Devin sneaks in and casts his spell {DC 16[Wis] = 9} which and then quickly backpeddles 25 feet. Is it enough?
Ebonitus calls upon the power of the Earth Mother and a giant spectral hammer smashes into the tentacle holding him but it is not sufficient to break the tentacle. The Hammer comes swing back and {I don't know} Lukian has duck as it goes swinging past.
Suddenly Lukian disappears and then reappears closer to the entrance of the cave.
Much to the party's horror another tentacle grows from close to where the tentacle holding Toruun had been attached and snakes towards him and Attack: 21 Damage: 0. It then sends another whipping towards him Attack: 14 Damage: 0. This too misses.
The creature then sends two more tentacles whipping towards Devin who unfortunately had not retreated out of range {First tentacle = Attack: 16 Damage: 0} and {Second tentacle = Attack: 11 Damage: 0}. The first tentacle wraps around his waist and much to his horror Devin finds himself - despite his best efforts - being dragged towards the creatures mouth.
The creature then opens its maw and bites at [1-2 Devin, 3-4 D.O.R.K. 5-6 Ebonitus) [2] Ebonitus {Attack: 18 Damage: 21} who bleeding badly from several deep wounds collapses and no longer struggles in the creatures tentacles.
D.O.R.K., Vark, Beedo, Toruum and Devin you're up in that order. (Yellow square means the character (Devin, D.O.R.K and Ebonitus) is restrained by a tentacle)

D.O.R.K's Turn:
Seeing Ebon fall this time around, D.O.R.K calls out in warning, "We must end this quickly. Use the more surefire ways of harming it."Aftwards, she calls out Ebon's name with such conviction as to stir the spirit of the warrior within to keep fighting. Turning on the creature, and at the cost of dropping her axe, D.O.R.K struggled, but eventually traced the symbol on her forehead, summoning the divine artillery fire from the nothingness.
Action: Cast (Cantrip)Holy Artillery(Dex 14) on the creature's main body or take 7 radiant damage.
Bonus Action: Cast (1st level)Healing Word on Ebonitus, restoring 5 HP.
Vark's Turn:
Vark grits his teeth, but would continue to follow his directive. Even as the occasional glimpse of a grinning Beedo as he plugged away from safety left him all the more annoyed at the circumstances. Meanwhile...
"Oi! Fook'in drop'em ya dragoon stool look'in manger! For your eye be not only da one take'n from ya!" He declared as he again tried fire for the eye, seeing it as the main weak point of the creature. Hit or miss, Beedo dark souls roll more fully out of sight to prepare for another round of attacks.
Action: Shortbow - Attack: 24 Damage: 8 of piercing at creature's main body.
Bonus Action/Movement:Cunning Action - Hide(27) behind stalagmite right beside Vark.
So I'm wondering why my curse didn't work as I thought until I reread the spell. I didn't realize I had to choose one of those choices re the nature of the spell. I thought it did all of them.
So when you asked which ability to effect I thought I had to choose one which the spell does say. But that's not the nature of the spell I was really going for.
Given the choice to choose the nature of the curse I would go with
While cursed, the target must make a Wisdom saving throw at the start of each of its turns. If it fails, it wastes its action that turn doing nothing.
Because that's the one I really wanted. I thought the rest was just icing on the cake. But I was really using the spell to cause it to have a chance of losing it's actions.
But I misread the spell and didn't declare the nature properly. So when you asked which ability to effect I didn't mean to declare that was the nature. I really thought all of those things would happen.
Any chance for a retcon? If you say no that's fine, it's my mistake and I'll own it.

