Listening intently to Kanus talk of himself mention of Waukeen several times peaks Gargan's interest. "I'm sure there would be many benefits to having a warrior dedicated to Waukeen as a partner in our new venture for sure! And you seem like more than capable yourself. I for one am glad to have you on board friend."
Turning to Jack he then brings up their earlier encounter "So, I would be most keen to know what manner of talents you posses my friend. It is no mean feat to see through magical darkness such as I brought down upon us."
"I am familiar with the followers of Waukeen, there is a permanent temple devoted to the Golden Lady in the town of Saradush near where my clan is from. She seems and odd choice for a paladin to follow, though your comments about pay and lucrative prospects tends to lead me to understanding your interest in her." and he will smile at Kanus.
"We are by no means wealthy yet....however. Unless you include enemies, then I fear we are richer than even the masked lords of Waterdeep!" and he'll let out a laugh and slap a paw on the table.
Though listening intently as well, Jack had taken to writing something down in the interim from having caught something or -one earlier. Her cheeks again had turned crimson at the mention of 'beauty', but she held her tongue and studiously avoided looking at the elder gentleman. "Lots of talents. Not as many as I'd like to possess one day, but lots of'em all the same. Can't take credit for it all though. Like the trick with the darkness. I just asked Mr. Bix if I could borrow his eyes for a while. Sort of."She says without looking up from her note at first. "Technically, their -my- eyes now. But that's neither here or there." She looks up and hums to herself for a moment. "I can see if something's magical at a glance too. And I've been told that sometimes my words and songs can be quite 'uplifting' too."
A faint smile graces her lips. While trying her best to mimic Cloudfur's posture she says in the tabaxi's voice, "Jack has many, MANY other talents as well. But a Lady cannot give way all her secrets."She looks to Gargan next with a broad, toothy smile. Then in his voice she adds,"What of you, little dragon? Are you a conjurer of cheap tricks like myself? Or are you a sorcerer of some sort? For you are certainly not a proper wizard."
Kanus nodded to Cloudfur, "We live in a world driven by the gold coin." Kanus stopped for a moment, "She saved me from the pits, and now I serve 'er. Best deal I've ever made"
When Jack began doing magical impersonations of the others he began to chuckle, "Ha! Now that's enjoyable. Do me next" he gave a small wink to Jack letting her know it would all be in good fun.
Trying to make sense of Jacks cryptic answer Gargan can't help but let out a chuckle as she impersonates himself and Cloudfur beautifully.
"Interesting talent you have there, and I'm sure there are many many more! And Mr Kanus that does indeed sound like a bargain worth making. My own power comes from my blood..." as he continues his gaze wanders off into the distance and his voice turns quieter with a hint of melancholy "and there's no avoiding a power like that is there."
Jack had nodded agreement, but took her time in mulling over what she wanted to say. Then it hits her. After sliding out a toy wooden dagger from a pocket, and giving it a few twirls, she makes to stab it business end into the table. For a moment, her attention wavers to Gargan before her expression hardens again while staring daggers at Kanus. "Next time I'll deflate both your balls." She said in his voice. There's a moments pause. Then she winks, and with snicker leans back in her seat again.
"There's ways plenty of ways to avoid using power like that, if that's what'cha mean. But most folk don't take the option because it means giving up or denying a part of what makesthem... them. Which isn't always a bad thing depending on how one looks at it. Same for getting 'rid' of it. Though.. the last one usually comes at a pretty steep price in the stories." She shrugs at that. "In the end, it's up to you what you decide to do with what'cha got. Don't let know one tell ya different, my dragon." The last phrase comes out in a different voice, feminine still, but light and supernaturally alluring for a moment.

Jack - looking around you don't see anyone familiar to you. However, knowing this is a place friendly to the Harper's you feel fairly confident that if a message was written and entrusted to the proprietor, he would likely be able to get it to the right place. However, you also are aware that passing any sensitive information in this manner is probably not the best decision.

