Aegean slaps his forehead, "Duh, I'm an idiot. Sorry, I'm still getting used to having a familiar." He snaps his fingers and the cat vanishes, then reappears standing by the wall next to the shutoff mechanism. He sits down momentarily while he takes control of the cat to try to reach the mechanism and shut off the weapon.

Finding nothing of interest in the alcove, Aegean turns to kilroy again. "What do you think, drag the other 2 in here then turn the flail back on? Might give them a bit of extra protection, get them out of sight." Assuming Kilroy doesn't object, Aegean moves back into the hall and starts dragging Flare into the alcove. (Figures our healer would be one of the people who goes down so we can't just heal the unconscious people :P)
(Is the part after the sharp right hidden from view of the hall?)
After a long, long walk down the corridor back the way you came, through the northern door in the skeleton room, and down the western hallway, it branches off into an area of the dungeon which you have not yet explored.
(I was about to ask about the summoning cat thing, if it had to be right on top of you. Neat.)

Your cat will have to make a... Sleight of Paw? check to disable the mechanism. :P

Aegean stands and grins at kilroy, motioning with a hand to let the rogue go first.
Holding the rapier at the ready, Killroy slinks into the alcove, eyes keenly absorbing everything beyond the trap.
He spares a glance and a slight nod for the cat.

The alcove turns a sharp right and dead ends.
