Aside from an absent-minded nod, Vondal pays for his supplies -- including some additional 5 days of rations at the last moment -- in a very monosyllabic way, then waits off to the side for Adrom to finish up. After which point he becomes almost completely absorbed in staring at the crystal, and looking both thoughtful and worried at the same time the whole while...
OOC: Nif is going to head back to the others, becuase I don't think there is much more to be gained from Sildar other than a promise to keep searching for cragmaw.
Vondal, you're pretty sure you've seen a sketch of the head of the crystal's adornment in the margin of one of your sister's letters.
Adrom weighs the three finds vs. the coin in his purse and decides to purchase only the amulet. Barthen gives the cleric a discount as well, letting Adrom keep one of his gold (4 gp for the amulet).
On their way toward the Stonehill Inn, Vondal (who is very distracted) and Adrom run into Zander, who they tell that Sister Garaele would like a word. He heads toward the Shrine of Luck while the dwarves continue toward the Inn. Nif meets them as they are entering, and the three join Karl at the bar, where Toblen greets them as warmly as he did Karl.
"Mn, yes,"Said a very much still distracted Vondal. After robotically going through similar greetings upon reaching the bar, Vondal takes out the crystal to study again. "Which one was... it?" He muttered to himself. Then, seeming to come around from the scents in the room, looked up for the first time. "Oh where -- hm. That was faster than I... huh... So, how was everyones respective mission? Oh! And Mr. Toblen? Not sure if I asked this already. But, did anyone ever come across a cart and ox that did not quite belong someplace?"

As Nif enters the tavern, he finds karl and orders a mug of ale. Once the group is all together, he brings out the rings and explains to best of his knowledge what each one does. "Does anyone have an particular interest in one of the rings?" he asks after explaining.
Adrom listen to Nif with interest and points towards the one that allows the wearer to disguise. “I see no use for me on that one. The one that boost one protection however... I don’t have much money but...”
He suddenly shuts his mouth when his hand reaches his second coin purse and realizes that he has kept there all the money that they were recollecting during their adventures.
“Hahahaha! Moradin kept my vision because my memory... and here I was rejecting those find items back in the store because I thought I didn’t have more money!” He says showing the purse to the others. “But Moradin’s wise this way I can spent the money in a better way. Buying you all, my lads, a round of ale... More ale here!!! “ he exclaims taking some gold and heading to the bartender to bring the drinks to the table with the others.
"S'pose I could perhaps make use of that more face changing one. But, eh! You'd like make more use out of that one Brother, than I would." Vondal admitted, and pats Nif on the back of the shoulder towards the end. Seeing Adrom wonder off a bit about coin and ale brings a brighter smile to the gold dwarf's face. "I almost hate to break the hammer's heart. But, you all know me and my stance about the drink." He said to Karl and Nif while Adrom had stepped away. Once he's back with drinks Vondal finally pries Nif about the reward from Sildar.

“Can you believe it lads? They gave it to me for free! Take it then! Never let anyone say that the Sons of Moradin didn’t enjoy free ale given with true gratitude!!”
Vondal smirked, and despite the risks, pulled out some of the extra parchment purchased for a bit of practice. "Not too surprising considering all of we've done for the town so far. Even if, at least for my brothers and I, are reasons were not totally altruistic." He casually shrugs. When it came to Adrom's offer, Vondal looks at the mug long and hard before sighing and shaking his head.
"Best you give Uncle my share. Odd as this may sound, we gold dwarves don't partake as much of the sacred waters outside of special occasions. The drink has a... a way of drawing out past memories more in us than most. And most of which... are not as pleasant -- I-I would only ruin the mood."

Nif enjoys his ale before pulling out the purse Sildar gave him. "Before i forget!" he exclaims as he opens it and counts out everyones share of gold pieces, "A thank you from the new townmaster. I think we rest tonight, but were do we head from here?"
“Well some bloke called Daren reckons ‘e ‘as a job for us. Apparently he lives on the other side of the Orchard - least that’s what Torbin here reckons. Me I say we go visit him tomorrow!” Karl answers Nif’s query as takes a great swallow of ale.
"Vell I 'ope this job of his take us by goblin territory, 'cause we could use another one of those for directions."Vondal comments on without really looking up from book. Once Nif finishes up counting shares, he'll look up at least long enough to put away his own. "Though either way, as much as I am reticent to hold off a whole to find out what this business is. Seeing as we are like flotsam in river at moment..."He trails off into a sigh, and just shakes his head. "... Anyhow! Gonna have to hold on to Zander's share for a bit though, brother Nif. Least 'till he finishes up his 'business' at the temple." Vondal looks over to Adrom with a sly look near the end, and then let out a chuckle. "By the way! Did SIldar mention anything 'bout having found our missing cart?"

Vondal sighed and tugged at the side of his beard. "A shame that. But, it is what it is. I'm-...."He hesitatantly glances between the book and the group, then huffs and puts the former away. "I'm gonna go asking around it. Or worst case, see about getting a new one. 'cause short of that Daren fellow asking ve go tromping in some woods, I rather ve have wagon and ox on hand going forward. Least then people can keep up with me."
Chuckling, Vondal pats the closest dwarfs to him on the shoulder, packs away the rest of his things, and then hustles off outside to begin combing the town.

Nif was handed a purse of 100 gp before he left the Townmaster's Hall as specified on the poster.
Happy to see more Saviors of Phandalin back in his Inn, Toblen pours the round of ale for Adrom and gives it to him on the house.
Happy with his ale Adrom comes back to the table.

Vondal, roll four investigation checks.
And so, Vondal began his search of the town...
Investigation(#1): 11.
While not the biggest of places the dwarf's been, even he knew better than let over confidence win out...
Investigation(#2): 16.
Yet, there could be no denying it. Good will could only take a dwarf so far...
Investigation(#3): 17.
But nevertheless, the search would press on. High and low, Big or Small, every cranny would be searched! A people approached! And one step closer made to find...
Investigation(#4): 7.