Devin struggles against the tentacle that grabs him. Understanding that he will have a tough time casting most spells and hitting the creature he sends 4 blazing blue darts of energy at the creature.
Lukian speaks another phrase in Elvish, and the symbol of Lathandar on his shield glows for a second before three beams of light are projected at the menace.
Scorching ray attack 1: 12, damage: 8 fire damage; attack 2: 9, damage: 6 fire damage; attack 3: 11, damage: 7 fire damage

Ebonitus, having been brought so close to the creature is in full panic mode and reaches close to the creature and fires a Guiding Bolt at the creatures eye.
Attack: Attack: 7 Damage: 12
(OOC: Disadvantage was included, bless was not. if still active d4 rolled: 3 )
Then he continues to struggle against his bonds.
I assumed the spiritual hammer was not still around, if it is then bonus action is to attack the body of the creature:
Attack: Attack: 18 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll. force damage and bless d4: 3
(disadvantage was included above) damage was 1d8+4, will try again, here - just damage, 6

Once again Ebonitus calls upon the power of the Earth Mother and a flash of light spears forth from his hands. It just misses the creature which is more than can be said for Lukian's which are spectacular but that is about all.
The creature then once again tries to snare Toruun in its tentacles {first tentacle = Attack: 15 Damage: 0} and captures the dwarf around the neck where it drags him closer to its maw. Faced with a choice the creature attempts to bite (1-Devin, 2-D.O.R.K, 3-Ebonitus & 4-Toruun) [1] Devin {Attack: 13 Damage: 25} but [3] in the process snaps several of its teeth off - doing Attack: 4 Damage: 2 - as Devin manages to somehow grab a piece of broken speleothem and shove it into the creatures maw.
D.O.R.K., Vark, Beedo, Toruun and Devin - you're up in that order. Then Ebonitus and Lukian in the next round.

D.O.R.K's Turn:
Seeing few options, D.O.R.K continued to call upon the divine artillery in hopes of wearing the creature down to nothing.
Action: Cast (Cantrip)Holy Artillery(Dex 14) on the creature's main body or take 10 radiant damage.
Vark's Turn:
By this point Vark is visibly sweating bullets, having expected the din of battle to be over by then. The distinct lack of sounds fomr orchish blades having left him further on edge. But on he stood, if but with the added cavaet of focusing for a moment on searching for any sign of their Orcish adversaries trying to sneak up in the gloom.
Meanwhile, Beedo takes his chances in stepping just far enough into view to take not one, but TWO shots this time; having recalled at least some of his training in the heat of the moment once more. And if successful this time, cackles and continues to berate the hardened poop monster.
Action: Attack Using Extra Attack #1 Shortbow - Attack: 13 Damage: 9 of piercing at creature's main body. #2 Shortbow - Attack: 24 Damage: 6 of piercing at creature's main body.
(@all: I keep forgetting that the hirilings have extra attack. Ugh!)
Once again D.O.R.K. Fires for Effect and [11] (OOC: Devin your Dex impact is in effect until the beginning of your next go) and the creature is bathed in red flames.
Vark peers into the darkness and can just make out two more entrances on the west side of the main chamber.
With one hand on the tendril, Torunn makes a chopping motion with his other hand and the spectral forge hammer swings down on the tendril that is grasping him.
Attack: 16 Damage: 8
As he gets pulled closer to the ropers maw, he tries to fire a off balance shot at the Ropers body (Assuming disadvantage).
Despite Toruun's best efforts his spectral hammer misses the tentacle. However Devin calmly calls on the power of Mystara and darts of magical energy pepper the creature which soon stops moving. As it does so its tentacles relax and the rest of the party are freed.
Though battered as she was, as soon as D.O.R.K has been freed of the tentacles, she is picking her axe to cut down the trio of crawlers one at a time if they hadn't reached the safety of the cave ceiling in time. Albeit, if still within sight of the light even from up high, she spends at least a few moments bringing the holy artillery upon their misshapen heads until they were not but corpses.
Only once satisfied in the threat's passing did the red glow finally leave her eyes as she turned to the various wounded. Men wounded... because of her. Again. "Conclusion. We cannot rest here. Unless you all have enough strength to channel miracles, we will fall back to the entrance and rest among the rocks. Observing, and strike when possible. Otherwise, spare the use of a miracles you can muster to treat the most severe damage, then ready yourselves. We will investigate this area--" She gestures over to the southwest in roughly the same direction as Vark resided. "There. Given the strange nature of the creature, it unlikely that our targets will risk straying within its area of influence."
She bows her head. "I am also sorry. It seems I may have miscalculated."
