Don't worry, as per request, my NPCs don't flirt with Merkas or sexualize him in any way. To Ororana, Merkas is the equivalent of a hyperactive kiddo that she has both the pleasure, and burden, of protecting. She likes his chaos and thinks he's adorable. When she calls him baby, it's literal, not flirty. 😅 Like when you call a himbo "baby". Ironically, I'm pretty sure Merkas is older than Ororana.
Which reminds me, SunDial365, my world is poly/pan. Your orientation and gender is yours to deterimine and will be respected, but the culture (at large) doesn't hold manogamous values, and believe that love and/or desire is at its best when shared. On that premise, there is no one sexier in Krynn than someone with class levels. Y'all are super rare, and are the rock stars of the world. While not everyone will be pining for you, it's non uncommon in my world for NPCs to flirt with you or even be willing to date/bed/wed, unless that's a boundary for you. At which point, anything you are not comfortable with will be "switched off." Taking a partner or partners comes with some intrinsic benefits. Devoted partners will be Helpful in the mechanics sense, and can provide things like housing, crafting/enchantment skills, Downtime services, Heroic Inspiration, can travel with you to carry your stuff, fight by your side, and such. But you won't be penalized if that's not your vibe. Platonic friends can do the same thing. The idea is not to promote sexuality and romance in the game, but to allow for it to enhance your sense of immersion.
Ororana is Helpful to Dawnbound, and if Hastos and Sera were down, would definitely hit it. As for your character, since you (the player, not the character) haven't specified a preference or boundaries, remains romantically uninterested, but values your life and contributions in combat nonetheless. She would risk death to protect any one of you.
Furthermore, if you decide that you want to add a love/romance dynamic to your character, anything beyond PG-13 is kept "off camera." Once things start involving genitals, we fade to black in respect to forum rules. If, however, you are uncomfortabe with reading romantic or sexual content up to PG-13, we can change the rating to suit your comfort levels. You can declare your boundaries here, or message me privately if that is better for you.
As we approach Halloween, my annual Trick or Treat game is coming...
I'll explain the rules now, as a teaser.
An imp trickster will appear and offer you an opportunity...
Roll any dice of your choosing. Odd = Trick, Even = Treat. You may choose not to roll and the imp will simply vanish. If you attack the imp, it will curse you and then vanish. If you accept the deal, you get whatever's coming to you.
Not all tricks are bad. They're just tricky sometimes. Some tricks are harmful, but in a playful way. Like, it may visibly turn you into a monster for a day. You'll keep all your stats and abilities, but you'll look horrifying. One such trick was a magic eye patch. When worn, you could see two visions: your exposed eye sees what's going on in front of you. Your covered eye sees what's going on through the perspective of another mysterious eyepatch wearer who is searching for the other eyepatch (usable 1x per day for 10 minutes). Using the eyepatch causes Disadvantage on attacks and spells that require sight. But you can tell what the person hunting you down is doing (and therefore how close they are to finding you and putting a dagger through your heart to get that eyepatch back). If you manage to get both eyepatches, you can share the other eyepatch with whomever you like and instantly share audiovisual information across any distance within the same plane. If you manage to befriend the person hunting you down, you gain access to a mid-level spy and assassin who can take on secret missions for you and report back instantly. The eyepatch could not be removed by normal means, though. There's a trick to it. And no, it's not Dispel Magic. But it's rather handy for seeing in places you couldn't normally see. For instance, if you don't have darkvision, but the other eyepatch wearer does, you can travel and see through the eyepatch if you're both in the same area, without broadcasting your presence with a torch or spell that produces light.
None of the treats are bad, but they are randomly selected. Some are highly useful, others are mere trinkets that can be kept, enchanted, and/or sold/bartered away. The Treat chart even has Legendary items in it, like Armor of Invulnerability. Or you could just end up with a scrimshaw bone or carapace that will look lovely in your guild hall.
Hey are we not still on the same day we met easterbunny?
It's the day after, but only barely. We're getting a play-by-play on action, so it's almost too easy to measure time, but clocks work weirdly in DND time by necessity. 😅
Basically, the party was coming to an end when Dawnbound was entering the tunnels. And that party went into the wee hours. There was already only a few hours left until dawn when The Laughing Dwarf started closing up shop. Time spent out of combat is presumed to have been spent exploring the tunnels... somewhat haphazardly. So, it's safe to say you've been down here for at least a full hour, if not two. Dawn will come soon, but it's presumed that most of Santekh will sleep in a bit and be rising, as it gets too hot to sleep, with thumping hangovers.

