Back at the inn Adrian sighed with relief and donned his leathers, feeling better with his weapons back. He went downstairs and asked about the next Canal barge to Waterdeep, the sooner they got out of here the better. Two hours to go. He ordered tea and a large goblet of cream for Exa.
The Casino still had patrons fleeing the death throws of the Minotaur, without its rod it came to a standstill, the magic dissipating. No-one has yet found Quentin and the Guards.
After finally dropping her guise altogether up at the room, the young dark-haired lady would calmly join Adrian downstairs and enjoy some tea and bisquits while awaiting the barge back to Waterdeep.
Mavilius sauntered in a few minutes after Delilah and slipped into the seat beside her. He masked the hum of satisfaction in his chest with an air of weary nonchalance, though the smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth betrayed him. “Well,” he murmured low enough for only her and Adrian to hear, leaning back as though utterly at ease, “I’d call that a successful evening’s entertainment." He reached for a biscuit from Delilah’s plate, eyes glinting with sly amusement as he added, “Now let’s just hope our exit is as graceful as our performance.”
The young dark-haired lady raises and eyebrow in displeasure as the minstel pinches one of her dear bisquits but then gives him a wink and a teasing smile. "Yes, it all went very smoothly...again. It's like I'm hoping the Golden Vault will give us more of a challenge for our next mission." She says quietly, leaning back in an almost blasé way. "It's a shame there won't be any spa party for you to attend dearest. We will have to make that up to you somehow once we're back in Waterdeep."She adds with a playful glint in her eyes.
I've got tickets for the next boat headed for Waterdeep. It will be nice to get home, not that I didn't enjoy your company, but I have things to do.
You need another member of the team before the next Golden Vault message. Althea will ask around.
Jasper will look forward to assessing the gemstones we took for the team, we have a good haul. You've got more than enough for Verity. I imagine that she'll be well pleased!
Exa bounces on the balls of her feet as they head back to the Mask headquarters, excited to have their prizes appraised and to inform their employer of their job well done.
"I can't wait to see the look on Verity's face when we tell her about the mess we left Quentin to clean up," she says mischievously to her companions.
"Ah yes, she should be pleased with what we have accomplished to rectify the misdeeds against her." The young dark-haired lady agrees with a small amused smile. Once back she would insist on some celebrations, planning on a spa visit and a luxurious restaurant by the sea to savour their success, but otherwise she would be ready for the next mission from the Golden Vault. She isn't particularly interested in the wealth they had acquired unless it would allow her to purchase some new interesting trinket from the temple.
Mavilius chuckles, his golden eyes gleaming with mischief. “Wouldn’t it be delicious if Verity decided to buy the casino out from under Quentin, at a bargain of course as his reputation plummets? I’d pay good coin to see the look on his face.” He hums thoughtfully, already distracted by future pleasures. “As for me, I’m eager to see what the temple vendors may have acquired since our last visit. I do so enjoy being surprised.”
The companions were soon back in Waterdeep and headed for the Map Room where High Cleric Althea was waiting for them with Verity. You saw sitting on the chairs a dwarf with curly blonde hair and Jasper the gem assayer.
Good Haul? Althea remarks.
Adrian nods then took his customary place behind her with his black fabric mask back on. We may have put more in Veritys bag than she asked for. Waterdhavian mint Golden dragons, and platinum suns, and the statue as requested. He gestures at Exa clutching Veritys bag of holding.
Behind her chifon mask Althea smiled and took the bag from Exa. Rather than trying to look inside the bag Althea passes it to Verity. Who looked like she'd sucked on a lemon.
Opening the bag she whispered her password and pushed her hands in amongst the gold and platinum, all mine she sighs as she clenches the statuette. She counts out 400 gold pieces and pushes the money across the table to the companions. For your trouble, she says. Then she nods at Althea, we're done thank you.
Althea gestures at one of the young masked clerics hovering, and they took Verity by the arm and showed her out.
