Lorarila looks at Mo as they ask for mind spells and shakes her head. "Not from me, I am more firepower. But with skilled Defenders I can be very helpful to everyone. I am Lorarila, a Sorcerer. It is a wonderful to meet all of you, anyone who is willing to help my home I am happy to meet. I would rather not see what it takes to make the Lizardfolk talk. Would anyone accompany me to see our rooms and start dividing it up?"
OOC: I think everyone understands the deal, but things aren't going the way you specifically want and are feeling ignored. While everyone else has their own way to do things. ICly and OOCly. It'd be a shame if you just left, but it also feels like you've ignored others
Ooc: I don't mind the party doing things but it sounds like they are going to torture and some people aren't for that. Lorarila can be violent and kill but torture is a different matter. I agree to the horse situation, they need to go where they are useful.
We are also a newer group and we are all adjusting to each other and the rp. It is never smooth at the start but gets better with time. So please, take a deep breath and let's all try our best to get along and have fun. Okay buddy bois and girls? We can do this!
OOC: I don't really want to spend time coming up with plans OOC. Do what you think your character would normally do, others will react accordingly to their own characters and the DM will drive the campaign. Why are horses even still being talked about? I hope they all get stolen. I had someone message me because they were disappointed I didn't try for the 4th horse with disadvantage on my turn.
I'm all for get great loot, but the dm will fill in the holes as needed.
"I'll try to help any way I can," Sayre replies to the Sheriff. "I think we have to discuss some things," she adds looking at the party now but to Mo in particular. "The mayor's office is next door correct," she adds pointing before she moves to the door.

Sometimes a Nat 1 tells a better story than a Nat 20 ever could.
Payne will turn and look to Sayre. "I'm think the mayor was hoping to see all of you at once... If you don't want to speak with the prisoner now I can take you to him.. the prisoner isn't going anywhere anyway.
Mo nods his head, "Yes, you keep lizard man on time-out for a while, let him think about what he did. Mo wants to show everybody something he found without any bad dudes listening in. Come everyone, to the little mayor man! GROUP WALKING SONG!" and Mo heads out of the cell back outside and towards the mayor's office. All the while playing a beat to match his steps, hoping everyone will follow behind him.
As you all approach the mayors office he is at the door waiting. He will hold the door open and usher you all inside and motion you all to sit down in chairs lined in front of his dest. "I heard you coming. That is quite the drum you have there sir. "He will adjust his monicle now that he no longer has to worry about it vibrating off his face "So, I wanted to offer the five of you a chance to make a difference here in the village of Black Oak." The gnome will sit back in his chair and place his hands behind his head. "As you all may know, my name is Wilfred Higgins and I would like to provide each of you with a place to stay, free of charge. Leadbelly's was a fine astablishment for a number of years. It was built like a fortress yet the attention to detail was second to none. Mr. Leadbelly built the inn with his own two hands and the help of my grandfather. He loved that place and the town loved him.... we don't know why he left. He told us he was planning to leave for a week and would return with the love of his life who lived a few towns away..... that was 7 years ago. " The gnome will lean forward over his desk, locking eyes with each of you. "I would like to start by paying you each 100 gold. I want you to find a way into the Leadbelly's bed and beers inn, clear out any critters that have taken up residence in there... and make that your base of operations until we put an end to the bloodscales. Once you have cleared it out, I will send in the village carpenter to clean the place up for you. As you continue to do jobs I am sure he would love to add some extra rooms and features to the inn to help you with your mission if you have the gold to pay for it. So... do we have a deal? The gnome is practically laying on his desk at this point extending his arm out to each of you.
Mo will reach out to shake his hand, although his giant hands almost cover the gnomes whole arm up to his elbow. He will give a very gentle shake as to not hurt him. "Sure, we can go do that. Sounds like no problem to Mo. Then after we can talk about those BSers evil plan.." and he'll drop the note and the map on his desk.
"Not quite the follow-up had been expecting, but... Sir? You got yourself a deal." He nearly takes in Higgins whole arm and gives a shake. A gentle one by human standards at least, having reminded himself of the incident with the Elf. "Navek Storyteller Elanvole, at your service." He lets go and sits back, relaxing for a time while everyone gave their answers. He caught some names, but the moment to reply in kind wasn't always right for it alas. The whole time he hasn't stopped at least grinning as his thoughts flirted with ideas for the future.
"I'm... gonna wanna know more about these critters. I've heard stories once of a mansion once infected with animated with Trogs once. Nasty customers those are, or... so I've heard. Haven't had the pleasure of meeting one myself. But I'm sure they would make for an interesting story if I ever did." Navek trails off near the end as his attention turns to the note. "Was hoping to get a letter out, but... that can wait. What's all this?" He asks as he goes to pick up and read the note aloud (if noone beats him to it).

