Cloudfur
Cloudfur crinkles up his brow - points his fingers at the necromancer and sends the sphere slamming in to them! (DEX save 12 or take 7 fire damage - half on save)
Then he'll crank his arm back again and try another thorn whip at the necromancer
"Ha hah! Surrender you say? You can't imagine that I would do su... su ..."
The man looks, moving his head from side to side. Slowly, his arms drop to his sides as he accepts that he is clearly outnumbered, and perhaps outclassed. He drops to his knees and his head falls forward in submission without a further word.
Cloudfur looks distraught at not being able to slam in to the necromancer with his flaming sphere and looks around the room for anything else he can attack with it.
Sorry - I messed this up a bit. Kanus - yes, one of the skeletons is affected and is cowering from you outside it's sarcophagus. The other advances toward you and takes a swing but you easily duck out of the way. The necromancer remains still but also does not wave the undead minions off.

Jack
Jack finally whips out her longsword: an all black bladed weapon with a serrated edge and overall form reminiscent of a katana. "No time to steal this time, my love. But could still use the help!"She stage whispers to the blade. A hum begins emanating from the blade, eliciting a grin from Jack as she wades into the thick of things. "Keep your distance, dragon man. Least 'till we sort this out." Side-stepping both orb of fire and allies, she lays into the fearless undead.
(For when her turn comes up?)
Attack: 11 Damage: 7 non-magical slashing.

In the remaining combat the lot of you easily dispatch the two skeletons. The room silent you use some rope to bind the hands of the necromancer and lead him out where you find Sir Ambrose (who probably should have been with you .. really).
You hand the man over to Ambrose, who isn't technically "the authorities", but who will take him to the city watch to be dealt with. Peace will find it's way to the City of the Dead once more.
On returning to Phaulkonmere, Mellanor thanks you for your efforts, and rewards you with 100G each.
Not feeling that the inn would be the best place to be seen right now, you elect to hole up in the manor for the night. You set fires blazing in the fireplaces to keep it warm.
"So this is the famed manor" Kanus put his feet up, "Cozy. Ya know I've done a lot harder jobs to make this kinda money" he bounces the sack of coins up in down in his hand briefly before snatching it and stowing it away.
When they reach the manor, Cloudfur will make a grand gesture for Jack and Kanus who haven't been here yet.
"Welcome to Chauntea's Bosom.....or maybe not....we are still workshopping names for the place. Please pardon the dust, gotta demo to reno. But it is our own corner of Waterdeep now." and he'll bow and open the door for them.
If not bugged about it once things calm down, Jack eventually "remembers" to give Kanu a gold piece. "Compensation, for being late."She expresses flicking the piece to him not long before the step into view of the manor. The sight of which leads to her picking up the pace. "Drafty thing." Jack says in Sizans voice before turning to the others smiling brightly. "I weedle a few things out of our friend last time I saw him. Speaking of which, prolly aughta pay him another visit in a day or two. More importantly... Chauntea's Bosom, hm? Can't say I dislike it."She says stepping inside.

As you are standing in the tavern conversing, the windows rattle as the roar of an explosion fills Trollskull Alley. Charred bodies and anguished screams fly through the air. A thick cloud of acrid smoke billows outward from the blast, which seems to have occurred right outside your door. When you look outside the air is filled with smoke making it difficult to see. Doors open along the street as others look out to find out what happened.
Ok, re: the repairs on the manor - when you arrive you find the beds in place in 4 of the bedrooms. One of them also has a dresser. It looks as if there have been some interior repairs completed, though not a significant amount. There have been no changes on the outside.
You at least have enough that you could comfortably sleep and eat here daily.
Tally's total for the work was 1800-2000g, assuming you wanted something a bit upscale to suit the neighborhood. I don't believe you've spoken to him since he actually came in and saw the place (since the last time you were here was before you set to find the talking horse, which then led you to the scarecrow encounter). His estimate may have changed after seeing it. This amount also does not include supplies and consumables, should you actually want to open the tavern, but it would get it ready in all other ways.
Kanus starts at the sound of the explosion outside, "What the bloody 'ell?!" he quickly grabs his axe and shield and heads for the front of the building, as he opens it and the wave of smoke comes in he gives a slight cough and presses outside. "What sorta trouble we got 'ere?" he says to everyone outside hoping someone might have seen something

