Leon closely inspects Glabbagool to better learn about what this odd, gelatinous cube consists of, and how he could possibly enable a faster mode of travel for it. First, Leon picks up a mushroom that just happened to be growing nearby. Then, he slowly pushes this mushroom into Glabbagool, who just watches silently with his large eyes fixated between Leon and the mushroom. The mushroom quickly dissolves as it passes through Glabbagools 'skin'. Next, Leon asks Stool to identify any Zurkhwood nearby. Not too far back, you did pass some, Stool tells Leon. It's not too long before Leon comes back with a small chunk of the wood-like stalk and tries the same experiment. This time, the Zurkhwood doesn't dissolve instantly, like the frail mushroom did, although as Leon watches closely, it does deteriorate somewhat quickly enough to think that carrying Glabbagool on Zurkhwood is not going to work as a long-term solution.
That and the fact that it looks like he weighs 15 tonnes...
" Hemmy here says there may be a faster if tougher route. At the pace we are going we are darn near fighting every step of the way. It'll save us a weeks worth of travel but it's tough to navigate. Maybe we go faster and glabs catches up at night and reports his findings?"
To glab
"What do you say you rogueish ooze? Ye be spying for us in the rear? Reporting back like a dashing rogue like master Elmo?"
To Elmo
"I be thanking ye for that heroic act of valor ye did back there. Saved the lot of us from some pain and me life for the most part. I be owing ye and that's no doubt. What ye say about glabs? Can he be a rear rogue scout. It be your call I'll not tell you how to suggest he move lad. Ye saved me life so"
(elmo laughs and puts his hand on Grems shoulder) Any time mate! Just figured it was about time this lot saw some real courage and fighting skills for a change! Im just joshing ya mate. I'm surprised that I didn't shite me pants in me act of stupidity. Ye must be rubbing off on me paladin.
After Elmo demonstrates how to perform a rolling maneuver, Glabbagool attempts to do the same. Like a very tall and slowly falling tree that's just been cut down, Glabbagool falls over and hits the cavern floor with a distinctly squishy *thud*. "This is either not going to work as I planned, or it's going to take a significant amount of time to teach...maybe I should switch to teaching 'form of acid d*ck instead..." Elmo thinks quietly to himself, with a rather unsatisfied look on his face.
Glabbagool to Gremryl - "I am not offended should you decide to press ahead. Do not expect that I should catch up so soon, however. Elmo is much faster than I." the gelatinous cube says in a matter of fact sort of way.
After waking up the following morning, Leon approaches Morgana
"Miss Morgana, Stool has informed me that you two are very close. I have been spending some time with him. I hope that is okay. Unfortunately, I cant see here very well and was working with him on a way to see. We were successful. You should as him to show you some time... I mean I have to be there too for it to work but it is an awesome sight. I had a quick question for you though. Do you know how Stool's spores or his magic works?
Packing up their belongings, the group decides they must keep Glabbagool with their party, even at the cost of speed and knowing that the Drow are catching up to them. To help keep the Drow off their trail, the party has decided to take the Silken Paths. Hemeth will guide them using Stool's telepathic spores so as not to make any more noise than they have to. From Hemeth's recollection, it should take about 6 days to reach the Silken Paths. This is day 1.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Elmo waits for Elmo waits for they on to grant him Leon to grant him pass without a trace. Then he begins the hard work of scouting a known dangerous and deadly route. Elmo Lightpocket, Tip of the Spear.
To Leon: "Stool is an impressionable and lost little waif! Anything you can do to help keep him and us alive is fine by me, but don't fill his head full of your dogma and nonsense! And if you do anything to harm him I will ******* end you. Do we understand one another? As to how his spores work, he seems to think that they are an organic part of him and will manifest in different forms as he grows and matures. I've been trying to speed the process along by giving him some insight into the arcane and have gotten him to manipulate minds in different ways thus far. I'm trying to get him to where he can augment my mind tricks and confuse his foes. But what has he done that allows you to see, because I've been thinking about seeing if his ablity to connect our minds psychically could be extended to cover sight IE seeing through the eyes of one another."
Hemeth - "Here's what I know, mixed in with what I've heard of The Silken Paths. They're a vast network of spider webs crisscrossing a 500-foot-deep, 2,000-foot-wide chasm that stretches for nearly five miles! The major strands of webs are traversable, sure, but, due to the fact that old webs eventually become withered strands and break over time and of course you have the giant spiders who actually inhabit the chasm constantly spinning new ones, the Silken Paths are ever-changing..." he's telling you all this as if you were all sitting down by a campfire...very dramatically with many pauses and the tone of his voice rises and falls where you expect it should. He goes on. "The chasm has numerous passages at varying heights leading away from it. It is rare for a web strand to connect one opening with another on the same 'level.' We'll need to follow the sloping strands to reach our intended destination." He pauses there again...for dramatic flair. Then goes on. "This is extremely dangerous! We could easily get lost in the mass of strands that stretch across the chasm...that is...unless..." he pauses indefinitely.
The day is long...the march is hard...and Morgana the Tiefling Sorceress can't stop fiddling with the Barlgura penis...much to everyone else's extreme discomfort. Cavern after cavern, turn after turn, fungal mass after fungal mass...some of you begin to thank the gods for heading towards a different landscape by way of the Silken Paths...others are haunted by the thought of giant spiders and what dangers that may bring the group. Still, you all march on. Just as you all seem to simultaneously come to the decision that it's been a long 8 hours of walking, Elmo comes back with nothing to report other than the dregs of scouting work. Only Glabbagool listens with any true care for Elmo's very important responsibility.
You all spend another Long Rest period in a safe-ish part of the cavern.
Waking up feeling refreshed, you pack up your things and set off once more for the Silken Paths. It's another long day of traversing the Underdark. About mid-way through what you've all grown accustomed to as being a day's pace of walking, you come upon Elmo, who's stopped and once within Stool's telepathy range, tells you that he hears flowing water up ahead! It sounds like a river. He also hears voices...speaking in Dwarven!
"elmo, hurry up, see if ye can make out what they be saying. If its dwarven, I can sneak up there and help ye. I'm something of a rogue meself... back in adbar, I'd sneak into the Ms. stonebread's pantry and have meself 1 or 2 of her famous stone muffins. aye.. sneak in quiet as a mouse in a forge.."
Elmo waits for Leon to cast guidance on him and then decides to try and teach Glab how to roll as a form of transportation

To Hemmeth
As they get ready to head out " What can ye tell us about to Silken path? what can we expect?"

To Morgana- “We will show you the next time we rest if that works for you. Tymora’s blessing upon you.”
Gremryl strokes his beard and munches in a meat snack
"Spiders ye say? Webs? Moradins heartburn... (he swings his mace) well. No sense in standing around then.. master halfing care to lead the way?"
He motions Elmo ahead with his mace.
Elmo departs
“give me about 10 minutes as per usual then follow mates”
elmo sighs and behinds the meticulous and attention demanding work of scouting.
What does the group want to do?!
Leon casts pass without trace once Elmo and the group are in range
Gremryl perks up at the notion of dwarves ahead.
