Enjoying the drink more than he thought he would Gargan continues chatting away with Yagra freely.
For my own reference 1
With the drink starting to get the better of his judgement he answers more freely than he would have meant to. “Oh just some poor sod who got themselves lost down there, but it paid well so I didn’t complain. Especially after I acquired the Mages spellbook.”
"Well these rich folk... they get themselves in over their own heads some times. Especially the filthy rich ones. I've been known to ... encourage that behaviour in the past. Who was it .. anyone well known?"
More refilling, more drinking. More glass clinking.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Jack
Wis. Save(DC 15): 18.
Between casually nursing her drink and keeping an eye on the elf, Jack was quickly and most assuredly... becoming antsy. So much so, she glanced around to see if anyone was paying attention as she tried slipping a thin coil of copper around a hand. Then covering her mouth with the same coiled hand and whispers into it.
"Psst! Look to your left. My Names Jack, what's your name?" She asks in her message to Yagra's elf buddy. As soon as he looks in her direction, she tries to effect a seductive smile after lowering a hand.
Drinking another glass gladly Gargan lets out a belch which is accidentally accompanied by a tiny spray of acid onto the bar. It sizzles out almost immediately leaving only a faint discolouration in the wooden surface. He chuckles as he continues “Oh dear! Pardon me, how rude of me!”
6
“No no, no one of any import and definitely no one anyone has ever heard of for sure. I can’t even remember his name properly come to think of it. Froon? No matter. You seem to be going awful light on the tales yourself friend. Come, tell me of your run ins with the Xanathar’s! I’m sure it will be quite intriguing.”
The Tabaxi slowly approaches Gargan and Yagra, quietly muttering under his breath as he gets closer. Once he reaches Gargan he finishes his spell (invisibility) and grabs the Dragonborn by the shoulder and pulls him backwards away from the bar, he will then take the vacated space next to Yagra and motion to Durnan for a drink. He'll only pause a moment then mutter loud enough for Yagra to hear something about slow service and then he'll walk away - pushing the invisible Gargan back towards the table where Jack sits.
Assuming he gets away with it, once back at the table he will turn to where he assumes the Dragonborn is and says "Calm your self Gargan, you are invisible now for the next hour, perhaps it will give you time to sober up....this is Jack, an associate of Sizan's and another Harper apparently." and he sort of looks at Jack and kind of shrugs.
Yagra sits in thought for a few seconds after asking her for some of her own stories. She tosses back yet another drink and then turns as if to start talking only to find Gargan isn't there. She starts, looks around the room, then back down into her glass. She grabs the bottle and holds it up to examine the label, and then looks around the room again. She yells out at Durnan and waves him over, leaning in to speak quietly "Hey .. what happened to the lizard man I was talking to?". Now Durnan, having watched this entire exchange for the last little while, including watching Gargan get spirited away by Cloudfur, is never one to pass up an opportunity. He looks up at Yagra and says "Ach! Ah dunna what ye're talkin' 'boot. But ya owe me 5 gold for that there bottle ye've almost finished off! Pretty strong strong stuff there .. can't believe yer still upright but ye're obviously seein' thangs!
Meanwhile, the elf in the corner stops and looks directly at Jack. He gets up, walks over and leans in close. "None of your concern, unless of course you're looking for trouble. Your friends here think they're clever but I'm sure Yagra will be fairly displeased later when I tell her she was swindled. My advice? I'd be scarce around this place for a while. A long while."
Without waiting for a response, he walks back to his table and retakes his seat.
Gargan suddenly finds himself looking at the bar from a couple of tables away completely perplexed by the situation. He stands for a long moment as he watches Cloudfur leave the bar from where he was sure he was sitting just a moment ago. He then watches as Durnan tells Yagra that she must be seeing things.
Eventually, as Cloudfur starts shoving him back towards the table he starts to break through the utter confusion of the Tabaxi's rescue attempt...yes that was what it was he suddenly realises. Feeling a bit embarrassed he takes a seat at the table with Cloudfur and looks up at the newcomer and says "Greetings Jack, a pleasure to meet you. My apologies for the circumstances...it's not really my best day I am afraid." He then offers and invisible hand for Jack to shake.
