No one else needs to bother rolling. Between Neldak and Etriel, the rooms are thoroughly searched. Others can help if they wish for thematic reasons finding some of this. But there is nothing extra to find with higher rolls.
D4. Surgeon’s Cabin
Under the bed are three vials of antitoxin, a healer’s kit, and a vial of holy water.
D5. First Mate’s Cabin
Nothing additional
D6. Chart Room
This room contains two useful maps: the 6-foot-wide, 6-foot tall map of the Sword Coast on the wall (the last post didn't have the dimensions on. Etriel is welcome to try and take it but it isn't the easiest to transport) and a map of Icewind Dale stored in a map case that lies on the floor. A thorough search of the room also yields a set of navigator’s tools.
D7. Storage
The ropes and nets are salvageable, as are the contents of the barrels. You must use a crowbar or similar tool to pry open a frozen barrel. The first barrel contains a hooded lantern, three flasks of oil, five bars of lime soap, and three sets of manacles. The second barrel holds ten torches.
"Thank you Cirim." Neldak nods in appreciation for the Aid spell. "There's not much here but this stuff looks pretty useful. Can any of you make the most out of these navigator's tools or this healer's kit?" Neldak will pass any of the items to whoever wants them.
Etriel Darastrix is delighted with the outcome of her collaboration with Neldak: the way he uncovers one useful item after another seems almost magical to her.
"They seem like interesting tools," the eladrin huntress comments, seeing the Healer's Kit and Navigator's Kit, "but unfortunately, I don't yet know how to use them correctly and effectively."
The second map, however, fascinates her no less than the first... while the first has the virtue of completeness, the second focuses on the areas the party is currently traveling through! The foreign traveler then suggests: "If it's okay with you, I'd keep the maps... while the four of you could each keep the holy water (useful if we find the undead) and the others an antitoxin (so in the event of poisoning, there's a good chance the victim can be saved)."
The 6'x6' map is certainly cumbersome when unfolded... it's certainly meant to be hung on a wall rather than spread out and consulted while traveling - but no way Etriel Darastrix could leave such an object on a ship forgotten by all: she therefore patiently endeavors to fold it, enlisting the help of her Mage Hand to fit it into her backpack as well. [[ OOC: If it's a map on paper or parchment, folding it should be a somewhat tedious task, perhaps, but not exceptionally difficult... not much worse than folding a sheet, I imagine. ]]
Cirim's healing spell then helps to wash away even the last traces of fatigue, and with a newfound confidence and a smile of measured but profound elven satisfaction, the foreign traveler is ready to continue the exploration: "Truly, Lady Cirim, your healing and supportive influence is a blessing to us all. I am really grateful."
[[ OOC: I'd say to go towards D8, to complete the examination of all areas on this level of the ship. ]]
“Thank you Cirim, I certainly feel stronger!” Danon’s main interest is the maps, although he does pocket a set of manacles, feeling they might be useful in the future. He turns to Etriel about the healer's and navigator's kit, "Unfortunately, neither do I. But I am very interested in these maps..I'll keep a vial of the antitoxin, in case it is needed. Let's go further, down further below deck." Danon moves forward, generating heat to match the cold air on the ship.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
As a reminder, D8 is blocked by a layer of ice. It's quite thick, and could easily take an hour to melt away. Or twice as quick to remove if you have a tool such as a pickaxe.
Sensing that Danon is as interested in the maps as she is, Etriel Darastrix then offers him one of the two: "Choose whichever you prefer, oh sweet guest of my soul. It's a more equitable distribution... and it won't make much difference, considering" her green eyes shining with pride and serenity "that you have chosen to always remain by my side. Which would you rather guard? The one of Icewind Dale, or the one of the Sword Coast?"
Realizing how problematic it seems to be to explore the last room on this level—and considering that this room is blocked by ice and therefore enemies are not likely to suddenly emerge from it, the eladrin huntress leads the party down the stairs to the lower level. [[ And thus arriving at D9, I would say ]]
Neldak will accept Etriel's help and guidance for investigating each room.
