Jack had returned the look with a 'What? It's a good nickname..' kind of look of her own before having focused on Kanus's answer. For all he easygoingness and bravado, even she cannot help but blush at her teasing being returned in kind; even if only incidentally. "Not familiar." She pipes up. "At least not yet. And as I understood it, he was just being a Samaritan. Which is something there aren't a lot of these days in the City of Splendor." She sighs wistfully and blows a loose look of hair from her vision.
"If you don't know who they are off the top of your head, then let me fill in the blanks. Not that you won't hear about them soon enough while their so riled up with this other not so nice guild. But, the sooner the better, right?" She waves the waitress over (if there is one?) to order a drink, then carries on. "The Zhentarium, The Black Network, or Zhents as most know them as are... not good people, to say the least. They can and do operate above the not-so-good side of things. As their big thing is making coin and making people rely on them. 'cept doing business with them comes at high prices. And they're /not/ above doing some pretty shady shit to get you what you need, or to get things done."
Jack winces and rubs at her stomach. "As you saw. N-not that I owe them or anything like that. Just.. you know.. I just feeling a little... peckish."She waggles her eyebrows. "Plus, I'm a Harper, and it was kind of my job, I guess, to find out what their leader -- one them high elves, I think -- was up to. Either way, he /really/ doesn't like human women apparently. Or was ridiculously offended and playing for my team, if you catch my drift." She gets this real thoughtful look about her as she glances up at the ceiling. "Can elves even be gay?"

Kanus looked confused at first as Cloudfur answered his question, then furrowed his brows, "Wai' a minute you're saying that's all your name? I was thinkin it was the groups name"
When Jack began speaking however he turned his attention back to her. "Ah Zhents yea, makes sense. Probably seen them lot around the Field while I was still fighting." Kanus had saw Jack rubbing her stomach and his eyebrow arched, "Are you still hurt? Waukeen blesses these ol hands, could help, if you'd like" he held up his gloved hands as a faux way of showing himself unarmed and willing to help.
"Of course that is my name, just as he is Gargan of clan Jurnixus from far away Tymanther, and she is Jack Be Nimble of the Harpers....." he states matter-of-factly "though my friends commonly refer to me as Cloudfur." and he'll lean over the table and sniff Kanus.
Kanus would have a couple different smells about him, sweat from a long day of moving about the city, ale from having a good drink from time to time, but also a faint pine scent though the reason for that might not be as apparent.
Jack held up a hand and shakes her head. "Nothing a fine drink and good company won't fix."She gives him a slightly pained but grateful grin before forcing herself to sit up straight in her seat. "Good thing that other job isn't for a few hours... Speaking of which--"She turns and starts batting her eyes at Kanus. Not in a flirty way, for once, but more of a playful one as she reached out to take a hand. "You're not too busy are you? Because we could reeaaally use your help with a possible undead problem later today. I was already kind of the stand-in for one of our mutual friends here. But then the other -- this big, BIG guy named Dorius, I think, he decided to stay behind to look after him. Least for a bit. Sooo, yeah. Having another strong hand around would be most helpful."She admits.
"I-I can't in good honesty promise immediate payment for the job given the nature of a few things. But. BUT! I have some other friends who could get you squared some other way after all is said and done... if your up for it. I.. kind of did drag you away all of sudden."
(@All Hope it's alright the reason I gave for Dori/Eremis disappearance. Not sure if you had something else in mind Tanzier. But I'll adjust accordingly if so.)

(You guys are all awesome. Kanus, you're familiar with the Zhentarim in the way most are, though your experience is a bit more direct that many commoners would appreciate. However, although you've had some basic interactions and been witness to some of their activities, you don't really have any intimate knowledge of the organization or it's members. Just that is a large, fairly well-organized criminal organization. I'm fine with whatever story you want to craft around Dori and Sizaan. We'll revisit them for some .. closure .. before too long
You have the necromancer to deal with, and probably still some attendance to the manor.. and also should probably report what you know back to the Harpers. Let me know what you want to do).
Kanus put his hand in Jacks as she reached out. He listened to her proposition and then smiled, "Well Waukeen bless me, first I run into you lot, then it turns up you's have need of a strong set of hands for pay. What is it that you have need of me Jack be Nimble?" he placed his other free hand on top of hers so that it was cupped within his, not really flirting either but more of a reassurance of his own strength.
Jack closes her eyes in a sigh of relief. "Thank you, Kanus. I promise you won't regret it!" She beams at him, and then a little awkwardly tries to extricate her hands to take her drink. Just as she's about to take a sip however, she stops short and starts fiddling around in her pockets for a paper bird. And if she didn't have one, she'll look to Gargan and Cloudfur. "You still have one of those birdies, don't you? Need to make my report. Though... I guess we /could/ make a stop along the way for it."
She turns back to Kanus. "Sorry. Got a lot on my head at the moment. Uhm... basically, if things go well, it won't be nothing but a couple graverobbers trying to scare people away. And you're pretty intimidating. Way more than us. So with you around, we can probably make this a bloodless thing. And if not, well."She looks sheepisly to her drink. "I'm no stranger to getting punched.. or cut.. so on -- I-I rather not have to, if I don't need to. And I'm sure these fellas feel about the same. So... yeah. If you could help there while we're on the job..." She looks away next, curling a few strands of hair around a finger.

