Okay if two of you are letting him go than he is going. I assume you're all following, but let me know if you hang back for some reason.
As you come up the stairs there is a curtain hanging over the doorway into a large room. In the middle of the room is a muscular half-orc in dingy robes standing with his foot on the chest of a male human with wavy red-blond hair who matches the description of Floon you were given. Fire burns around the orc’s clenched fist, and Floon cries and squirms helplessly beneath him.
Seated on a raised platform to the south is a nightmarish figure wearing black robes. It has large white eyes and rubbery purple skin, with four tentacles encircling its inhuman mouth. It cradles and gently caresses what looks like a disembodied brain with feet.
Ranaer yells, "Floon!" and to the the half-orc, "Let him go!" and he rushes in.
Dihek'nir quickly assesses the situation and decides to see if the situation can be improved. He says, "You there, I know you!" to the half-orc, casting Charm Person (wisdom save 12.. and I don't think we're actively in a fight yet).

*Kay i'm just going to say that Ranaer is at the top of the order but held his action until he saw what was going on.**
Ranaer runs up and slashes at the Half-orc standing over his friend. - Attack: 20 Damage: 6
**I'm also going to do Karugur's move because I'm not sure if Happy-potato is around atm**
Greataxe at the Badd Half-orc - Attack: 25 Damage: 11 - The Axe swings right through the robed half-orc and he falls down dead.
The Mind Flayer rises from his seat and throws the brain-thing onto the floor in between you all and him. "Fools!" and he takes off running into the next room.
The Brain-Thing takes a swipe with it's claws at Karugur - Attack: 23 Damage: 5 - and also attacks Gendal psychically. (Gendal make a DC12 Int Sav Throw)

Gendal you take 13 psychic damage,
And also i'm rolling this: 11 -- annnnnndddd, you're fine.
well, not fine, you are unconscious
and maybe completely dead....? let me read the rules.
**shit, that was exactly enough to take you to 0 and still have your max HP left over, leaving you totally dead. Somebody tel me how i am wrong, its happened before.
**if you take damage over 0 that would exceed your maximum HP total you die immediatly. So if I have 10 HP and get hit for 20 damage I think I am just dead dead..**
When you drop to 0 hit points, you either die outright or fall unconscious, as explained in the following sections.
Instant Death
Massive damage can kill you instantly. When damage reduces you to 0 hit points and there is damage remaining, you die if the remaining damage equals or exceeds your hit point maximum.
For example, a cleric with a maximum of 12 hit points currently has 6 hit points. If she takes 18 damage from an attack, she is reduced to 0 hit points, but 12 damage remains. Because the remaining damage equals her hit point maximum, the cleric dies.

**Just seeing before i post anything else if anyone is stopping him?**
SP is going to let him run in, he can be a distraction since he doesn't mean anything to SP

Dihek'nir you recognize it from the Volos book, it is indeed a Mind F layer. Nobody has attacked anybody yet, so sure, lets see how this goes.
Half-Orc Wis Save: 14
The Half-Orc shakes his head a bit, "What? I don't know you, how did you all get in here?"
The Mind Flayer yells to the Half-orc, What is the meaning of this Grum’shar? Deal with these pests."
and Grum'shar launches a [spell]Fire bolt at Dihek'nir.
Attack: 14 Damage: 9 - that his Dihek'nir and he goes down
**SP is up, then Karugur**
"I feel like fighting a mind flayer is above my pay grade"
SP will attempt to move up and sink two short swords into the back of the half-orc

****I don't know if it has to be equal to hit point max or over.... time to research!***
