"Hn..."A wary D.O.R.K backs out the tunnel without taking her eyes off the turn. However, if possible at the half-way point, she lodges her torch in any high enough nook along the cave wall, light up another torch, and then continue on out to the others. "No good. We advance. Vark and Beedo know to keep the exit covered for the time being." She says to others. Afterwards, it is on to the next side passage just to the south and right of the pool at the back of the cave.
"It is most peculiar. We could not have been more than moment's behind them. And based on entail, between their bosses supposed size and numbers, some should have at least been in position to retaliate by now."She adds along the way. Unless her suspicions is proven true along the way or after, again she calls for a company halt as at least she and a motioned to follow Lukian this time advance down much of the second off-shoot tunnel.

When Dork motions for him to go first, Lukian progresses forward, his shield and sword at the ready.
As with the entire cave complex this area is festooned with speleothems. As Lukian edges his way towards the entrance of the second passageway four rubbery tendrils whip out from a large stalagmite targeting (1-2 Lukian or 3-4 D.O.R.K.) [1, 2, 4, 3) Lukian, Lukian, Lukian and Lukian (Attack: 11 Damage: 0, Attack: 19 Damage: 0, Attack: 15 Damage: 0, Attack: 19 Damage: 0
Three of the tentacles whip themselves around Lukian and despite his best efforts drag him towards the stalagmite. As he gets closer a huge eye opens in the stalagmite and a large mouth opens beneath the eye. The gnashing teeth seek to bite down on Lukian's arm Attack: 27 Damage: 49.
Despite the pain from the creatures bite, Lukian is sufficiently lucid to notice around the base of the stalagmite a small skull and a few limb bones, with bits of flesh still attached.
Ebonitus looks on in horror as Lukian is dragged towards the creature and then ...
After Ebonitus' action Lukian who is next can attempt to break out of one of the tentacles (DC 15 Strength).
Ebonitus Exclaims "What the...! Even the rocks are attacking us." He then points his finger at the eye and a streak of light shoots out for the eye of the Stalagmite as he casts Guiding bolt in a second level slot. Attack: 11 Damage: 22 .
"Gah! What is this ..." Lukian exclaims as the tentacles wrap around him and pull him toward the living stalagmite. When he looks and sees the eye opening, he continues, "foul abomination?!" He struggles at his binds, attempting to free himself even as Ebonitus's guiding bolt streaks by him.

As Lukian vainly attempts to free himself from the three tentacles binding him, its other three tentacles snake towards D.O.R.K. and Attack: 9 Damage: 0, Attack: 22 Damage: 0 & Attack: 18 Damage: 0 and two whip themselves around her waist.
Then despite her best efforts the Warforged finds herself being dragged towards the gnashing teeth of the creatures. As she gets closer (1-2 Lukian & 3-4 D.O.R.K.) the creature [2] continues to focus on Lukian Attack: 17 Damage: 17. As the creature opens its mouth to take another bite at Lukian there is a flashs of light and the warm radiance of a spring dawn suffuses the creature. It recoils slightly but continues to bite down on the elf's arm.
With his arm almost completely severed Lukian almost collapses to the ground.

D.O.R.K tries to call upon a javelin of red light, mirroring Ebonitus' Actions, only to have the thrown spell go wide when a tentacle suddenly jerks her form in some random direction. The Original attack roll for the unintended target was a 12 to hit for 19 damage, which doesn't anyone's AC)
(@Grant: Also, I don't see the turn order, but for now assume the goblins maintain their position/active orders.)
In a brave - perhaps somewhat foolishly - D.O.R.K. ignores the tentacles wrapping around her waist. Instead she calls upon the power of the Red Knight but due to the constriction of the tentacles is unable to focus sufficiently to direct the spell towards the target accurately. (OOC - I don't run spell fumbles)
Vark, Beedo, Toruun and Devin - you're up in that order
As the creature is going in for another bite, Lukian yells a short phrase in Elvish, and there is brilliant flash of light as he attempts to blind the roper. (Warding flare; disadvantage imposed on that last attack.)
Also, just to make sure we're on the same page, Lukian has a max HP of 43. The roper bit him for 22 damage, leaving him with 21 HP. The second hit is 20, which means he would have had 1 HP left, right? Hopefully the reaction will stop the second bite.
Though the sounds of battle tempt the goblins, they knew better than to give up their positions. Even so, Vark struggles the most, and wondered -- if but for a moment, and deep, deep, DEEP down -- that was this a test of the Red Lady? Or one of the Big M's to get him to betray their more earthly boss?
Lukian does as instructed, watching the main cave as Dork progresses down the smaller tunnel.
Ebonitus stays close to Lukian, peering intently into the eerie darkness in the diminishing light.

How far down the tunnel does D.O.R.K. proceed. It is only 5 feet wide and runs east for about 25 feet before it appears to turn to the south

About 10 feet away the passageway opens up into a smaller chamber festooned with speleothems.

Torrun just follows keeping his eyes peeled.
Moving with Torunn Devin makes his way into the cave. He moves up behind Lukian and Ebonitus.

Suddenly there is a flash of light and one of the stalagmites lights up. Unfortunately it is not the one that has been biting on Lukian's arm.
