Well, there goes my alternate idea of the street-thug/con artist halfling rogue ;)
EDIT: Just saw Ru's most recent post. Could do my arcane tinkerer (arcane trickster rogue) for the main campaign and my street rat (also arcane trickster, different intent, more magical flare) for the second ;) Ru knows that if I can get 10min of brainstorming, I'll have 3 more submissions ready lol.

“Spirit. In every language in all the Realms, surface and Underdark, in every time and every place, the word has a ring of strength and determination. It is the hero's strength, the mother's resilience and the poor man's armor. It cannot be broken and it cannot be taken away.”
A part of me is thinking the second group for this game will be The Rogue's Gallery with an all rogue party (or anyone who seems to have the 'I am thief' kinda backstory), and while it will still follow the adventure, I expect it might follow a completely different feeling than a variety party would.
I would be interested in this. Rogues are so versatile and the setting is so appropriate. Could play my Bard or rebuild my airship pilot as a Swashbuckler, though neither are really thief types. The Bard is more Sleuth and the Pilot is more of a fancy melée fighter.
Name: Sorn Hun'ett Age: 87 (Unknown to him) Race: Drow (Variant - Sun-Acclimated) Class: Warlock Desired Background: Criminal Moral Compass: NE Backstory: Having woken in the sewers of Sharn five years ago, Sorn was left wounded, disheveled, broke, and with no memory of himself or this city. Certain that he is expected dead; he found what he expects is his name among his belongings, before disposing of the gear and starting life anew.
He could sense his magic inside him and instinctively called upon it to change his appearance. In time he developed multiple personas, each aiding his natural drive for wealth.
He has been trying to keep a low profile, using what earnings he's made through the thieves guild to open a small merchant shop, which has now become the front to his criminal activities. The guild does not know his true identity, in fear that they may have been the one's that sought to kill him in the first place. Description of how they look: Sorn himself looks like a fairly average Drow, when he looks like himself. Most of the time he looks like someone else, someone that doesn't actually exist; actually multiple someones.
Sern Hun is the human shop owner he disguises himself as most. With long brown hair, goatee, and dark tanned skin, he looks nothing like his normal self; but more and more this feels like his true face.
Tori Ettor, human thief, his dark black skin is aided with the black beard and afro he wears, he sticks mostly to the shadows and is the persona he uses when dealing with the thieves' guild.
Wern Thrashal is the Elf bodyguard of Sern Hun, armed for combat. Dressed in armor he uses his large form to intimidate his opposition.
Krul Tenuh, Drow mute laborer. Covered in scars, he keeps most his appearance hidden; and Tom Tunnelwell, Human delivery boy.

Character Option One (Could work for either the mixed group or the Rogues' Gallery, but the mixed group would probably be better.)
Name: Cassandra Skyfire
Age: Approximately 18 years
Race: Human (Variant)
Class: Sorcerer 1 (Divine Soul)
Background: Sailor
Moral Compass: Chaotic Neutral (Strongly independent and hot-headed, though she definitely leans closer to good than evil.)
Backstory:
Cassandra's earliest memory is of waking up on the deck of a ship, soaking wet, with a tall half-elf leaning over her having just fished her out of the sea. Everything before that, except for her own first name, is a misty haze that she hasn't been able to see through yet.
She hasn't let that stop her though. Despite being only in her teens at the time, and bearing a strange mark that didn't belong to any of the dragonmarked houses, she was allowed by Captain Syrrus to serve as cabin crew aboard the Silver Phoenix, and she quickly established herself as a valuable member of the crew both for her hard work and for the mystical control over fire that she soon began to exhibit.
She would go on to spend the next four years of her life aboard the Silver Phoenix and under Syrrus's tutelage, slowly gaining a measure of control over her abilities that would become quite a boon when dealing with attacking ships. Now, however, she has decided it's time to start looking into her past, and she has set out on her own (with her crew's blessing) to discover what she may.
Before parting ways with her captain and mentor, he gave her a very particular piece of advice that she has not forgotten.
"Don't show ANYONE your mark."
Description: Female human in her late teens, with a wiry, athletic build and long, vibrant red hair that is usually braided to keep it of her way. She has silver colored eyes and a smattering of freckles.
This looks to be a potentially quite interesting adventure, so here's my first application. Still need a bit more time to think on a second.
Out of curiosity, will there be any content sharing for this campaign?

