Vogan's eyes actually widen a bit at the news. Sensing, however, feelings of impatience from some of his fellows, Vogan kept from asking more and chose to nod in gratitude. "Indeed. The sooner we can be about it, the sooner we can get out of each others hair. Wouldn't you agree?" Vogan said, and then flashed a toothy grin at the guard to set the man more at ease.

You approach a once-majestic facade. Once-bright-white marble pillars line the building, which is doubtlessly only a sliver of the dungeon's size. A single entrance leads to a dark room inside, whose contents you cannot make out without darkvision.
For those with it:
At this angle, a single hallway is visible, along with the corners of presumably the room's other walls.
Excited to finally be at the dungeon Colten has a large smile on his face.
“It seems that we have arrived. I am able to enchant one item anyone is holding to make it produce light for an hour if anyone wants me to. There is no other way to go other than forward.”
Colten will cast light on any item someone asks him to. Colten will move forward keeping his eyes open for traps or monsters.
Corwin casts light on a rock and puts it into his hooded lantern.

[[OOC: Is that the facade of some new building or structure? IIRC, we had only seen a wooden guardhouse:
After rounding one of the many hills, you come into view of a wood-wrought guard's stop. The rickety building, even from a distance, appears hastily constructed.
A single entrance leads to a dark room inside, whose contents you cannot make out without darkvision.
Dreet has darkvision, but he'd certainly prefer to have at least some light while exploring this dungeon. For now, Dreet will equip his sword and shield. (If anyone wants to cast Light on him, they could cast it on his shield, which should generally be facing any opponents.) He's not sure how dangerous the dungeon is, but the dragonborn feels better when he has a weapon in his hand. Dreet suggests, "Our squad should decide what marching order to use for today."
Does the light reveal any more details of this first room?
"Oof! A little warning there next time would've been nice!" Vogan said half jokingly while trying to shield his eyes. He goes back to reaffixing his own lantern to his belt, as he'd just been about to light it. Vogan than looks to Colten and says, "I think we're fairly covered on the lighting, BUT if our dragonborn friend still wishes for it then by all means. Hm. Wait, what does that say?" He makes his way over to the writing if its still visible in the light, and after some squinting at it, hms and haws before finally taking off his pack and cluttering gear. Then he tries to do a handstand and look at the writings from a different angle.

(OOC: This is an old structure a while past the guard stop. On my map, it's about 1/4 of a mile away from the stop.)
Going into the room, you see... a room. It's not particularly large, but on one wall is a scratched-out map of the area. Three exits (four, counting the one you came in from) are arranged at 90-degree angles from each other in the room.

(OOC: @Paysien - I'm having a hard time picturing what the PCs are seeing here. It sounds like you're talking about a marble building above ground. Is the "dungeon" itself above ground? If so, I guess we would be able to see more of the exterior structure than this first pillar-lined facade and entrance.
Or are we immediately underground once we enter? In that case, is the initial facade below ground level with an excavated path down to the entrance? Or is the first room built into a hill or mountain so that the first room is effectively already underground with only the "front" wall visible from the outside? Or is the initial building entirely aboveground, and the other three exits from the first room simply head down into an underground dungeon?
From the description, it sounds like the first room is a blank rectangle with one exit in each wall. Are the walls also marble or brick? Is the floor solid or dirt? Do the exits immediately open into other rooms? Or are they tunnels? If they're tunnels, do the run straight beyond the reach of our Light? Or do they end or turn a corner before then? Are the tunnels level, ascending, or descending?)

Or is it a sort of bas-relief, raised lettering? Or is the inscription carved into the stone, like runes? How big are the individual graphemes? How large is the entire inscription both in amount of writing and in total surface area covered?)

To clarify here, a small portion of the dungeon is unearthed and above-ground, this building/facade/structure/whatever is the tiny bit that pokes above the surface. The best approximation would be something like the very top of a church's steeple or the Eiffel Tower's antenna peeking out whilst the rest of the building is buried when you compare it to the size and relative positioning of the rest of the structure.
