Daran, patiently standing on the road in front of the building turns. He points east at a strange, hollowed-out ruin that the road goes right through. "On the other side of that is where the old man indicated the masked people are." He turns and points at a building northeast. "Blights up there." He makes a kind of overhand toss motion. "On the other side of it is another building with zombies." He looks back at Vondal. "Presumably ash zombies." He turns and looks north, jerking his chin toward the hill. "And, of course, the dragon."
Adrom, you have reduced the zombies to ash. Ba dum tss.
The gold dwarf, despite his previous actions regarding the dead, at least started to raise a hand to offer a counterpoint to burning the dead; only to wisely accept the judgement of the cleric. A pensive Vondal eventually nodded and said, "As tempting as it would be to seek out the masked people, as they are the closest, I'd still rather save them for last. At least with the other creatures out of way, we need not worry of them using such as means of escape, /if/ they prove the hostile sort."With his mind made up on that point, exchanges holding his bow in favor of the new shortsword acquire, and moved as if to lead the proverbial charge up towards the hill.

"Probably not a good idea to leave baddies in the rear so we'd better clear out the village before going an' dealin' with the overgrown lizard 'pon yonder 'ill!"Karl says. He turns and says "right let's go chop us some firewood first"as he heads towards the house with the blights.
The group backtracks up the road they just came down. They pass the road heading west, continuing north along the eastern edge of the hill. On the east side of town, the lane opens up to form a small square. Several ruined buildings surround the south side of the square, but a larger, intact structure to the north looks like a barracks. The road continues on southeast and north into the thick woods. In the middle of the square, leaning to one side ever so slightly, is a weathered wooden statue of a warrior clutching a spear and shield.
If only for the sake of thoroughness, an initial sweep with the ruined building to the immediate left of the town square. At least Vondal did so, but is eventually drawn to the statue. After giving it at least a once over, he shakes his head and looks back to the others. "From the top then?" He asked the others, thumbing the barracks. "Could be we find stash of gear and potion, eh?" He adds, grinning faintly, and then trundling his way over to it for a peak inside.
Though if unable due to a similar situation -- like with the tavern before -- he sighs, and just turn to Karl and the rest.

Vondal finds the building between the square and the hill to be a hollowed-out shell full of scrub and nothing else. The leaning statue is ten feet tall, including the base. When Vondal mentions heading toward the northern building, Daran reminds him that the old man had indicated zombies in that area. The barracks appears to have weathered the years better than most buildings in town. Its rooftop features a simple battlement, and arrow-slit windows confirm that it was built to serve as a small keep in times of emergency.
"Hmm.... So, they are there, eh? That gives Vondal idea!" Unless Karl had already bashed his way inside one way or another, the Gold dwarf hustles to whatever door to the building happens to be in view, and fiercely knocks on it; hoping to wake the dead. If after a minute of waiting his knocks aren't met by the sounds of shuffling feet and groans on approaching, only then did he truly step aside for someone else to take point on entering it.

Karl follows Vondal because he knows from experience that the Gold Dwarf will have come up with some daft idea from which he will undoubtedly need rescuing!
Adrom follows the rest of the dwarves, he seems really worried about all the killing dragon talk but he focused on the task at hand and gets ready to burn more ash zombies.
A grinning Vondal gives the door more insistent knocks a few more times, and then steps back. "Alright, Brothers. Ready yourselves! With any luck, our life challenged friends will be bursting their way out right into our waiting blades." He declared as he readied to throw a dagger at the first dead head to exit the building... after hopping back a good 20ft away first!

The party backs up a few paces, their weapons at the ready. They wait. And wait. And wait. Daran calls from about 20 feet away. "What's going on? You know zombies can't open doors, right?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Right! But Warhammers can"Karl yells back and then thinking for a minute "so can boots!" as he kicks down the door {Strength roll = 19} and the door flies off its hinges!!!!!!
(OOC Thanks Daran otherwise we could have all been standing there for a while)
Vondal's shoulders sag in a sigh. "I'd hope they'd bash it down themselves, and save us the trouble!" He calls back to Daran. Despite the set back, which in hindsight, needed at least one more revision to be flawless, the Gold dwarf shifts his stance to be more at the ready to follow in line after Karl. Though after seeing the door fly off its hinges, a silent hope went out for it having at least caught any gathered throng full on.

Nif lets the others do searching whilst he focuses on a more general scout making sure no enemies try and get the jump on them.
