Nicknack ensures that everything in the galley is shipshape, that the fire is banked and covered for safety and that all the cooking implements have been washed and put away.
Once that's done, he takes a quiet tour of the ship, ostensibly looking for things that need repair but also looking for interestingthings.

Folzi finds what he'd expect on the deck of the ship. Extra ropes for rigging carefully bound close at hand to be replaced at a moments notice. Barrels for collection rain water while others are sealed filled with unknown contents. A couple of chests scattered about and lashed in place full of muskets, shot, and powder but little else outside the ordinary.
Below in the common stores he finds Nick's newly organized pantry with various bags of grain and meal. Then he finds a locked area with a heavy cast iron bar which looking through he can see kegs of ale and a casket marked wine. He finds nothing out of sorts here either.
Nick after help from the children has cleaned the galley better than it's had before for ages! There's a fine shine on all the brass cookery and the utensils geam from their place hanging on the wall for storage. Moving to the bunks he finds a baker's dozen of strung up hammocks and children fighting off sleep as the older teens try to calm them to bed. He finds little here other than remnants of thier old lives like wooden toys, a rag doll, and a deck of marked playing cards. From the bunks he attempts to go into the captain's cabin but the door is locked. The gnome gains a few critical and curious looks from the children but leaves the door to find Folzi in the common stores poking around.
Pat please roll perception and survival as your shift begins.

Father Pat puts away a large amount of his armour, keeping out only enough to make up a set of Half-plate (Medium Armour) and then grabs a few hours sleep before going on watch. As he gets ready to go on watch he dons the half-plate, picks up his shield and long sword and make his way up on deck (Perception 18 & Survival 20) where he makes his way to his position at the bell.
Pat handles his watch well but halfway through he notices a light in the distance as if there's a storm ahead. Hadar is keeping the ship on course but has yet, it seems, to notice the storm that's coming from the starboard side of the boat! The lightning is arcing along the clouds and striking the water!
Pat, however, is not sure how far off the storm is but he's sure it's something worth ringing the bell to alert the others. Pat's bell ringing however only seems to rouse Hadar's attention to him!
"What...what's the bell for," Hadar asks looking at the half-orc critically but a little bleary-eyed.

Father Pat points to the storm and says "cos that's coming our way and I don't reckon we want to be here when it hits. I'll take over the wheel and see if I can turn us to port while you go down and wake Niska."Father Pat takes the wheel and frantically wrestles in order to turn the ship to the port (roll 10 + 6 for Athletics if you let him use or feel he needs to use a strength modifier)
Hadar does not release the wheel scowling at the half-orc as he attempts to take over.
"You're no sailor you said it yourself," the teenage girl growls keeping her hands on the wheel and does not let the half-orc muscle her out of her post! "You go get the others," she adds, "I am on a course for the coast and if it's through the storm or not Niska will choose if we change direction," she adds her tone and expression defiant!

Farther Pat will also start banging his pegleg on the deck if that engenders any more movement from downstairs. Please note that he was very restrained and did not use any of the more 'salty' language he might once of used around the barracks to get young recruits moving. If there is little or no movement his language will get increasingly 'salty' but I wont post it here.
Folzi is down in the common storage with Nick and doesn't hear Pat's yelling or banging on the large ship. The wind has picked up and Hadar is calling for the sails to be taken in looking to Pat to sound the alarm.
Niska and the kids are still fast asleep as well the large half-orc might need to ring the bell (survival check) harder to gain their attention.
Hrian and Lyra remain unresponsive in their bunks beside the captain's quarters. (still need perception checks y'all)
