You have made it roughly half way through the district when Amasu you recognize a series of glyphs on a wall. With a few moments of putting it together you can make out that it is pointing the way to the thieves guild. Where, depending on how well it is hidden, may have some of the good famous of the guilds of old such as dues, goods, and other valuables that are held until they could be moved and sold outside the city. You can inform the rest of the group and decide if you would like to take a detour now, on your way back, or skip it entirely. As for undead in this section of the city the undead have seem to be driven away by the sun as you only hear the distant groans of agony from the wandering undead.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Amasu studies the markings with a frown, but will ultimately choose to stay silent for now. He's glad for the quiet so far, but resolves not to let his guard down, and goes back to roaming from side to side of the group.
You all reach the city wall on the cliff. The wall is only 10 feet up from ground level, but on the other side is the sheer drop of the cliff. About 35-40 feet down you can see the grate, water is gently pouring out into running river down. You have several places you can secure from and repel by rope, or other means of going down as you cannot see the front of the grate and whether it is reinforced or not.
There is almost nothing besides the straight edge of the cliff to get down to in. The cliff is a major part of the defenses before the undead rose. As such they did not want to give an easy way for attackers to get in. You have 10 feet of stone wall, then the cliff which does have some areas it looks like you could attempt to use as handholds and feet placement, but it would be a rather high check to not lose your grip on the rock, where you would then fall into the water below.
Sabrae sees Yelfrig looking around the cliff side, and approaches. “See anything? Handholds, places to try off a rope so we can repel, anything of the sort?”

hmmmmm sorvon has an Idea if there is any wood at the bottom of the cliff "I could use my rope and attach it to my bow and arrow so we can slide down the cliff but we would need something to hold the other end with" he says to the others wondering if there is anything to hold the other end and then checks if there is any tree or something to dig the arrow in in
(I think perception check if so then ) for checking for wood or something23 for checking if there is something to tie rope with 19
Amasu looks over the cliff, then at the wall. He fancied himself a decent climber, but he wasn't risking anything like that free-hand.
Instead, he sets down his pack and pulls out several pitons, a hammer, a coil of rope, and a crowbar. "Any of this seem useful?" He calls over to the others.
You notice to your right what appears to be a gate house. On further looking you can see a gate house and a lowered drawbridge that leads to the stone walk way leading up to the city. You could probably go out on to the drawbridge to get a better view about it. But this also seems strange that this would be in the down position as it easily allows anymore undead to just wander into the city.
(sorry for the slight retcon, I had the idea in my head, but did not write it well.
Vanya you find the what you believe to be the door to the gate machinsm but his has been barred shut from this side by a wooden plank, preventing the door from opening outward. Sabrae steps out unto the drawbridge platform and looks at the grate, though you have a bit of trouble spotting it you can see that the grate is on it side inside the the tunnel, no longer offering protection. Amasu you inspect the gate house and the surrounding features. The stone walk way leading up is at a rather step incline, the area the drawbridge is over is only supported on the far side, meaning when the drawbridge is up it is at least 10 to 12 feet from the end of the walk way to the door, making use of a battering ram extremely difficult. What would you like to do now?

"There are some places to descend from but non of them are really safe."

"Maybe only a single person should go down and check." Lotta suggests. "If the grate's still good, there's no need for all of us to descend, right?"
"I have some rope. We could lower one person down with it and pull them up again."

**sorry guys i dont really have any spells that would help us here**
Vanya heads over to the gate house and takes a look inside, looking for mechanisms to raise the bridge and anything else of interest.
Investigation: 18
Before Vanya raises the draw bridge, Sabrae out a ways to check the grate, as well as to see if any undead appear to be amassing on the other side.

Yelfrig walks with the group towards the gatehouse
**oh i dont raise it now, i just wanted to see if we could**
Seeing the others are examining the gate house, Amasu rounds it to inspect the drawbridge instead.