Edit: Withdrawing Orrik because I'm using him in a different campaign. Revised Character Submission below.
Name: Fox (Jackal is also an option)
Age: 11 years (young adult for his race)
Race: Shifter (Longtooth)
Class: Warlock (Fiend Patron)
Desired Background: Urchin or Haunted One
Moral Compass: Neutral (very much a does what he has to kind of mentality)
Backstory:
Born in the Lower City of Sharn, Fox grew up on the streets with the others of his kind in the city, stealing what they needed to survive, fighting when they had to, and running when fighting wasn't an option. Once, while running from a group of monstrous mercenaries under contract with the Boromars, Fox stumbled into and fell down a tunnel leading to the Cogs. Badly injured in the fall, he could not escape from the evil entity he encountered in the shadows and could only plead for his life. Darkness took him, but he awoke to find himself back in his "home" in Lower Dura, like it had been nothing but a dream. Since that day, his Beast Within has grown more fierce and bloodthirsty, attributes Fox struggles to control so as not to get in to more trouble than he can handle.
Description: About 5'4" and 100lbs soaking wet, unkempt red hair, eyes shine with a red light in darkness, almost constantly wears a mask and hood.
Playing in: Shepherds of Truth - Thomas Roth, Shepherd of Mystra Aerovail, Cities in the Sky - Aidan Burke, Smuggler The Missing Schema - Trigger, Morgrave Trap-Breaker Echoes of the Past - Einar Barruk, Fight Club Brawler Once in Waterdeep - Nagao Jun, Windwise Wanderer
Name: Claw Age: 17 Race: Beasthide Shifter Class: Fighter (Dueling Style) Background: Folk Hero/Outlander Moral Compass: Lawful Neutral Backstory: Unusually for a shifter, Claw comes from a tight-knit community of fellow shifters from a small tribal village, far from any urban centers and with little interest in regional politics. These strong familial bonds likely account for his atypically lawful orientation. Claw is the headstrong but inexperienced son and heir of the clan chief. He has set out adventuring as a rite of passage in order to return to his village with tales of glory and gain the respect of those he is to lead one day. Physical Description: Imposing both in height and build, around 6'9" and nearly 300 lbs. He has thick, matted hair over his whole body which is mainly sandy colored but with darker patches in places. When shifted he takes on the features of a jaguar.
Character 2
Name: Valanthe Liadon Age: 436 Race: Eladrin Class: Sorcerer (Divine Soul) Background: Custom (Far Traveler-ish, adapted to the Eberron setting) Moral Compass: Neutral Backstory: Valanthe found herself stranted in Eberron after a planar instability disrupted a teleportation attempt. Instead of finding herself the usual few dozen feet from where she started, she was suddenly in another plane of existence. Initially she was single-mindedly focused on returning home to , but as she spent some time in this plane, she could feel its magical energy suffusing her being, even more strongly than what she is used to. With practice she is learning to harness this energy, and she is no longer in such a hurry to get back to the Feywild. Description: Tall but slight and wispy, with jet black hair and pale slightly bluish skin. Graceful but understated in movement. Matter-of-fact and detached in social interaction.
Character Option Two (Option One is Cassandra Skyfire, above) (This option could work for either the mixed group or the Rogues' Gallery, but I think I'd have more fun with her in the mixed group. I'll leave that up to you.)
Name: J'Sahriel Moran
Age: 18 years
Race: Apparent Half-Elf (Changeling)
Class: Rogue (Aiming for either Thief or Scout)
Background: Urchin
Moral Compass: Neutral
Backstory:
Born on the city streets of Lower Dura in Sharn, the changeling known as Jhess lived a hard life. From the hovel her "family" called home in Fallen, the challenge of eking out a meaningful existence was a daunting one, especially since the mistrust felt towards her kind called for a certain measure of discretion in all their dealings for the sake of safety.
To that end, Jhess didn't really grow up as herself. Most of her formative years were spent as J'Sahn, an often reckless and free-spirited yet kindhearted human boy. In this persona, J'Sahn ran with a mixed crowd including goblinoids, gnolls, orcs, tieflings, and even a medusa, not to mention seedier representatives of the more common races. Here he learned to be quick on his feet and deft with his hands, plying the arts of the common grifter but also the more wholesome trade of the street courier. With a diverse group of friends surrounding him, J'Sahn considered this life a hard but good one, despite the challenges.
Jhess, however, grew to want something more. Occasional secret ventures to the upper city sparked a newfound desire to see more of the world than just the slums of Lower Dura, and she has recently created a new persona expressly for allowing her to move about in the more open areas of the city. J'Sahriel Moran is a young half-elven girl from the rural countryside, with a love of life and a curiosity about all things urban, particularly in the upper city. She has some natural talent with music, particularly the flute, and has managed to enroll at Morgrave University to develop her skills, while also learning everything she can about the world at large.
Description(s):
J'Sahriel Moran, is a young and spry half-elf female with a head of medium-length, violet-tinged black hair that is usually a bit messy. She is usually wearing her Morgrave uniform.
J'Sahn is an affable, energetic, and fun-loving teenage human male with blue-tinged black hair. He wears common street attire.
Jhess, in her natural form, has the pale skin and hair common to her race, and her attire is likewise of common make.
Okay, here's option two. Been toying around with this idea for a while and finally settled on how I like it. I know it's yet another changeling and yet another rogue, but I still really like the character and think she/he would fit well into this campaign (especially with backstory as a newer Morgrave student), either as part of a mixed class party or an all rogue party if you do decide to do that.
Trigger is a custom designed and constructed warforged developed for use in Morgrave University's expeditionary efforts, built to endure and survive traps and other hazards that most other beings could never hope to overcome. Since his construction he has participated in countless excursions funded by the University and prides himself on being the toughest explorer in Sharn.
Description: A 6'6" titan of magic infused metal and wood, nearly as broad as he is tall. His frame is modeled on ancient plate armored knights from a distant age.
Playing in: Shepherds of Truth - Thomas Roth, Shepherd of Mystra Aerovail, Cities in the Sky - Aidan Burke, Smuggler The Missing Schema - Trigger, Morgrave Trap-Breaker Echoes of the Past - Einar Barruk, Fight Club Brawler Once in Waterdeep - Nagao Jun, Windwise Wanderer
Really excited for this. The 25th can't get here soon enough.

