Droop thankfully accepts the sustenance from Vondal. As the monk looks over the first few pages of the book, he realizes it details the history of the Lost Mine of Phandelver. Deciding to look it over more later, he steps back into the common room and retrieves the four red cloaks.
OOC: Does everyone travel up the stairs and back into the big room?
(@DDP: That's where I figured we were headed, though up to Zip if he wishes to lead to a different route first? Vondal would be partial to the closest stairs leading into the cavern.)

Lead by Nif, the group heads up the stairs between the workshop and common room toward the north end of the crevasse. As he enters the the large room, Vondal sends out his telepathic message. When Nif reaches the western side of the northern bridge, a monstrous creature with terrible talons and a single great eye slips out from behind the stalagmite on the eastern side of the bridge. It is the size of a human and all angles and rotten-looking flesh. But the eye is what is the most horrifying. It regards the party on the other side of the bridge for a split second before they all hear in their heads, "He there." The creature raises a hand and points toward the southwest — the hallway they first entered.
If Nif hasn't shotten the creature from surprise, Vondal quickly steps up and puts a hand on Nif's shoulder. "Hold Brother. This is the one that spoke to this one -- me, earlier. But I did quite expect -- Wait!"He steps up just a foot in front the others and says, "He... there? How?"Vondal looks off in the direction pointed out. IN his mind, he tries to send out a description given in regards to Iarno along with a request for confirmation. Whether or not the creature can send an immediate answer, waiting for long was not an option.
"Ah! Gotta be 'im. At least think -- no matter. I'm going after."In uncharacteristically Vondal fashion, he immediately makes a Dash(if needed) towards the southwestern hall(easily covering 70ft in his particular case). And if he spots him, or any sign of said "red cloak" but still had a ways to go, he would move like the wind(Step of Wind to Bonus Action Dash again using 1 ki).
Nif is frozen watching the creature. His crossbow in his hands, not aiming at the creature yet but he is ready to aim in fire if something feels wrong. Refusing to play mind games, he just calls out."What do you want with us?"
OOC: As Grant said his internet may be spotty, I'm taking two decisions as consensus. We can always retcon if needed.
Vondal is the first to reach the corridor opening. Even though he is intent on looking for his prey, he can't help but notice the remnants of the pile of rations he left at the top of the stairs. Much of the protein is gone, but some is still there, as is everything non-protein.
"In for a penny, in for a pound as they say"Karl says to Zander before finishing with "I suppose I'd better follow those two fools and get ready to pull their arses out of the fire again!"He to then dashes off after the other two.
As Vondal scrutinizes the remains of the pile of rations, Nif passes by him silently and descends the stairs. At the bottom, you can enter the room where you battled the bugbears or head north to the common room where two Redbrands remain tied up.
Vondal sends one last mental message of thanks from the creature, as well as a request to delay the runaway in exchange for another bounty of meat if spotted again. Afterwards, he looks to Nif, and seeing him slow down to creep ahead, bites back a huff. "Go ahead. I check tunnel. Make sure he has not already slip the noose. Good luck Uncle."He pats Karl on the shoulder one last time, then more lightly jog his way towards the hidden tunnel to at least take a peek inside. If he finds nothing, he goes back to the others. But if he does, well... It will depend.
Either way, the whole time he cannot help but wonder why the warned against one hadn't just taken the tunnel back to the top...

Once the group is ready, Nif will lead the group the way that DDP mentioned.

Vondal dashes down the western side of the crevasse toward the southwest hall. What does everyone else do?
Nif is frozen watching the creature. His crossbow in his hands, not aiming at the creature yet but he is ready to aim in fire if something feels wrong. Refusing to play mind games, he just calls out. "What do you want with us?"
In his head, Nif again hears, "He there," as one clawed finger points toward the southwest corridor.
Finally grasping what the creature is saying, Nif turns to Zander and Karl. "We need to follow Vondal."
And he dashes off in the direction Vondal went, not turning to see if the others follow him.

(I'm back and there was no internet - stunning scenery though)

Droop hurries along after the others, avoiding eye contact with the creature.
Nif will lead the way through the opening, slowly and quietly, keeping his eyes out for any danger, crossbow ready to fire.

Vondal doubles back to check the tunnel the group used to enter the dungeon. Where's Nif going? And the others?
(I think I have read the map right. The only way we haven't been yet is north?)
Nif leads the way north to the top end of the cavern. Keeping about 20ft ahead of the group, mainting stealth and keeping his eyes out.
OOC: So you didn't follow Vondal? Vondal went southwest.
