Vondal, as you unsheathe the shortsword, the blade glows. In bright light, you wouldn't have noticed, but the draping webbing is creating some shadows, allowing you to notice. Also, a careful search yields a potion of healing in a belt pouch, along with 23 gp and 35 sp.
Daran takes a moment to peer over Vondal's shoulder at the corpse. "It depends on the community," he says. "My mother's had no place for crypts. The bodies weren't cremated, either, but plowed into fallow fields to enrich the soil." He looks at the others as they look back at him. "Then we'd have a huge feast to celebrate and honor the Great Mother." He returns to searching for Mirna's necklace, sounding more and more frustrated.
"Enchanted? Curious." Vondal mumbled as the blade is sheathed once more. The potion is given less scrutiny, and instead merely handed off to Nifletay accompanied by the words, "For Emergencies." Though he moved on to count coin, an ear stayed open for Daran's case. "Hmn... What an odd tradition. An interesting one, but still odd. Don't think we manage that. But, we leave in nearby bushes then. Let nature and wild take back, yes." He said, though at least glanced to Adrom for approval; being the holy men that he was.
Eventually, the count is finished, and coin passed off to the four dwarf's present prior to any body movement; assuming Daran wasn't finished with the building. And if he was, Vondal follows behind, mentally noting to get back to the elf's body eventually. "It is okay, Daran. We only covered half of town.Meaning, it cannot be long before we find it, see? Then, we see to remaining dead and blights, and then soon after that, take leave... unless we're really, really feeling up to tangle with Dragon.Which compared to spiders, I welcome fighting a hundred of them versues another one of those multi-limbed beasties."

If Adrom has any opinion about what Daran said he keeps it to himself not to argue with the elf, but when they take the corpse to put it at the bushes as Vondal suggested he says in darwen
"And they ask why they look strange to me. A body has to be under the ground and with good rock over it I tell you. But I try to keep an open mind with all the other races and their... different creeds... just don't ask me to understand it... Moradin help this poor soul to find it's way to their paradise..."
Daran walks out of the building just after Vondal and Adrom finish hiding the corpse in the bushes. Karl and Nif follow behind the nature cleric. "Nothing here, either," the half-elf says, sounding a little less frustrated. He gives Vondal a tight smile as thanks. Then, looking up the hill, he shakes his head. He points eastward. "Let's head this way. There's another fork going south and north, but the road circles around. Shall we start south? Around this way is where the old man saw the people in black masks. I'd like to check that out, if it's OK with you." When the others voice no opposition, they head south. The first building on the left is a small ruined shop cluttered with sagging storage shelves and broken furniture. Shards of glass and pieces of pottery glint in the weeds and rubble next to rotted books and casks. Daran mentions the old man didn't point out any dangers with this smallish building. While the others wait, Daran goes in and starts searching. After a short wait, they hear him make a joyful exclamation. He comes out holding a small wooden case. He turns it to show everyone a gold necklace with a fine emerald pendant. "I think I've finally found it."
"So long as we run not into more spiders." Had been Vondal's only word of complaint. And even then, he sounded almost chipper about things, having not only faced his fear twice over, but acquired something of interest too! When they eventually reach their next destination, Vondal would at least peak inside, before taking up a watchful post outside. "You know, I'm almost hopeful its not yet found. I'm rather curious about this robed-..."The rest dies in his throat, startled as he was from hearing Daran's joy.
When he comes out a short moment later with the case, a bright smile touches his face. "Congrats, Mr. Daran. It is good we have so succeeded!"The smile wanes ever so much as he looks to the rest of the village, prior to turning back to Daran. "And I imagine you would be off sooner than later, eh? If so, well...I suppose we should get to it. Though as I was just telling me brothers here, I had hoped to finish cleansing this place of the undead and blights at least. Payback our elder friend across way for the entail. But ah! What say you, my Brothers. I have not forgot Barthen, but I think short of intent to return for the Dragon Hoard, not much would compel a return, I think." This he had turned back to inquiry with the other party members.

Vondal looked as if he didn't know whether to grin and furrow his brow and frown in worry at Karl, so he settled on some weird combination of the two. "Well, it'd be first the undead and any blights that remain. Think of them as... extended warm up, at this point."Vondal replied to Adrom and Karl. "Not to mention, we still have not seen strange folk. So we find and maybe recruit them too -- IN CASE, it is not small one."
Vondal said, looking both wary and hopeful more in Karl's direction. "Could be there here for like reason! And if not, and they seem trouble, we best take care of them before hand, and make sure they not interfere after. Eh? Sound good, ya?"

Daran exchanges a look with Adrom and Vondal and then says, "The old man indicated more zombies around that building." He points toward the next building south on the right of the lane. The party can see a wide chimney and rotted piles of firewood jumbled outside the walls of the sagging building, suggesting that it was a smithy in its day.
Vondal can only muster a tired nod in response to Karl, and then turned to Daran. "Then let that be our next destination! With luck, we may even find something remaining in smithy we can use against the dragon. Something the Humans here weren't quite able to make out with, slim though the chance. Their craft is rarely even close to dwarven standards."He shoots Adrom a sly look as the group hopefully made their way down to the south.

The party walks south, and Daran stops about 20 feet away from the building. "You dwarves are the warriors," he says, clearly wishing to avoid the front line.
“Right you are there laddie” Karl responds as he stomps off to have a look at the building. His impatience to get on and deal with the dragon overcoming his normally cautious approach.
"Some of us more than others." Vondal chuckled as he followed Karl at least ten feet behind. Part of the way is Vonsorm is drawn, but no arrow is readied. Rather, as the dwarves drew closer, he seemed more and more ready to run possibly into the smithy at a moment's notice to cave in some zombie bones.

Adrom chuckles a little bit at Karl last comment and follows them. Still he looks a little bit worried about Karl impatience and whe he is so eager to go after a dragon.
Not seeing any trouble outside, Karl steps inside the building. Almost immediately, two more "piles" begin moving.
Players go first. It's a 40x40 space. Karl's five feet inside the front door, Vondal is 10 feet behind him, Adrom is five feet behind Vondal, and Nif is five feet behind Adrom.

Anyone have a response for Vondal?
(OOC: mutter mutter bloody DDB portal and its instability - I posted yesterday but it didn't go through)
"Right! That's that lot done! Now can we go look for this overgrown flying lizard" Karl exclaims