The Tabaxi chuckles when he hears Durnan, then scowls when the Elf approaches the table and shoots a glance towards Jack but holds his tongue. After the Elf walks away he flags down one of the waitstaff and orders a mug of hot water, when it arrives he will pull a small packet out of his pouch and dump some various herbs in to the water and watch them steep, turning the water to a deep shade of red. He'll also stop concentrating on Gargan, who returns to visibility and he'll hand him the cup of tea "perhaps this will help..." and then he will turn to Jack and say "what was that about? I said keep an eye on him, not antagonize him..."
So Gargan's invisbility has worn off. Yagra is still at the bar, and is occasionally looking around, probably trying to figure out if she imagined the whole thing, or had been duped.
Whatever you're going to do you better make it quick! :)
For Jack's part, she went from simply raising a brow as the elf stood up to fussing over furs as he started walking her direction: attempting in perhaps vain to look more presentable. But she tried, nevertheless, and with a smile eagerly lean in in turn. A small twitch in the corner of her lips and furrowed brows betrays her subsequent disappoint from the warning. Over the din of activity, the elf might not catch her sigh as he walks away. Yet, as soon as he was back in his seat, another Message is whispered in his ears.
[That's too bad, though. The only trouble I was looking to find was... the kind involving me screaming your name all night in my room, my little fey. Oh well. I will see to it my friends know to stay away for that time.]She sent along with a lingering impression in the spell, denoting it can be replied to via the same casting. Moments later, she starts out of her entrancement with the elf from the duo arriving and talking of invisibility. Her confusion swiftly turns to amusement hearing the "air" speak. To her credit, she held back on trying to offer a hand to shake until the invisibility ended. "The pleasure is all mines. It is not often dear Sizan makes friends. That I hear he made at least 3 was a especially heartwarming." She admits as much following the shake, and then looks to Cloudfur.
"Antagonize? Since when has a little harmless flirting ever been consider antagonizing? Bah! No real time to answer that. Thanks to you two we need to take our leave 'fore that half-orc woman finds you. A friendly warning from the elf just now, my oh so discrete new friends." At that, she stands up to walk ways, gesturing for them to follow her out the exit. As a matter of caution, Jack makes sure to at least time their exist with the arrival of a particular large group of adventurers.
Taking a sip of the tea Cloudfur has prepared Gargan grimaces at the taste. Giving Cloudfur a slightly sceptical look he then uses prestidigitation to make it a bit sweeter before he downs the rest of the mugs. After letting out a quiet grunt he looks up at Jack and says "Hmm, it sounds as if we have gotten ourselves a little exposed this afternoon. Perhaps we should return the names we have gathered to our employers and avoid any more antagonising for the rest of the day?"
He nods at Gargan and gets up and follows them out of the Yawning Portal. Keeping close to the Dragonborn in case he needs to quickly turn him invisible again.
(OOC - if it becomes a matter of trying to stealth out without being spotted by Yagra etc - I will cast pass without trace on the three of us hehe - I'm full of new tricks now hehe)
Jack pouts at Gargan, but quickly brushes aside the expression once her companions got on the move. "You're welcome to use on a bird as well, assuming you haven't already. That way we can just -- oh, I don't know, hang out? Get to know each other. Go fishing. Steal some things. You know, the usual fair for around here." She suggest on their way out, if not after for the sake of stealth.
(@Tanzier Still very interested to hear the elf's response to her last bit of teasing)

As they depart the Portal and begin heading out Gargan lets out a chuckle at Jack's suggested alternate activities. With a grin he replies "That sounds like a most sensible idea Jack, I believe that I quite like you friend. If you are interested we have been asked to do a little spot of Necromancer hunting at night, we might still have time to rest and prepare before then?"
Cloudfur is keeping an eye on Gargan and wondering when (if?) he should intercede.
