the tiefling, "Oh please, YOU don't need to call me that. I much prefer Lord over Chief anyways... but don't bother with formalities. We are in the same predicament are we not?" He stands up on the table, and stretches his back then stretches his arms over his head, "Call me Renjin."
Dropping his arms he tilts his head at the metal man. "Slag eh? A fitting name for one such as yourself... Oh haha no no no." He bends down and picks up the bloody sheet that had covered him, "If I were in charge I don't think I would be in the same situation as the rest of you." Then he lets the sheet fall back on the creaky table. "In other words, I have no clue whats happening. Best-" His words are cut off as the floating scull starts speaking again.
"Dead? Haha!" He laughs, "Dead and now not dead. Are you sure? One born of divinity such as myself does not die. ...well... If I were to die I'm pretty sure the demons would drag me strait down to hell, mortal husk and all. So even coming back to life... well I just don't know who would have even cared enough to bring my poor broken remains to be prepared for burial." He shrugs, "Eh, whatever. Makes for an interesting start to whatever story is about to unfold."
He hops off the table, the green-blue tails of his oversized coat flapping as he does, "Sigil? Hmmm, interesting. I feel like I should know where that is but... haha... well I guess dying must of screwed up my memory cause I can't seem to remember much at the moment! Anyways! Sure, Morte my friend! If I ever have the pleasure of visiting with you again, I'll be sure to tell you all about my adventures."
Casually, he walks over to the wall to collect his things. He didn't show it, but he'd been a bit worried he'd have to track down his sword. However, he finds it safe and sound. It has an intricate silver guard, with wrap around the handle matching his coat in color, as well as a pitch black blade. Strapping it back on his belt, he scans the other bodies in the room. His gaze landing on the last table in the far corner. He sees some slight movement, "Hey hey hey! Looks like we have a late riser!" He grins.
The man is dressed in a green-blue trench coat with black fur along the collar, with a black undershirt, black trousers, boots, and black gloves with fur around the wrists. He is average height, and has a handsome face. One might almost call his features angelic...if not for the devilish grin constantly flashing across his face.

Renjin's bold personality and sharp wit make him a fascinating character. His green-blue trench coat with black fur accents and matching gloves add to his striking presence. A look like that wouldn’t be complete without sleek, stylish gloves—something like these black gloves would fit perfectly. With his memory hazy and a mystery unfolding, it’ll be interesting to see where his journey leads!
Esta, absent-mindedly finishing her drink, starts to order another when she realizes her companions have all started following Shemeshka. "Aahh, never mind barkeep, another time!" she says, clumsily vaulting from the stool and moving at a quickened pace. Already she feels the slight effect of the drink, rubbing her eyes in an attempt to snap out of the buzz.
She follows her companions into the private room, her steps slightly unsteady. The conversation inside is already underway, and the mention of the mortuary where she woke up brings back haunting memories. Her heart races as she recalls the cold, lifeless faces of the others who didn't make it.
"Yes, anomaly is true. Curious it is not. What kind of creatures are allowed to roam there so freely? Those... bastards almost killed me. They killed the others, before I met these folk..." she says, her voice trembling slightly. She nods to the group, her eyes filled with a mix of anger and sorrow, as she leans heavily against the wall.
Esta looks away, her gaze distant. She hasn't spoken about this since the chaos began, and the weight of those memories presses down on her. She takes a deep breath, trying to steady herself, but the pain is still raw, the scars still fresh.
The yeti barkeeper turns around with a drink in hand just as Esta begins running off with the others, then looks at Shemeshka and shrugs to himself, putting the drink away and going back to his own business.
Inside the private room, Shemeshka listens and watches patiently, her devilish grin never quite leaving her face. "Yes, you don't seem dead to me, which certainly does beg the question of how or why you ended up where the dead go. I know quite a lot that goes on around here, when I need to. I believe you met one of my...employees, who sent word to me about your unusual arrival here. Fortune just might be smiling though, on you, as your case here is intriguing enough to me that I am willing to look into the matter further for you." Shemeshka looks over at Esta a moment, "The Heralds of Dust? They have an important job, though I can imagine they were quite confused when you all decided to walk out as alive as you seem. They aren't particularly prone to being hostile though."
As Esta speaks of others who had been with her originally and died, Halila grows curious. "We, uh..." Then seeing her distant gaze and the pain on her face, she stops. "I mean, we would appreciate you looking into what happened to us." She turns to Shemeshka as she speaks. "But what should we do while you investigate? I can't imagine that you would just let us stay here for free for all that time."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"I'll stay for as long as the lady wants!" Sizzle interjects with a grin. "So long as we continues to provide us with an allowance of razors that is... I don't think I could afford to stay here too long otherwise." The goblin gives Esta a wink before letting his eyes drift around the room.... looking for anything of interest of value. As he examines his surroundings he casually reaches into his pocket and grabs his bag of coins. "Hey, I am sure a woman of your beauty and wealth probably has loads of gems laying around... Either gifts from would-be suiters or earned through your hard work in running this casino." Sizzle pauses and then looks to the woman and smiles wide once more. "I'm looking for a gem so that I can create a homunculus to help in my... OUR... investigation. I'm willing to pay you for a gem if you happen to have one laying around that you are no longer interested in... Of course I'm not too proud to take a gem as a donation so that I can keep my limited supply of coins to aid in our investigation in other ways." The goblin adds with a simple bow..

