I've been DMing for a few years and I'd like to get better at running PbP games. I run a PbP game for some college friends and I want to have a second game where I can improve my PbP/DMing skills, and test out monsters and enviroments before subjecting my friends to them. I need guinea pigs.
Looking for 3-5 players who like: keeping track of coin weight, keeping track of rations, random monster tables, low-magic settings.
The game would revolve around expeditions into a dangerous forest to loot dungeons/monster lairs and then making it out of the forest, spending treasure in town, and prepping for the next expedition.
I'd like to aim for posting once a day, but that's not a hard and fast thing.
We would use these variant rules: Slow Natural Healing, Healers Kit Dependency, Variant Encumbrance, Coin Weight Matters, Lingering Injuries.
Character's would be created from this very short list of options. Characters start at 3rd level.
I'd be up for giving this a go. I'm usually pretty fluid with my rules on carry capacity etc. with players, but would like to see what it's like in the low fantasy style game. Here's my character
Name:Farrona Mistclaw Race: Human Class: Ranger Background: Outlander Backstory:
Farrona grew up in the forest with her family. Her father was a lumberjack while her mother was one whom cared for the sheep and goats. She lived mostly isolated from the rest of society, only seeing others when her father took her along on the journey to the nearest town, three days' travel away. From her father she learnt to use a sword and a bow, while her mother showed her tracking and animals.
She was out one night, doing some tracking of her own in an attempt to catch a rabbit for that evening's dinner. However, she saw smoke rising from their home; a lot more than a stove fire would do. The entire area was scorched in unholy fire; fiendish monsters roaming free. She had to flee, knowing that she had nowhere else to go, she took what she had and left to find someone who could tell her what those fiends were, and how she can hunt them down.
From there she met an old mystic in another part of the world; one who told her about the old ways, and that of nature magic. She learnt to adapt to the darkness, and to hunt in the shadows, to track and kill such creatures with her weapons, and that she would need to get stronger and claim better weapons to fight the monsters she saw that night.
Note: If fiends aren't gonna be a major thing, maybe switch it for something more suitable (may as well try and make Favoured Enemy useful after all...)
I'm willing to play a Ranger. They've always interested me and I've never played the class. I'll start by using Point-Buy, as a half-elf. Unfortunately, I'll need some content shared with me to use some spells I need.

Would like to multi-class from your list, if I survive to lvl 6.
If you're going to be this hardcore, would be nice to have a battle map too. Using terrain, positioning makes a difference.
Also:
I am interested in this as well. When would I need to have a character created by if you were to pick me?

He's a half-elf ranger, and a former soldier. He's currently a freelance tracker and monster hunter.

I would be interested can do a half orc fighter if you got room
o I see someone has said a half orc fighter...if that’s the case I’d do a half orc rogue...either one
I see there's already a ranger, and I can retool Conway into a warlock if need be.
