Name: Aspen Species: wood elf Class (feel free to list planned subclass, not required however): sorcerer 1 (shadow magic) planning to multiclass into hexblade warlock if acceptable Backstory: Aspen was born into the loving arms of his lonac parents. He grew up surrounded by druids. He spends most of his time in the forests near the coast of the Sroth Medan. At the age of 10, the young Elf experienced the Miracle of the Dawn. Though he did not know the consequences of this, he had noticed something was going on, and felt its impact. Aspen still continued to study, eventually learning and studying from great sorcerers within the Trimachy. Now the time has come for them to step into sorcery on their own. Most definitely — Fey and the Fey Wild will have paws all over the campaign as I envision it. I feel like I recall a printed player race fairy at some point that I’d be plenty comfortable with so let me know which you might be thinking as I feel like that went through a few iterations.
I am going to go ahead and close this for now as we’ve got a fair few folks working on things!
Dropping a roll now because I love the Celtic vibes of this and would be quite interested in exploring it! Gonna roll to see what I get and mess around with ideas in my head.
Edit: Finally got the dice to work and damn ain't that just the most mid stat roll I've seen in a month of Wednesdays?
Since the stats are quite low and since I saw elsewhere the DM said we would be free to use the standard array, I'll be doing that instead. I haven't made the sheet yet, instead I want to propose the basic character concept.
Edit: I would have the sheet done but for obvious reasons I can’t since I dunno for sure what species to choose.
Concept: Aisling Goldstrake is a woman cursed by her name. Though only a distant cousin of Filvenda Goldstrake, one of the three mythical founders of the Trimachy, the name has meant that people judge her before they even come to know her. In her native Aethia, this judgement is often less than positive; the kingdom was never the most enthusiastic about the new mode of government, and from a tender age Aisling found herself torn between her duty to her kingdom and her duty to her family name. Even after she took up the sword, she never knew exactly what it was she was fighting for, only that she had to fight, because no matter what people thought of her, they would think all the worse of a Goldstrake who stayed her hand in the face of what was to come.
Do let me know if the idea is a tad too ambitious! Being related to an important lore NPC, however distantly, is a bit of an ask, I concede. I just read the description of the campaign and how it was meant to be an exploration of politics and theology and I found in Aethia a perfect avenue for exploration of that. The tension that Aisling experiences is a defining aspect of her character, trapped between a family name that binds her to the Trimarchy and duty to a kingdom which chafes under the new regime. She is a Devotion Paladin, the paragon of justice itself, caught in an existential crisis of knowing what justice is and how best to mete it out. I just think that's a pretty neat character concept.
Name: Faewynn Nistaea Species: Wood Elf Class Cleric (Thaumaturge/Trickery): Backstory: Fae grew up in the wilds where she became a guide. :She witnessed the light that went to the heavens on the Miracle tje Dawn and was called to be a cleric, but she thought that a light hearted tone was required. Class (feel free to list planned subclass, not required however): Druid (no subclass yet)
Backstory: Niamh is an apprentice to the old Lake Warden, one of many hermitic practitioners of the old way (druidism). They usually keep to themselves and try to maintain natural balance in the wildest places near Three Waters, but when the bodies began to wash ashore, Niamh couldn't remain secluded any more and set out to try and teach the surrounding folks a lesson in keeping the peace. (I know it doesn't align much with the traditional 'soldier' background, but she's a nature warden and hunter)
I love the Gaelic style of this campaign, I'll have to work out some character ideas, but wanted to roll some stats to play with first. I'll add on character sheet once I have that figured out. :)

Sorry it took a while to put this together, I was going back and forth a lot on what kind of Firbolg I wanted to make. :D
Name: Livyre Frostwalker Species: Firbolg Class (feel free to list planned subclass, not required however): Barbarian (Wildheart probably) Backstory: Livyre grew up in the northern Vyrik islands, where some tales say the giants still roam. She was raised with the old traditions of her nomadic kin, but rarely participated as she tended to keep to herself. Still she enjoyed the nomadic life travelling between the northern islands. This all ended when relations with a competing tribe over limited resources turned sour, leading to an all out battle. In the bloody aftermath, all of Livyre's close family had been killed (at least as far as she knew). This left her with no where to go or belong. In the search of her new life, curiosity led Livyre to Three Waters, and the growing Vyrikmen settling there.

I'm comfortable to say I think we have our seven from each of you folks that have put something together, so I'll get this all organized and ready to go later this evening :D
I'd never dare to try and organize seven people at an in-person game but PbP lends itself a little better to slightly larger groups than I'd usually run. I will reach out to everyone individually to get a sense of where you think your character fits in the world at game start and how you might want to organically get them into the action :)
Those are awesome options so definitely explore them if you're still uncertain about what you might want to do later on down the road :D
I am aiming to have everything on the main campaign ready to go by Thursday evening or early Friday! A few of you have opted into doing little "prequel" scenes with your characters and if any of those aren't resolved before the main post is up don't worry, we can run them concurrently to their conclusions (and none of them are designed to be especially long anyway, so ideally they will all be finished up before then and you can properly use any details added or learned in those scenes as we being the main adventure)

Well, it's not bad. Just out of curiousity do you allow Fairies? Seems they'd fit the celtic theme. I'll work on it.
Ugh the dice rolls were originally 11 11 11 9 13 16. That is what the character is based on

Since I've joined the campaign the Crooked Moon player options are now available to all players for use in character creation.
I think they'd work really well for this campaign setting like the Harvest Domain, Circle of Wicker, etc. and you're all free to use them.
Those are awesome options so definitely explore them if you're still uncertain about what you might want to do later on down the road :D
