Another detail that I may not have been stressing enough during the battle... when they're hitting you, they're not going for kills. They're trying to capture you. Yestabrod may have slapped Beegred silly, but they're just slaps.
(I think he's waiting for someone or someones to make investigation checks before he finds any loot for us) Skameros is at -1 for investigation so I'd be surprised if he could find his own belly button.
This Garden of Welcome is basically a huge armory if you're willing to take some time to dig in the muck.
HOWEVER! You do not have an unlimited amount of time in the Garden of Welcome. So pick what task(s) you want to do, who searches and what for, or other things you will do to prepare for what comes next.
I have no need for any of those things so anyone else that wants them can have them - Skameros doesn't wear armor and while I think a shortsword with a 10' reach would be funny to see - he'll stick with the greataxe :P
I'd be thrilled to have Beegred use the +2 short sword. But if the party thinks the Bag of Holding is better for the group, I'm fine with that.
If Skameros is able to carry it, he should grab the minotaur's great axe (post 1943 from the official thread). If his weapon gets acid damage, he can switch to the alternate weapon.
Question for DM -- You listed gnolls with longbows. I assume that there are arrows, so Beegred and Eldeth can restock? Are there any quivers in good enough shape to use? (Being able to carry more than 20 arrows would be handy.)

I suppose it wouldn't hurt to carry around another greataxe
and yeah been trying to be conservative with Eldeth's arrows - so if we can find more that's great
though I feel like we've found the safe room before a boss fight in a video game - where they stock you up on supplies before tossing you to the level Boss hehe
No quivers... but there's a bag of holding. The issue the group has (without knowing) is time. Everyone can stock up on something while Rodolfo looks for 'better stuff'.
Yes on longbow arrows, darts... anything of that sort that your members need to restock.
Oh well - should I roll up yet another character then.....I'm starting to dislike this adventure :P
Stuff like this in OOC plz.
And you're not dead yet. I think you'll survive the battle. Then you need to make ONE save before you fail three.
Don't forget we have a healer as well! I have limited enough spell slots that I'm not simply healing people when they get low health because it may or may not matter (could get a bad heal and then they take a big hit and go down anyway, or heal one person who's low and someone else gets it, etc), but I'll absolutely be healing people as soon as they go down to get them back on their feet right away (if someone else doesn't feed them a potion first like in this fight :P)
Assuming whatever happened to me can be fixed with a spell :)
Assuming what happened is a spore disease, Skameros just needs to survive past a long rest. Narstin can get Lesser Restoration to cure the disease.

Jimjar is coming out of his shell, being a productive member of the team!
Spoke too soon.
Ah, it was a LINGERING cloud.. I totally missed that. I guess it's too late to change it now, but a lesson of reading comprehension for me.

Just so you don't feel I railroaded you.... Investigation checks are not the only option to find gear.
Well, I gave it a try with investigation.
Wow... I, the DM, feel disappointed that you're not getting all this stuff...
I should have laid it out before, but the DC's were:
Regardless. I feel bad. So you get to choose what magic item you find:

so is it safe to assume at least Eldeth now has 20 arrows?

Yes, anyone with ammunition can now have one full compliment of ammo.
