As the (black) cultist approaches him, Daran prays once again for assistance from his god. (DEX save DC13: 15) Seeing and hearing the cleric, the cultist is prepared and dodges the holy flames.
OOC: I am hoping i do this right and dont hit my teammates
Nif scans around him, making note of the cultists, in particular the one that has managed to get into his face. Using his cunning action, he disengages and darts back to square I7. He then chants some words in under common casting Sleep centred on K10.

OOC: For future reference, the spell begins at the point where four squares meet, so giving me one square pretty much tells me what you want to do, but giving me two diagonal squares, such as K10 and K11 in this instance, will make sure I know exactly where you want to put it. It's a good use of the spell. I just wish you'd rolled higher. Who goes to sleep? (1=black, 2=blue, 3=pink, 4=yellow: 2)
Nif disengages and steps back, for the first time casting a spell during combat. As he finishes the spell, he feels he may not have done something quite right, but he can feel the magic take hold. However, looking around, he can't see that it did. Vondal and Adrom, however, see the cultist dashing up the back side of the building fall on their face in the grass.
The cultist harrowing Daran swings their scimitar at the cleric. (scimitar attack: 23, damage: 10 slashing damage) Despite appearing to only be wearing traveling clothes, the cultist's weapon clangs off Daran's shoulder without hurting the half-elf.
The (blue) cultist follows Nif as he backs away and swings his scimitar at the rogue. (scimitar attack: 4, damage: 3 slashing damage — 18/24) Unprepared to defend himself after casting the spell, and still distracted by his confusion of why it didn't work, Nif is unable to dodge the cultists's blade, and it strikes him across the chest.
The (pink) cultist steps forward another five feet and takes a swing at Karl. (scimitar attack: 5, damage: 2 slashing damage) The cultist appears to be a little wary of Karl, and his aim is off, allowing the dwarf to sidestep the attack.
"Well using this blasted thing two handed was no better than single handed. Maybe some more direct talkin' is wot's needed!" Karl thinks. "Right" he says to the warhammer "you an' me are in a partnership right. I do me bit by swingin' ya as 'ard as I can an' youse does ya bit by doin' some damage right. I swear by Moradin's back teeth if ya doesn't do better I'm gunna yous ya as doorstop in the outside dunny!" Swinging his shield in front of him Karl swings at the lead cultist {Attack: 13 Damage: 10}
"Bah probably cant blame the dratted hammer this time"Karl mutters "maybe I need to find another career?"

Despite his pep talk, Karl's hammer misses its target completely.
Sensing he has the upperhand, the lead cultist does two quick jabs, one at Karl and then one at Vondal. (shortsword attack #1: 9, damage: 9 piercing damage) Karl lifts his hammer to chastise the weapon again just in time for the cultist's blade to bounce off the head harmlessly. Already in motion to jab at Vondal, the monk watches the cultist's eyes go wide and begin darting about as if searching for something even as he is attacking. (shortsword attack: 14, damage: 7/2=3 piercing damage) Despite the cultist's apparent distraction, he still stabs Vondal, but the dwarf is surprised when it appears the cultist pulls his attack, and it doesn't sink as deep as it should. But then the feeling of poison begins to burn. (CON save DC15: 21 — 19/2=9/2=4 poison damage). Once again, the dwarf's constitution fights the poison. What only Adrom noticed was that as the blade was extended toward Vondal's gut, one of the spectral dwarves surrounding the lead cultist extended their hand to intercept the blade. As the blade was retracted, the hand was as well. (6/24 hp)

Ghostly help or not, Vondal was still left on shaky legs upon the blades retraction, and nearly fell to a knee clutch at the freshest of wounds. Yet he stumbles into a firmer stances, and glares up at the man; his resolve unbroken, even as his insides burned and muscles threatened to cave to all the damage. A taunt comes to his lips, but his feelings would not be voiced in words.
Rather he feigned the beginnings of falling over as if succumbing to his wounds, only to spring off the correcting foot placement and pirouetting in mid-air, swinging the axe in both hands in almost beheading maneuver. Even if parried, or again the main blocks the strike, the landing is followed by a sharp spinning back kick towards the groin.
Action: Attack Using Vonsorm. (Two-Handed, Lethal) BattleAxe - Attack: 1+16 Damage: 9 of Slashing at Cultist Leader.

Vondal swings his axe, and it looks like the lead cultist, moving with surprising quickness, will dodge the attack, but Karl's presence causes the man to be momentarily distracted, and the blade barely catches his arm. And, once again, Vondal follows up with a kick. The cultist attempts to get out of the way, but still takes a little damage.
Gritting his teeth and uttering a manly grunt/growl, Adrom swings his warhammer twice at the lead cultist. (warhammer attack: 15, damage: 9 bludgeoning damage — war priest warhammer bonus attack: 17, damage: 6 bludgeoning damage — bless rolls: 42)
The first swing slams down on the cultist's shoulder, causing him to holler out in pain. The second swing is deflected by the cultist's own weapon.

Daran practically dances around the (black) cultist, ending up between him and the (blue) cultist (I9). Nif hears him speak a couple words in druidic and then there is a loud crack of thunder. (CON save DC13 black: 8, blue: 1 — damage: 3 thunder damage) The (black) cultist doesn't seem affected, but the (blue) cultist grabs his ears. (6 damage)
Still feeling a mixture of annoyance and confusion at the lack of effectiveness of his spell, Nif drops his crossbow, drawing his sword and dagger before lashing out at the cultist in front of him.
After dropping the cultist in front of him, Nif scans around and spotting Daran needs some more help, he turns to stab the cultist Daran if is fighting in the back.
Nif takes out two cultists with two well-placed attacks, thanks to Chauntea's blessing.
OOC: Nif, moving to I8, you'd still have 20 feet of movement if you want it.
Unaware that two of his friends of been cut down, the (pink) cultist swings his scimitar at Karl, using the lead cultist's proximity to his advantage. (scimitar attack: 22, damage: 5/2=2 slashing damage = 7/38 hp) The black slides across the barbarian's shoulder, but his rage reduces the damage.
The (yellow) cultist snores.
Karl, you're up! The only thing that might be different with the map is Nif's position if he decides to use some of that 20 feet.
"Rights lets get this over and done with shall we"Karl asks nobody in particular but glares at his warhammer {Attack: 25 Damage: 10} "youse is getting the idea but still got a way to go"he mutters to his warhammer.
Ignoring the (pink) cultist, Karl continues to try to pound the lead cultist into the ground. The dwarf's weapon slams into the man, causing him to grunt in pain.
The lead cultist growls, "This can't end today." He reaches into the neck of his shirt, draws out a stoppered vial hanging around his neck, and drinks the contents. With the last gulp, his feet begin to hover. He then flies up into the air to escape.
Karl, Vondal and Adrom, you all get to make an opportunity attack.
Karl looks up surprise as the lead cultist starts to float away "that's gotta ta be a pretty lite ale he's quaffing"he mutters as he swings Pacifier II {Attack: 19 Damage: 15} "well maybe that's brought him back to earth!"he says with a smile.
In a surprisingly fast and seeming coordinated effort, all three — Vondal, Karl, and Adrom — pounce upon the cultist as he attempts to fly away. The combined flurry of one blade and two hammers is too much for the man, and he falls back to the ground, unconscious.