"Sayre Nygaard sir," Sayre replies to the gnome then nods at the two goliaths with a smile at each mountain if a man. "I too would like to offer my help," she adds shaking the gnome's hand.
Sayre then waits for the letter to be read aloud with a curious expression.
OOC: BSers...lolz Any luck on getting an idea at the state of the jail or office meant to ask! I can roll but general impression from PP is fine too. Tidy? Chaos? Are they professional or like fly by the seat of their pants? Also would we know how big the city guard was before they buggared off?
(you could ask them about the number of city guard if you like but it looked like there were lockers for about a a dozen empty foot lockers in the jail. both building are nice and we'll kept. the jail is an overall more sturdy construction where the Mayors place has a much higher level of detail and embeleshments on the desks, chairs, and other features. His office appears to be fairly organized)
Thimbol clambered into a chair, adjusting himself a bit and finding a comfortable position to sit before looking toward the mayor for what the gnome had to say. It all sounded quite appealing. Room, gold, an end to the bloodscales… But the halfling knew the people in this room as much as he knew what his weight in gold looked like or at least one of the goliaths weight in gold... Glancing left and right to each person gathered as he thought what it would mean to be sharing a space with any one of them. Would he have to wake up to drums every morning?
Pushing himself up to stand on his chair, "You can always count on Thimbol" He says as he reaches out for Wilfred's hand. "Was that a 100 gold now or..." Question fading away as he merely didn't want the payment to be forgotten about, but he knew Wilfred Higgins was a gnome of his word.
Wilfred would look to Thimbol and smile. 100 gold up front for agreeing to help, plus co-ownership of the leadbelly's inn with your companions here. You will also be compensated for every bloodscale you kill and especially any of their leaders. He will pause a moment before continuing I am sure Payne mentioned the lack of city watch recently as well... what that means for you is that many of the town's people have problems that I would appreciate if you could solve. If they cannot pay you for your good deeds, let me know and I may be able to come up with a reward myself if you have earned one.
After a moment Mayor Higgins will look down at his desk and unfold the map and letter. Leaving them both face up on the desk for everyone to see.
The map - The map is of the village of Black Oak village as well as some of the black oak forest and adjoining swamp. The map appears to have been hand drawn and is fairly detailed. It shows the locations of all the major stores and buildings inside of the Town of Black Oak. A red x appears to show the location of the speech earlier today. the map also contains a number of paths leading out of Black Oak and into the surrounding forest. One path in particular is much more detailed and seems to go farther into Black Oak Swamp. There is a small circle just north of the path leading to the swamp that appears to indicate some kind of camp.
The Letter - You have each been paid half your shares and will receive the second half once the Mayor is dead. Make sure that the town knows that the Bloodscales are in control once and for all. Make sure you are not followed once your mission is complete. We don't need anyone spoiling our plans before we are ready. If they mayor is not dead within the next 72 hours, consider yourselves to be dead men.

"Not this one. Just arrived earlier today when I got word of the problems the fine folk here have been facing. And seeing as I wasn't ready to retire just yet, thought I'd lend a hand. Plus..."Navek just shakes his head after a moment's pause, and leans back into his seat.
"Well, Mayor. 'less those fine gentlemen were allowed to get reinforcements for just such an event as this, it looks as if just the one that got away is what we got to worry about. At least for the next couple of days."
