Welcome to this PbP, a friendly, all welcoming space for anyone wanting to join!
RULES:
1. NO HATE! I expect everyone to be respectful. Not that I think you will be, but still.
And that's basically it. I don't have anything else.
Now, if you want to play, all you'll have to do is link your character sheet here or PM me it. This won't be happening on discord, but on this site (I'll start a new thread for the actual PbP) so no need to mention your discord. New or old player are welcome.
Everyone will be starting at level three, so make sure your character is set to that, and none of you will know each other (unless you want to).
If you have questions, let me know! (Cause I am horrible at describing things)!
Sounds cool...I could begin drafting up a character (with the caveat that at times, I'll barely be able to post across two weeks or even longer). Could you give some description on how long the campaign is, and the general premise (world background/campaign intro?) - I'd like to know a bit more about where my character's going and flesh them out some more.

Pumahk is a goliath, and was born into an evil cult dedicated to spreading terror throughout the lands, but his first memories are of an order of paladins, the Fellowship of Might, infiltrating the camp at which he lived and killing or capturing the cultists that lived there. Only 3 or 4 at the time, he hardly had any clue what was going on. The paladins took pity on him, and took him in to raise him as a warrior for all that is good and just. Now, still a member of the Fellowship, he travels the land fighting for what's right and protecting those incapable of protecting themselves.
Character Sheet. Willing to change species and use point buy/array depending on the rule set you want to use.
Link: https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/144211146 Name/Species/Class: Hikari (Human Monk, Way of the Open Hand) Background: Hikari was a child born of the forest, a wildling sprouted forth from the trunk of a tree. He roamed the wilds, a lone nomad seeking his place among briar and fen. He moved with the foxes, ate with the bears, and howled with the wolves. He knew all - except for two things. He knew not his origins, and he knew not of others. He roamed with the wild, 'twas true, but he had always felt something...missing, as if a piece of him had been torn out, mauled by his rough upbringing. But he continued to live in that manner until he was a young man of twelve, who now had not a care for the world outside -- if there truly was one.
But the first axiom of life is that all is subject to change, and Hikari was no exception to this rule. As he meandered by himself, like he had done so many days before, he stumbled by accident into a town. The first others he had ever seen, peeking out of their clay-and-bamboo huts to query him - who was he? why was he there?
They took pity on him, and kept and fed him. because what would you do if you had seen a twig-covered, leafy-haired boy scramble out of the wilds? And these were no ordinary people -- they were monks, and they sated his curious mind with tales of the gods above and the legends below, teaching him of all of the things he could possibly want. And, at eighteen, he left them behind, striking out on his own to blaze his own path. He has seen the wilds, so he does not fear them. He has faced hardship, so he will bear it without complaint. But the one thing that he cannot stand is people. Others. (Rolled a CHA of 6)
He ended up in Waterdeep for no purpose, just a desire to find his true self - the happiness he found in the wild - once again. He'll be found drinking a heavy ale at the nearest tavern, wishing his sorrows away. It's not hard to find him - a seven-foot tall human, hunched over the bar, weak-looking muscles hiding his true strength. He'll keep his eyes out for any jobs that fly his way -- anything to make him some coin and to keep him going.

Love it! That'd work fine, and I doubt you'd need to change anything.

Could you give some description on how long the campaign is, and the general premise (world background/campaign intro?) - I'd like to know a bit more about where my character's going and flesh them out some more.
Of course! It'll be set in the Forgotten Realms, as Waterdeep is a marvelous place to begin.
In this world, the Spellplague has recently ended, restoring the magic to the people and cities. The Plaguechanged still roam the world, which are horrid beasts mutated by the fall of the weave. It was widely known that the assassination of Mystra, the goddess of magic, caused all of it. But (if you wish) one of you believes a stronger force is in play, someone no one knows of.
The campaign will start as you all meeting each other by chance as you attempt to join the Adventurers Guild, and I'll flesh out something describing how you get there. The PbP will depend on how often we can all meet, but it'll be at least a month.
Let me know if there's any more information you need from me!

WOW! I wasn't expecting anything that good! I love it! I can work this in bea-U-tifully with the PbP, and the last part gives me the perfect setup for how to send them on their way to the guild. Good job all around!
The PbP will depend on how often we can all meet, but it'll be at least a month.
From this tidbit, is the plan that you want to schedule sessions for us to be all online at the same time?
(Asking since most PBPs in this forum are continuous, with posting when you can.)
Also as a second question, 2014 rules or 2024 rules?
It honestly depends. I want people to be able to have conversations, but ultimately it is up to the players, so I don't mind either way!
Also, 2024. Makes it easier.
Definitely finding this interesting, but I really can't commit until this question is settled ... if it's all online at the same time, can't do it. Otherwise I generally can commit to posting at least a couple times a week unless the life craziness gets crazier than usual. That said, I really like how player-centric and flexible you're making this.
Curious about the style you're planning to run this in, if you've decided that ... IOW do you tend to DM/play more RP-heavy, or more combat/strategy-heavy (or with something else as the focus besides the story/RP elements)?

EDIT: Enough interested to drop in a set of ability rolls and basic backstory just in case --
Backstory: Silcaryn Arae'quel never wanted anything more than the simple forest life with her people that birth, clan, and people had promised her. Her mother, and her mother's mother, and her mother's mother's mother before her, had been their clan's Loresinger Matriarch; and each had left a daughter after her to take on the mantle and uphold the Ara'quel sept's honored name. And that was all they had known, and all they needed to know. The trees. The song. The life. All the world a grugach loresinger knew, and all she needed to know. And that was Silcaryn's world too. Until the horror. Until the Spellplague ...
... destroyed her. Made her Other, in the eyes of her people; and worse than other. Made her outcast. Not only to the grugach, but to even the Others who were not marred by Mystra's death. And most of the ones who were marred were too insane to do more than shriek and howl and cry and kill: the Wyrm gone insane, the force of decay far out of balance with life until it seemed like all the world would rot away to nothing. And the deepest shame of all was also her only refuge. The goblins that before that she had only seen as ... well, goblins --- were the only beings who didn't treat her like SHE was the one who'd slain the Goddess of the Weave.
At least, the ones who didn't run screaming from her in abject terror before she had a chance to speak and prove herself only Scarred, not fully Changed ...
{ ... with your approval of course ... the great god Google has some ideas about Spellscarred characters LOL . As well as a more detailed "deep dive" into the subject.)(there's even a DM on this site who explored the subject: "Spellscarred: a spellplague homebrew...") (and being a tooootally obsessive sort of nut when it comes to DnD ;>, I've also found a PDF resource on the Dungeon Master's Guild website ... literally a full 4-5 page supplement exploring a full subclass, feats, magic items and NPC stat block tied to the Spellscar.
To be clear, I'm NOT trying to canoodle for any special powers to be associated with Silcaryn's Spellscar; this was primarily an idea for an interesting/unusual backstory for a bard character, and I'm just as happy having it be nothing more than that. ,,, On the other hand, if you WANNA give my character more powers who am I to say no? LLOL :)