Jasper jumped up and took the companions bag from Adrian, almost squeeing in excitement. He carefully poured the contents over the tabletop, sighing with contentment. You remembered he says, and gets his loupe out, he will be a little while. He was particularly enamoured of the rough cut emerald necklaces from the Dao.
Excellent all 5, definitely collectors pieces. Rough cut to show the raw energy of emeralds in the dim light almost luminous. We could sell these now to our faithful, 20,000 a necklace to the highest bidders.
Adrian leaned forward and took one, my expenses the rest belongs to these three.
Jasper nodded indeed. Now let us see 9 rubies good for signets 5000 a piece. 6 star sapphires good for enchantments 5000 a piece . Oh my a diamond, perfectly clear with no occlusions best for a womans betrothal ring 10000. Is that all little bag? and he gave it a good shake.
Let me see all of these shared between 3, first take off the 10% of guild tithes. Here you are. He holds out his ledger 55,000 GP each!
So now down to business, you are short a party member and I can't leave Adrian with you. I'd like you to meet Bronnryn Hethgar a trusted cleric of Mask , Trickery Domain.
Please get to know each other before the next job. Althea says then left the room with Adrian in tow.
The dwarf woman stands as Althea mentions her name. "Hi. Uh... good to meet you," she says with a warm tone. She looks around a bit nervously at each of you. "So. Hmm. I'm a Cleric."
Bronnryn is a bit over 4 feet tall, perhaps marginally taller than average for most dwarves. Most notable is probably her curly blonde hair, which comes down past her shoulders. Her skin is very fair andc she had light hazel colored eyes. Her chubby face is sprinkled with freckles across her ruddy cheeks.
She is wearing a dark green shirt over a chain shirt. And as she stands, a mace can be seen at her belt. Behind her chair is a shield.
"Guess we have a little time before the next job?"
Her steps so graceful that she almost seemed to hover, a lady in an elaborately decorated long dark dress floats into the map room under the temple dedicated to Mask. She gives the dwarf with curly blonde hair a scrutinizing look with her clear blue eyes. Her hair is dark and adorned with beautiful butterflies and there is an almost regal air about her. She merely raises an eyebrow as the gnome treasurer of the temple announces her immense share in the profits of the heist they had just completed. "A cleric, a maskarran one I presume?" She says in a soft melodious voice to the blonde dwarf. "Good to have you on the team. I am Delilah, but recently I have admittedly gone by many other names." She says with an amused smile as she leans closer to the dwarven cleric.
(OOC I'll leave you to introduce yourselves before we discuss the next heist)
Jasper looked at the four of them. I take it that you are interested in enchanted items? I can arrange a nice selection for you to view. Tell me if you have a specific item in mind. Only the best prices here, no price gouging.
You could of course buy a small house in the Merchant District if you so wanted, but I'm sure that you'd soon die of boredom or end up at the Yawning Portal inn.
Mavilius rises smoothly from his seat, one hand flourishing out as though he were already on stage. His pink skin catches the lamplight warmly, and his golden eyes shine with a soft, almost otherworldly gleam. The cut of his fine clothes marks him as someone who cares about appearances, while the bright colors and polished lute slung on his back leave little mystery as to his profession.
With a charming smile that borders on roguish, he dips into a theatrical bow, tail flicking behind him for emphasis. "Ah, a cleric of our dear Mask! A blessing indeed.” His tone carries a playful lilt, but there’s genuine warmth beneath it. “Mavilius, at your service. Bard, poet, scholar...Whatever role the job requires, really."
Turning his attention to Jasper, he thinks for a moment before speaking again with a look of excitement. "An Amulet of Proof against Detection and Location would be excellent. For an excellent bargain, of course?"

"Another success!" Exa says confidently before taking a large, noisy gulp of the cream that leaves a moustache across her toothy grin.
"Poor old Quentin will be reeling from that for a while I think."
