As the others discuss about the Feywild and runes, Af sees if there are any tracks of wildlife or other groups that may have passed through.
With the rain still coming down, so the ground is muddied up a bit. Af does make out some older tracks of normal swamp life: frog prints, snake slithers, etc. There are other tracks, not as familiar. Mix of mammal paws and... insect claws? (Maybe a fey creature?) And some prints that, instead of being shaped as a foot, look like someone pulled plant roots out of the ground.
(On the map, in very general terms, the caravan is waiting to the east-southeast, and you are scouting towards the west-northwest.) You do see a few humanoid bootprints that came from the west-northwest (the left path on the map), and then took the path south (the other path that leads to the light).

Katrina closes her eyes, to search her memories for stories she heard about the Feywild. (Elves live a long time and learn much, so organizing thoughts can take time and effort.)
She pieces together that information, with what she has observed. You are not in the Feywild; this still feels like the normal world (prime material plane). There is probably a "gate" of some kind, that is allowing evil things from the Feywild to cross over and inhabit this swamp. The phrase "invasive species" (that she was taught by the hermit Timothy the Pyromancer) comes to mind.
A gate is a tear in reality, highly magical... You haven't come across the gate yet. Even non-spellcasters should feel the "wrongness" of such an object, and not walk into it by accident.
(None of this explains the faint fiendish presence that Reverie felt over the entire swamp. A Feywild spell caster might have summoned something? But that is pure conjecture. Anything summoned from the outer planes would normally be identified by Reverie's Divine Sense.)

Jack is tired of this waiting. It's getting them nowhere. He bangs his drum as loud as he can, getting everyone's attention. "EVERYONE! WE ARE GETTING NOWHERE WITH ALL THIS INESPECTION! The group is headed diagonally southwest, following the humanoid tracks that Af noticed.
As you get closer to the partial cleaning, Froskan has the group slow down. "There is nothing to fear here. That's what scares me." The footprints entering the cleaning are oddly spaced. Looking more closely, Jupiter sees newly grown ivy that these humanoids avoided stepping on. This ivy is thick, around the outside of this circle, with tendrils going up the trees. Following the trail of ivy up into the branches, you can see large tree logs are hidden in the above canopy... Logs falling to the ground would make a lot of noise, so you decide not to trigger the trap ivy. You notice the location of the ivy, verified that there are no other traps or runes, and carefully step past the ivy and through the clearing. (As long as you travel at half speed or slower, you can walk safely. Just don't try to run through this clearing.)
The group now travels 70' to the west (left). You are in a round partial clearing, about 40-50' across. The vegetation is thicker around the edges of the cleaning, and you see a lot of the bushes shaped like people. (Jupiter pokes a few with his spear, but they seem to be just plants.) No trip wires plants or runes that you can see. There is a shallow pool of water, 10' across, a few inches deep. In the center is some sort of gemstone, about the size of an eyeball, that is glowing as bright as a lantern despite the murky swamp water. The footprints that Af noticed lead up to and around the edge of the pool. You don't see any footprints leading away from the clearing.
(On the previous map, the yellow star is the pool of water with the glowing gem underwater. Your group is standing near it.)

Reverie jumps in surprised by the loud banging drum sound from Jack. Her blue-green eyes widen as her gaze would fixate at the bard, listens to his words quietly. "We... will find a safe path, Jack..." Then, she looks at Froskan and Af for a moment before nods slightly. After looking at her allies, she resumes her steps. Once she finds the pool of water nearby, she frowns ever so slightly. A glowing pool of water? "Is everyone all right?"

"Well, we found the source of the light. Now what? Somehow I doubt it's as simple as just walking out and grabbing it..." He looks around to grab a stick or a rock from the ground, then thinks better of it with all the weirdness around. Instead, he holds his hand out in front of him, concentrating for a moment, then murmuring a word. A gemstone, similar to the one in the pool, but not glowing, appears in his hand (Prestidigitation). "Should we see what happens if I toss it in?"
((Sorry about my radio silence, irl stuff got crazy))
As they walk, Katrina slowly untenses. By the time they reach the pool, she relaxes with a sigh. "I don't think we're actually in the Feywilds. More like... apiece of it is in the mortal plane? It does that, sometimes, apparently." With that cleared up, Katrina finally starts paying attention to the group's conversation again. "If you're going to toss that stone in, I think we shoud all stand back as far as we can first, just in case."
Froskan nods, motioning everyone to move back. If they do, he backs up with them to a hopefully safe distance, then tosses the gemstone into the pool (probably summoning a new one first since it only lasts for 6 seconds).

"Plop" Just like tossing a pebble into the water. From the light of the (original) gem, Froskan's trinket sinks to the bottom. After 6 seconds, it disappears. To be certain, Froskan makes another trinket with the cantrip. Same thing... no unusual reaction.

Katrina shrugs, walking confidently toward the water. "Well, it looks like ordinary water to me. Then again, I've never been in the Feywilds personally. Jack smiles when the team listens to him. He didn't think that would work. When they get to the water, Jack is suspicious. To make sure the place is safe, Jack casts Mage hand to grab the gem. "Cautionary measures. It might be attracting monsters or that fiendish presence. Plus, it looks pretty."
