Certainly! Dinner should be ready, and I would be forever in your debt if you could resolve this matter for me and my family.
@Zaroc
The tracks do indeed lead through the gate. It is clear to me that the wolves are entering there. But no wolf i have ever seen can open a gate by itself!
"Doesn't really matter who's letting them in, if we deal with the wolves there will be nothing to let in." Terrance turns to Zaroc "Lets grab a quick bite, then I'll go have a quick look round the fields for any clues as to numbers etc, while you grab the others and we'll meet up at the field."
After enjoying a lovely meal of chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, and pumpkin pie, everyone excuses themselves and agrees to meet in the field to adress the wolf situation as a team.
Ducolis will climb down from the tree to not alert the swarm of bees. "So eh... there is a beehive in the tree. Do you guys want to let it be or clear it out?"
Briar smiles at Ducolis and shakes her head, "I think most things like that less active a night so if they are not stirred up shouldn't be a problem then if we let them be. So I am just going to risk it and stay put and sleep here as planned."
"Bah! What do I know about wolf tracks I'm a ruddy cleric?" Terrance will turn to Hooch, "Do you know what direction they normally come from and what sort of time they normally show up? Because this may be a good opportunity to set some traps and make the job slightly easier." He will also look around the field he is in just to understand the lay of the land. Are there fences or walls, any trees or shrubs nearby, is there a pond for animals to drink from or a water trough, that kind of thing.
Zaroc trots up and says “bees might be less active at night, but not wolves- which, btw there are apparently plenty of in the area”
Briar turns from Ducolis and nods her head at Zaroc, "hopefully the bees if that is what they are will be less active a night but we'll see in any case. Not worth picking up and moving everything now over a what-if scenario. So wolves aplenty are there? And how did you come by this information, or have happened across some tracks or scat? In any case, I imagine that I should collect a bit more firewood and expand the size the of the campfire itself with makeshift torches at the ready."
Briar begins to busy herself with collecting more wood for a fire, etc. as well as making sure to collect any leftover food or food scraps etc. anything that may attract wolves or other scavengers and bury it a safe place at a good distance from the camp itself, several hundred feet at least.
I can only imagine they come through the gate. As soon as your friends get here i will lead you to the gate, where you can certainly set traps, and possibly stake out the area.
*as you look around, you see only wide open fields, with scattered trees. being that it is getting dark, you cannot see far enough to see the fenced area or the gate.
”Wolves are every where, as long as we do what Briar says and add some extra light they shouldn’t bother us. I’m also not worried about the bees, generally if you leave them alone they leave you alone. Is Terrance heading back as well or did he choose to stay with the farmers?”
“Terrence and I dined with the farmers over yonder, and in exchange for food and lodging we said we would try to help with their wolf problem. Figured itd be best to warn you all just in case. I believe Terrence is assisting them right now, actually. We’ll likely sleep at their abode. Shall we meet at the farm housewhen the sun has risin two fingers height in the sky?”
Briar hearing all this from Zaroc without a mention of needing or wanting any help the Hedge Witch just sees the exchange as purely informational and smiles at Zaroc as he is about to leave to head back to Terrance. "Thank you for the warning about the wolves, sounds like you and Terrance have everything well in hand. If you two need some help or run into any problems just give a shout otherwise we will assume when you don't return to the camp that you will both be sleeping in the farmhouse so we meet you out front in the morning. Good hunting..."
Briar turns to gauge the reaction of both Hanzo and Ducolis to see if one or both, intend on following Zaroc on the grand wolf hunt or remaining at camp. Briar herself continues to gather more firewood, expand the campfire as well as hearing more about the wolves, she will also sharpen some shorter branches into stakes and some long branches into pointy make-shift spears to place along the camp perimeter as a defense or deterrent to wild animals such as wolves in a limited U-shape area around the campfire putting the tree to their backs so if pressed or over-ran they can seek to climb up to safety upon the tree branches above the wolves so Briar will also look for the best climbing spot in advance to just be prepared. Putting a few sharped stakes and makeshift torches into an out the way crook of a tree-branch or tied in a bundle and hung (higher) up there in the tree. Just to be prepared and waiting for her (them) in advance... just in case.
When you look at Hanzo you see him begin to assist you in lighting torches and fixing up the camp to help repel the wolves, he too saw the interaction as just informational not a call to arms.
@Zaroc
"Be safe on the hunt, and to echo Briar here if you get into trouble please don't hesitate to shout out. You've both proven to be capable in a fight just be safe, and I hope you got enough rest since the last encounter."
Briar grins at Hanzo, "so no buxom farm maids or grand wolf hunt for you? I appreciate the assistance though, makes this all go so much faster. Nothing too elaborate just enough to dissuade any wayward wolves and offer us a little protection and means of escape up the tree. Do you have any other ideas or suggestions about our fortifications to offer that we could incorporate, I'm all ears as they say?
The Hedge Witch watches Hanzo working to assist her endeavors then over at the old man who seems strangely silent, Briar had expected him to be a bit more talkative but shrugs and turns her attention back to Hanzo and asks, "As a sailor, I imagine your expertise is more to sailing and sea combat. You mentioned that you grew up in the fishing village we are heading to. Did you mostly live there or did you get a chance to travel much into swamps and jungle of the regions?"
Briar projects her thoughts so that only Hanzo can hear,'given there may be wolves about we are going to want to take turns on a watch for safety and I hope you will understand if I may need a bit more time than you sleeping to recover my magic. Also, keep a close eye on the old man, I have a feeling at some point he going to slip away on us or try when he thinks no one is paying attention. I believe much of what he told us but something just doesn't wash and that he is holding something back or maybe its just because he is a bit off, I don't know but help me keep an eye on him and don't trust him with a place on watch on his own.'
@ Salazar "Apparently they have been getting through the gate somehow. I have yet to check it out myself, but Terrence is looking around the perimeter as we speak" He shrugs "I suspect that theres just just hole that the farmer missed or something"
Hmm... are you sure you dont want any help? True if they have been sneaking in through a hole or gap in the fence, then it is probably nothing, but then why would a farmer ask a couple of strangers for help without making sure he needed help in the first place... It could be a much bigger problem than a bum fence...

Survival 17 (To check for tracks and any other information that can be discerned about the wolves from the field.)
@Terrance
You fail to notice any tracks or clues to the whereabouts of the wolves.

If the party doesn’t have anything else to say he will go and join Terrence

From a spot just on the edge of the fire's light, Salazar rubbing his stone necklace under his beard, abruptly interjects...
*Salazar @Zaroc
Wolves you say? And why would a farmer send you on a wild wolf hunt? Are his animals not in a well fenced area?
@ Salazar "Apparently they have been getting through the gate somehow. I have yet to check it out myself, but Terrence is looking around the perimeter as we speak" He shrugs "I suspect that theres just just hole that the farmer missed or something"