"Indeed, we need to find a knight of Kelemvor by the name of Sir Ambrose Everdawn. He is apparently trying to hunt down a necromancer and could use some assistance. From my experience the followers of Kelemvor can be.......obstinate in their devotion however." he'll turn to Jack "as for those paper birds, I believe we used them all up calling upon favors to save Sizan's life. I am sure Mirt probably has more of them if you need to check in with the Harpers."
(OOC - just out of curiosity - what time of day is it? I think we're supposed to go find Ambrose 'this' evening?)
(I assumed it was evening by now after everything we've been up to in one day!)
Gargan
Nodding as the conversation continues and pleased with their new acquaintance who sounds like he will be quite a useful ally on the field of battle Gargan chips into what Cloudfur is saying. "Indeed, the sun is moving on and it will not be long before we should be meeting with our Sir Everdawn. I'm sure we can report to the Harpers come morn once our other task is complete no?"
(@Air and Cloud Closer to late afternoon, if anything. You guys got a /lotta/ stuff out of the way over the course of the morning.)
Jack
Jack shakes her head 'no' and gives a regretful smile. "Information is... kind of a big deal with my friends. Get it too late, and then suddenly -- Bam. Lost an agent or thensome because you weren't warned soon enough, and couldn't plan around it."She admits. "Thaaat said, I don't need to meet with anyone in particular to see something like this is passed along. Just drop it off with the right people. Shouldn't take no more than a few minutes if we go through the right area." As Jack leaned back to start casually nursing her drink, she looks around to see if she recognizes any unbusy cellmates or fellow >true< Harper agents that could potentially pass along the info in the cauldron.
Otherwise, it is back to plan 'look out for a drop' location.

Cloudfur produces some flame at the tip of his finger and lights his pipe. Greenish smoke rises from it in wisps and the air is filled with the scent of exotic spices mixed with undertones of rum and mahogany.
Kanus sat back and watched as the others talked of paper birds and communications. Some sort of magic, he surmised. He took the moment to pull out his wineskin and draw in a large gulp of water. 'Defeating a necromancer, or even just a bunch of gravediggers will be no easy task. But I"m sure the pay will be good, moreso than what I was getting protecting those lads down by the docks.'
Kanus replaced his waterskin back in his pack and instead brought out a cloth covered in polish and began to work it over his shield, allowing the shine to come through even more if it was even possible.
"Oh me?" Kanus said not looking up from his shield, "Just an ol' fighter from the Fields of Triumph turned to the service of Waukeen." he looked up at Cloudfur, taking in the manner of cat, Waterdeep really was a city of splendors, "I guess you'd say right place right time, I was on my way to get a drink when I noticed them jump Jack. Never was one to stand by while a fight was happening, especially when it didn't look very fair, and in my old age I find the protection of beauty to be worth the time...even if there was no money to be made directly"
Kanus looked back to his shield and finished polishing the section he had been working on, he set it back beside him leaning against his chair and put the rag away. "I feel though that Waukeen has led me to a partnership in you three that will be quite lucrative."
"I hate to disappoint you or your god, but our current partnership is not very lucrative, you see we recently acquired a manor here in Waterdeep that is, shall we say, in less than presentable condition. And because of that, our renovations are becoming expensive, though it does have a kitchen and a common room that could be turned to profit eventually once repairs are finished." *puff* *puff* "there is however other potential avenues for profit we are looking in to as well."
"Well, if I think through this it becomes even more lucrative. If I help you guys with the other potential avenues for profit maybe I can invest in your manor. That would help all involved" Kanus nodded along with his own words as if agreeing with himself, "Would be nice to have stake in the city..."