Name: Gorebark Age: 36 Race: Half-Orc Class: Fighter Desired Background: Haunted One Moral Compass: Chaotic Neutral Backstory:
Gorebark, of the Grulgar clan, was raised from birth to lead their clan and because of that destiny, his life was harder than his peers. Nobody was allowed to give him anything that might provide an advantage over others as he was expected to create his own advantage using his strength or his cunning. Gorebark took every opportunity to increase in strength and it wasn't long before he could overpower even the largest of his age, and many of ages above his. Mighty feats of strength and dexterity became second-nature for him. Outwitting his opponents and then dealing a crushing blow to secure dominance as early as possible became more of a game than a challenge.
The elders took approvals from his kin to begin the sacred rites of his tribe. These sacred rites would have completed his ascension to the title of Chieftan of the Grulgar clan...had it not been for what the few surviving half-orcs now refer to as "The Massacre of Grulgar." What was supposed to be a glorious contest of raw power and devotion to his clan, turned Gorebark into a harbinger of hatred and death upon his kin. The catalyst for this awful fate was a 'divine being' that had descended upon the ceremony in a 'righteous blaze' proclaiming a 'swift and holy' death upon all orc-bloods. As soon as it came within a calculated distance, Gorebark leapt forward, intending to deal a vicious and life-ending blow to the arrogant intruder threating his clan. The 'divine being' had foreseen this attempt and although it did manage to successfully dodge Gorebark's attack, a deep cut was made which separated single golden feather was from its neck where golden blood began to spray uncontrollably. With an incantation that had been prepared well in advance, the 'divine being' caught Gorebark with a spell of bloodlust that maddened him beyond recognition. Instead of a quick victory, Gorebark was instead afflicted with an unquenchable thirst for killing and within a matter of hours, he ruthlessly murdered his entire clan, save for a few hunting and expeditionary groups that happened to be away that day.
When Gorebark broke from his enchantment, dismembered bodies of both kin and clan lay strewn around the encampment that he almost led as Chieftan. The 'divine being' was nowhere to be seen, and no traces, other than a golden feather that must have been dropped Gorebark rarely goes a night without reliving the horrors of that day in vivid detail. He's made it his life's mission to hunt down and destroy that which took everything from him. Only then, will he let death's embrace be his salvation from the endless torture of his past.
His involvement in the Last War has been that of a legendary mercenary. Fighting to gain the strength necessary to achieve his guiding (sometimes blinding) pursuit of vengeance. Description of how they look: My daughter will be drawing a sketch for me, although in the meantime, this is generally what Gorebark will look like:
Oh! It would appear I can't read ANYONE'S backstory on their character sheet!
There is no tab for it.