Jack
Before the event(Open to all):
Over the course of the four guaranteed days prior to the event, Jack keeps her word about looking into Sizan again. Though she won't return until close to the evening, having admittedly side-tracked herself acquiring or ordering Chain Shirt and Buckler from Embric, as well as pretending to be Sizan and "re-acquire" his Potion of Healing for a cheaper price. There were other little things too; but ultimately, none of it changed the forced smile on her after everyone gathers back at the manor.
Sizan had left with her a letter (to be written up in full later) that goes into describing the debt he felt still owed to them for their sacrifice in bringing them back, and intent not to return anytime soon. If at all. Death had provided clarity to a question he has long since pondered over for a decade. And it was long since time since he focused on finding that answer: alone. He would, however, be in the city for at least until winters break, doing what he could on other jobs to clear up old debts. So, if there was anything not >too< extreme as to risk life and limb that he could help with on the side, then... they'd know how to reach him, and where to find him.
Jack goes further on to say that she paid up for his stay in the Yawning Portal for another two weeks. "I... A-anyways. I forgot to give this last time."She passes on Dori's journal to Cloudfur. "Not sure what tall, grey and handsome ran off to. But I can keep my ears to the ground. Speaking of which. Haven't found a buyer yet, but still looking into it for these two bad boys." Jack breaks out her silver bars. "Thinking if I can't find a buyer in the next day or so, I'll go talk to that fire head guy about maybe get'm smelted onto my sword. Black is nice, but silver? Silver is SO much better."
(@Tanzier: Don't know if you need me to do another check, or to give it more time. But if she can't find a buyer over the remaining two to three days, Jack will try talking to Embric about silvering weapons using the bars.)
Present Time:
Jack falls out of her chair at the noise, and scrambles up beneath the table. "Not again!"Seeing Kanus grab axe and shield and make for the front, she starts to call out for him to wait, only to have to cover her mouth as some of the smoke began drifting inside. Acting instinctively, after the others either go running off outside or just not paying any attention to her, Jack shape changes into a much more taller, tanned skin, and blonde haired female Half-Elf before stepping out herself to survey the scene. The moment she lays eyes on someone fallen but still possibly breathing, she rushes over to start trying to coax back life into them with a few encouraging words(7).

Gargan
Upon returning to the manor Gargan is pleased to see that some progress has been made inside and that they can finally start to use the manor as a residence properly, even if the furnishings are some what basic at present.
As the explosion sounds outside Gargan follows right behind Kanus trying to penetrate the smoke to make some sense of what is going on.

Cloudfur
As the rest head out the door through the smoke, once outside anyone looking back towards the manor would see a spectral flying monkey come out the front door and through the smoke followed closely by a Tabaxi (casting healing spirit) Once outside Cloudfur will assess the injured and send the flying monkey over to them healing them for 6 hp.
The scene is quite chaotic, people emerge from their shops and houses to see what happened and survey the devastation. The flames die down and don't actually set any buildings ablaze, but there is certainly some property damage and also some casualties. The smoke begins to clear, allowing you to gain a full appreciation of the situation.
Surveying the scene you see a number of individuals who appear to have be incapacitated:
1) an elderly female human
2) Two cloaked male humans, wearing leather armor with longswords at their belts.
3) Two female humans and one male half-elf dressed in plain clothes.
4) One male gnome wearing a cloak and clutching a dagger
5) 4 halflings, 2 male, 2 female also in relatively plain clothes. A damaged flute and a fiddle lay nearby.
A number of people have gathered at this point. You can hear whistles in the distance - the sound of city watch being summoned in response.
Kanus rushes out and begins to disarm anyone who is incapacitated starting first with the gnome clutching the dagger as he appears to be the only one who was in fact looking for a fight. Then moves on to the two cloaked male humans and removes their blade from their sheaths. As he moves from person to person he begins to administer lay on hands to insure that nobody dies (1 point per person if they appear to be dieing)