Merkas is just little baby…
but oh cool! Yeah I’m good with that! I’m in my 20s so PG-13 stuff is all good with me. Sorry I replied late to this thread I was rushing last night ahh.
I think Nare would be asexual but probably panromantic! I’m AroAce myself but also I just think it is funny for a bunny to not be into sex and reproduction at all.
the bunny would not know how to flirt for shit tho

Okie dokie. In that case, as your character earns rapport, you can probably expect to get flirted with. It's ok if their advances bounce right off Nare. As someone who has dated an aroace, I have a distinct understanding of how to shrug it off when romantic overtures misfire. 😅 Most NPCs will view it as "ok, they just wanna be friends" and leave it at that. Some will find it oddly alluring, and a few (representative of toxic or immature behavior) may be offended. Ororana is definitely in the first category. But you may meet your Gaston types who just won't understand why a prized specimen such as themselves could ever be rejected. I keep that rare, and reserve it for already unlikable characters though.
Ororana tends to be aromatic, but hypersexual. She's got a "bone" to pick with just about anyone, if they're into it.
☺️ I love my aroace friends. They're abolute treasures. There is literally no sexual tension or stress to be performative in a relationship with someone who has no sexual or romantic agenda. 🤭You can literally cuddle with them in your underpants, binging shows, in the most wholesome way you could possibly imagine. And their gestures are always so pure. My roommate (who took me in while I'm going through the worst era of my life) noticed that I had been feeling particularly down. I wasn't taking care of myself, and had been muttering a lot of self-hate without even realizing I was doing it. He bought me a bouquet of flowers in a vase, telling me they were pretty flowers for a pretty lady. I took them to the room he lent me, and had a good cry about it. I cleaned up and dressed up the next day, even if it was just to binge some anime with him. It made my whole week. I'm literally tearing up just thinking about it. When I felt like the whole world hated me, he reminded me that he thought I was a beautiful person.
If you find, or already have an aroace friend, keep them safe and loved. They're angels on earth.
I would love to see Sera build a temple and start sermonizing with that foul-mouthed tongue of hers! I'd go to that temple. 🤣
Ok, lemme find my notes on what you find in the treasure room. You'll have to consider your encumberance, which may force you to choose which items you take and which items you leave. A sack can carry 30 pounds of supplies, but Merkas does have a Bag of Holding to help out a little. And, apparently, the wind fan spell is still in effect. So, several of the piles are scattered. But there were 15 piles.
Oki..the 4 zombies produce 4 diamonds..I guess Orerana quickly snatch one but the other 3. 2 is for Merkas and 1 is for Nare?. Sera take them if no one else show big interest cause she need diamond dust for spellcomponents.
after turning on the water we take the most valuable items. Do we have a list?

Figure Sera and Nare should get to roll for special items like we did. Merkas left his backpack behind so he has extra carry capacity right now on top of the bag of holding capacity.

Ok, but I just want to warn you, that one of the things I was super concerned about in v1, was that the adventurers were taking no treasure and no loot for themselves to better equip their characters. The way it was going, I was genuinely concerned that y'all would not have been well equipped enough to handle the final boss by the time you got there beause of it. Adventurers are expected to treat themselves. It's a commonly accepted trope of the genre. It's why there are quests like this, the Letni Inhelk mission, and the dragon's nest in this game. If you treat it like an MMO, and loot every damn thing you find, you'll be so rich and powerful by level 12, you could buy your own army and march on Takhisis yourself if you wanted. So you don't necessarily have to vacuum up everything you find. But I wanted to give you oppostunities to choose when to clean house, when to skim off the top, and when to share the wealth with the NPCs you deem worthy. You were underlevelled for the boss in this dungeon (because you were technically supposed to find her at a much higher level) but better gear could've balanced the equation.

I had you roll because you were grabbing things as you rush out the door. No need to roll this time. You just carefully assess the treasure and take what you wish to carry.
Merkas can have ‘em. LOL
