"Excellent idea. Perhaps one of us could replace him as well? We use his guise to get our work done, then he wakes just in time to deal with the consequences." The tiefling suggests in a conspiratorial tone.
"Yes, exactly what I was thinking dearest, if one of us can make him drink the sleeping potion in his office we could keep him in there while our Quentin goes to the vault and collects the gold and the minotaur skeleton. With it there should be no trouble convincing those in the security room to play nice, then we free the Dao's, then our Quentin and the minotaur skeleton collects the statuette and then we leave and let the real Quentin loose on our way out to take the heat for all that has happened. Who will be Quentin though?"Delilah says, looking around at the others.
"That is a pity, Kyreth was supposed to apply for the position as security guard with access to the security room. Perhaps you can follow up on that plan?" The dark-haired lady asks Adrian.
"Whoever is going to take Quentin's place should spend some more time with him. Learn his mannerisms. Try to match how he speaks. Those sorts of things that will really sell the switch,"Exa suggests with an agreeable nod.
I've got papers from Zhentil Keep asking for help to find a traitor in the ranks. A bounty hunter basically, they are real papers we liberated them down in the Docks..
Do you have a brooch? It is the one thing that I don't have.
His backpack is still here on his bed, he can't have gone far. Most likely downstairs drinking his favourite tea until the barge arrives. I'll go and look for him.
"I have been meaning to branch out into acting," he remarks with a smirk, "I'd be happy to take on the role of Quentin if no one objects. A bard befriending their patron shouldn't create too much suspicion."
Adrian goes downstairs and looks around the bar, there in the corner next to the smaller fire sat Kyreth tending a pot of tea.
Well met says Adrian who has not resumed his disguise.
Problems back home, I've got to go. Here you'll need this, and he passes Adrian the brooch
Then he pours out an extra tea mug and hands it to Adrian. They sat there chatting until the barge arrived at midnight and Kyreth took his things, wished his friends well and departed.
"Excellent, the Quentin part goes to our dear minstrel." The dark-haired lady exclaims with a pleased smile. "While I feel we already have a good idea on how we want this to play out there's still much information gathering to do the coming days, but hopefully we can meet back here to brief each other every night after our shift is over. We should also keep our eyes open for others that might interfere with our plans, like that Karlton Keyes for instance. That being said I think we should be pleased with where we already are." She finishes, laying back comfortably on her bed. The room back at the temple certainly was more to her liking but this was not bad, and she was on a mission after all so some sacrifices was to be expected.
The young dark-haired lady too settles in for the night, slipping out of her dark dress before sliding into her fairly comfortable bed, enjoying pleasant dreams about their heist at the Afterlife Casino.
Adrian rises early and takes a small hand mirror out of his backpack. He swops clothes including his hooded cloak for a thick wool one and casts disguise self. His changes into a male Teifling. Time to visit Quentin. He leaves a short note for the party on his bed, and softly pulls away the velvet curtain.
He goes downstairs for a simple breakfast of porridge with hot spiced tea, nodding at a hungover Smithy, making sure that his brooch is in full view.
Smithy pulls up a chair next to Adrian. Well met what are you here for?
Adrian nods at him and pulls some papers out of his pocket. Bounty, my leads say that he is on his way here. Until then I'm just looking for employment. You?
I'm chief of security at the Afterlife Casino, maybe we could use an extra hand. How are you with those knives? says Smithy.
Adrian smiles, no complaints from dead bounties yet!
Security are allowed weapons but you still have to wear the uniform. Any problems with that?
No, makes sense.
Smithy takes a gulp of coffee, finish your breakfast and come with me to the barges, I'll take you to Quentin.
On the other hand, Exa languishes in her bed as late as possible before she pulls herself up and makes her way down to the common room of the inn, still in her natural tabaxi form. She notices Smithy in discussion with tiefling Adrian, but otherwise pretends she doesn't she them. Instead, she takes up a table with her companions for breakfast.
"What are our plans for today?" she asks quietly with her mouth half full.
"I thought I might try to find out more about the tournament day. Like what staff will be on, where, what time, and so on. We also need to figure out Quentin's habits so we know our best opportunity to... you know," and she mines falling asleep on her hands.
The young dark-haired lady was not a particularly early riser but she was already having a light but pleasant tasting breakfast at the table downstairs as Exa arrived. "Yes, I suppose we will all gather as much information as we can, about Quentin's habits for instance, while keeping a fairly low profile to not raise suspicion, and then meet back here tonight to compare our findings."She says calmly, taking a sip of her coffee.
"Indeed, indeed,"Mavilius agrees, drinking the last of his tea and strumming a gentle tune on his lute to start the day off right, "With an emphasis on 'fairly'. It is simply my nature to stand out just a bit. I'll do what I can to ingratiate myself to Quentin without coming on too strong." He grins mischievously.
"I'll try to stay out of his way then. All of the new hires suddenly wanting to be his best friend might set off an alarm or two. I'll focus on the rest of the staff," Exa says through a mouthful of food, half of which crumbles back to her plate.

Adrian nods at them, that sounds like a good plan. Kyreth is needed by the High Cleric, I'm his replacement for the duration of this heist.

Adrian slips in the door and takes Kyreths bed, pulling the thick velvet curtain closed behind him. Luckily he didn't snore.
He'd tipped the innkeeper with some extra silver to make the common room theirs for three more days board and lodging.
Mavilius settles into bed as well with a mischievous smile.

Adrian
Leaving the punt that he and Smithy had crossed the Styx on, Adrian tossed the ferry man two coppers, and received a nod in return.
Smithy gestures towards the hostesses and one came over to them.
Morning Smithy she said with a toothy grin, hello there I'm Nina. Are you here to play or for a job?
Looking for a job for now, in security. says Adrian.
Do you want me to take your friend to Quentin? asks Nina of Smithy
Yes please, then if Quentin takes him on, take him for a short tour of the Casino. There's only so much of a tour I can do on the mirrors!
She nods towards Adrian and gestures him to walk with her to the employees only area.