Zakhar glances tiredly between Shemeshka and his companions. He's pretty sure he never died, so he's not really sure what the vixen is going on about. He expects the voice to chime in during the conversation, but to his surprise it doesn't... seems it's actually keeping it's word for once.
He glances at Esta, noting the shakiness in her voice. What happened back there will likely haunt her for a while, if not forever... regardless he has no idea what he could say or do to make it better for her. So, he remains silent on the matter.
Turning back to the fox woman, he sighs not really talking to anyone in particular, "I just want to get out of this mess and go home."
Esta s******s a laugh when Shemeshka states they aren't usually prone to violence "Hah, right OK. Maybe they just didn't like the cut of our jib then..."
Esta brushes aside her past feelings to focus on the current conversation. Listening intently, she tries to read the room - looking from each member in turn to see if there is anything to take note on. Perception: 19
Esta, there isn't much else to see in this room, it's a pretty basic meeting room, nice as it is, probably very similar to the few other private meeting rooms in the casino. It's just your group and Shemeshka at the moment, though it seems everyone is maybe a bit anxious?
Shemeshka smiles wider at Halila. "Why yes, in fact there is something you can do for me. I seem have lost one of my monodrones, one that holds quite a bit of...sensitive information regarding my enterprise and associates. It goes by the designation R04M. Last I heard it was heading to, or in the Outlands. Find them and bring them back, before someone else does and accesses that information. While you do that I would be glad to look into your situation for you." Her eyes meet Zakhar and the devilish grin returns. "I'd like that too."
She then looked over at Sizzle and frowned slightly. "I'm afraid I don't have any such gems to give you right now, but I can easily offer you some gold to help. I'm sure if you are savvy enough around the city you can find what you need. How does 300 pieces for each of you sound?"
"Three-hundred pieces... of gold?" Halila asks. "I think we could help you. Though you might need to describe what a monodrone is. And how to get to the Outlands. And did you say its designation is R04M - is that like a name? Is this a person?"
Sizzles eyes go wide. "Uhhh yeah... 300 gold works... thst should fund our little expedition for a while anyway..." The goblin says with a grin. He nods at Halila's questions. "yeah... if you could give us a map or point us towards these outlands... we'll get going in no time..." Sizzle adds as he begins wringing his leather gloved hands together.
Shemeshka looks at Halila again and smiles. "It is not a person really. But it is a sentient entity, more or less. Think more like a small machine with arms and legs, like an automaton. R04M is its designation. I suppose that is kind of like a name, one way to help distinguish it from others. It should respond to that designation just like you would respond to your own name." She then gives a bit more vague description of of what they look like before turning back to Sizzle. "Yes, 300 gold for each of you and I'm so glad to hear you'll help me out with this. I don't have a map, per se, but this is a key to the Outlands portal down in the Clerk's Ward. Look for the statue of a giant, rearing, three-eyed horse, you can't miss it." She then produces a piece of lapis lazuli shaped like an eye. "Just one word of caution: Avoid the Harmonium here in the city. If you get caught again I may not be able to help you." She flashed another smile and stood up. "Well then, if there are no other questions, I'll have my workers at the cages ready your gold for you to pick up on your way out. May fortune favor you all." She then sets the eye cut gem down on a table and heads to the door to leave.
"Wait," Halila quickly says as Shemeshka starts to leave. "Just one more question. Why exactly are these Harmonium folks after us?" There's a hesitation, then she adds. "Also can we keep these fine clothes you provided? Or do we need to return them?"
Shemeshka pauses briefly at the door, "Keep the clothes darling, they look good on you. As for the Harmonium, it sounds like you broke a law of the multiverse, but for specifics you'd have to ask them. Of course, if you do, that means you'd be going right where I suggest you don't go." She gives a faint smile and then slips away off into other parts of the casino and disappears from sight.
"Great!" Halila says in response to keeping the clothes. When Sehmeshka has left, she says to everyone else, "Guess we grab our stuff from our rooms and hit the road! Oh, after we get our gold of course." She also makes sure to pick up the lapis lazuli shaped like an eye that had been left. "Evidently this is a key? We just have to find that Clerk's Ward and the giant 3-eyed horse statue. Was there Clerk Ward where we were before?" she wonders out loud. "And of course, we get to all this while doing our best to be inconspicuous, so those Harmonium folks don't find us! Simple!"
She waits to see if anyone has a better idea of how to find these places, then is ready to go off.
Sizzle is still greedily rubbing his gloved hands together as his companions continue to ask question. "I'm ready to go now. I'll grab the rest of my gear and my coins and we'll be on our way!" The goblin inventor says with a grin as he prepares to head out of the room.
Esta will nod along, interested in the opportunity to collect more gold. "We probably should have asked her how dangerous is this 'Outlands' place... clearly going to be just as perilous as remaining in this forsaken city."
Esta will check her bow, her daggers, padding her self down to ensure she is ready to go. "Well, I didn't dress up so I'm good to go whenever you folks are."
As they leave the room, she turns to Halila - "Perhaps we should ask one of the workers here where this place is, point out directions to us."