Jack
Jack sees to it that her message is passed along to the proprietor to her handler (or Mirt, if more appropriate). Content to while away at least an hour more to rest and recuperate, her thoughts turn towards where in the city it would be most appropriate meet her contact for an update. And the graveyard too!
Details for Tanz:
Nothing too sensitive. Just her intent to further vet and recruit one "Kanus" to the job, but going into no details of the original job. She puts in a request for a little 'bird' as well to be, if there's any to spare.
Short Rest Die: 5 HP regained.
(@Tanzier Shoot the Breeze/Short Rest at the Cauldron until its close to time to make for the graveyard... Though I suppose we need to go asking around for that? Or would it be easy enough without an involved investigation check?)
Kanus busted out laughing at Jack's impersonation of him, "That's about it!" he said inbetween laughs. He then ordered another drink for him and the table. "Might as well have a drink while we wait ya?"
OOC: Kanus is fine chilling and spitting wind until time to head to the graveyard.
Jack leaves his note with the bartender who agrees to get to the right people. After some R&R, food and drink you set out to meet Ambrose. As night falls you reach one of the gates, finding him just outside preparing for his evening activities. As you approach he holds one hand up, the other on the hilt of his blade:
"Hail citizens - you'll find naught but trouble in there at this time of night. Suspicious goings on right now. Best to head back to town if you know what's best for you!"
Still puffing on his pipe as they walk through the city towards the gate he hears who he assumes is Sir Ambrose call out to them and replies.
"Calm yourself Sir Ambrose, there is no need to introduce us to your Lord Kelemvor this night. We have heard you may be in need of able bodies to assist in your apprehension of a rogue necromancer out here, and as you can see, my friends and I are quite that..."
Kanus, still feeling the warm buzz left behind by the ale(s) they had at the tavern a bit ago, chuckled at Cloudfurs comment, "I don't plan on meeting Kelemvor till I'm old fat and rich, and even then...might not" he shrugged as if dying was a choice he hadn't decided on quite yet.
Jack, having been distracted by looking for places to drop off a more full report, starts at the announcement, and stood in mute surprise behind the others. As the shock fades a more mindful Jack adjusted her furs and coat to look more professional, while subsequently further hiding the exact form of the katana at her side. "You can count on us! … But uhm… You wouldn't have to have any spare bucklers on hand?"She smile sheepishly at the man.

Ambrose seems to relax a little bit, but not entirely. "Sent by who? I made no requests for assistance and though I could perhaps use it, I don't want to put people in danger un-necessarily."

"I am known as The High Winds Upon The Mountain Flow Through His Cloudfur, a humble druid of Silvanus and certainly no friend to those who would pervert the natural order to their bidding....."
[Persuasion: 15]
and he will incline his head and smile between puffs of fragrant smoke to Lord Ambrose
Ambrose finally seems to relax. "Hm. Well .. well listen I could use the help as I've had little luck so far. There have been several incidents with Skeletons rising up and attacking. I've fended off about 5 of them on 3 separate nights. No sign of the one responsible for their animation though. If you would help, then I would ask that tonight, and for the next 10 nights, you would camp with me in hopes of finding this fiend, or eliminating enough of their creations that they move on. What say you?"
Looking particularly intrigued at Ambroses words Gargan nods in agreement to him. "That sounds reasonable to me. I am Gargan, of clan Jurnixus, pleased to make your acquaintance Sir Everdawn. Five in three nights you say? This necromancer appears to be quite prolific already. I feel that the sooner we might locate them the better all would be served, with the five of us together perhaps we can deduce where they are carrying out their necromantic work."
As he finishes he lifts his hand to his chin for a moment as he thinks, before asking Ambrose a question: "Where did you encounter the skeletons you fought previously? Perhaps there is a clue in the pattern of their appearance we can use."
Kanus nodded along with Ambrose's words. "Skeletons eh? What a nuisance. I have a particular set of skills that might be able to hunt down these undead, but 10 days work, what have ye in the way of coin to reimburse us for that task?"
OOC: I am not sure because I am coming in late whether payment for helping Ambrose has already been agreed to, I think Jack may have mentioned she'd get me "reimbursed" for helping, but Kanus is the kinda guy that would ask either way :)
Jack grimaces, both seeming from Kanus' comment and the talk of 10 nights worth of work. "I'm with Gargan on this one." She admits as much. "Not that I mind the whole camping out business, buuuut there's at least one thing come tomorrow morning that I /have/ to see through. And I don't know how long it'll take." Jack then turns to Kanus and starts to wind up a punch for the shoulder, only to catch herself and huff. "Don't be rude. 'sides, I already said I see that you'd be compensated."