PS: some more info for those of you who are interested in the all rogues/thiefy people game:
Title: The Rogue's Gallery Description: You are part of a small-time gang in the seedy underbelly of Sharn. Boss, a changeling who changes skin as often as the truth shifts from a politician's lips, has picked up on a big tip. If you pull this job off, life might get a whole lot easier than it has been for the past lifetime. Of course, the stakes are high too, but for small timers looking to make it big, you have to take risks, right? Looking for: Characters who are thieves and/or down on their luck. Listen to this song if you want a feel for the sorta story I want this game to be. If you are interested in a character you already submitted or plan to submit in the future being part of this game, just note it's for Rogue's Gallery.
EDIT: I word good... excuse my wording. Very tired from work!

Character 1
Name: Claw
Age: 17
Race: Beasthide Shifter
Class: Fighter (Dueling Style)
Background: Folk Hero/Outlander
Moral Compass: Lawful Neutral
Backstory: Unusually for a shifter, Claw comes from a tight-knit community of fellow shifters from a small tribal village, far from any urban centers and with little interest in regional politics.
Character 2
Name: Valanthe Liadon
Age: 436
Race: Eladrin
Class: Sorcerer (Divine Soul)
Background: Custom (Far Traveler-ish, adapted to the Eberron setting)
Moral Compass: Neutral
Backstory: Valanthe found herself stranted in Eberron after a planar instability disrupted a teleportation attempt.
"Darvin" | Changeling | Hexblade 1 / Swords Bard 6 | Descent Into Avernus (AC 19; PP 14; 52/52 HP)
Anton Chergoba | Human | Battlemaster 4 | Lost Mines of Phandelver (AC 20; PP 14; 36/36 HP)
Description(s):
Character Option Two:
Name: Trigger, Morgrave Trap Breaker
Age: 15 years
Race: Warforged (Juggernaut)
Class: Barbarian
Background: Archeologist (Signature Item: Sledgehammer)
Moral Compass: Neutral
Backstory:
Trigger is a custom designed and constructed warforged developed for use in Morgrave University's expeditionary efforts, built to endure and survive traps and other hazards that most other beings could never hope to overcome. Since his construction he has participated in countless excursions funded by the University and prides himself on being the toughest explorer in Sharn.
Description: A 6'6" titan of magic infused metal and wood, nearly as broad as he is tall. His frame is modeled on ancient plate armored knights from a distant age.
Playing in:
Shepherds of Truth - Thomas Roth, Shepherd of Mystra
Aerovail, Cities in the Sky - Aidan Burke, Smuggler
The Missing Schema - Trigger, Morgrave Trap-Breaker
Echoes of the Past - Einar Barruk, Fight Club Brawler
Once in Waterdeep - Nagao Jun, Windwise Wanderer

Name: Gorebark
Age: 36
Race: Half-Orc
Class: Fighter
Desired Background: Haunted One
Moral Compass: Chaotic Neutral
Backstory:

Everyone who has submitted JUST a sheet w/o a written backstory in the post, please edit your post to include your backstory.
Thank you!

PS: some more info for those of you who are interested in the all rogues/thiefy people game:
Title: The Rogue's Gallery
Description: You are part of a small-time gang in the seedy underbelly of Sharn.
