Beegred: "Why use gnomes as a measuring stick? Why not halflings?" When reminded that this isn't important (compared to finding the marker), he sulks a bit, but then focuses on the task.
In the main thread, your party has long rested, but please don't take a long rest on your character sheets. The entire trip is being treated as an 'adventuring day'.
However, if you choose, you can use up one of two short rests if taking a short rest allows you to recover expended resources you would like to get back. (I think the only resource spent thus far is Rodolfo casting Spider Climb, so I would say it's not worth it.)
Beegred Thornpost - Lvl 8 Halfling Ranger - Out of the Abyss by Kerrec Drusk - Lvl 8 Half-Orc Life Cleric - The Long Road: Dragon Heist by Mingofaust (player & current DM) Hunferho Aelorothi - Lvl 5 Half-Elf Bard/Rogue - Baldur's Gate: Descent Into Avernus (by Pokepaladdy) DM - Frontier City of Nunkreet (ended)
I had Orubis and Grithik helm the 'navigation' in the first part because your clues on where to start originated from them. But now this new network of caves and tunnels is unexplored by anyone in the party. So tell me who leads the search (survival and/or investigation) to find the next clue or cave containing Entremoch's Boon?
With the ranger skill "Natural Explorer" (mountains & Underdark), Beegred has a +5 for either of those skills.
Probably Rodolfo for Investigation (+7) and Beegred for Survival (+5).

When you make an Intelligence or Wisdom check related to your favored terrain, your proficiency bonus is doubled if you are using a skill that you’re proficient in.
Survival is Wisdom based (by default).
Edit: But oddly, Beegred is not proficient in Survival..
Oops, you are right. I missed the part about requiring proficiency in the skill (Survival) to get the bonus. So he'd have to back up Rodolfo in Investigation (where he does have proficiency).
Also right about Orubis being higher with Survival +6. From post 3580, I wasn't sure if we were supposed to pick among the 3 who weren't involved with the earlier search. If we can pick anyone, then it should be Rodolfo and Orubis.

Yeah, definitely.
Orubis and Grithik continue to lead the search for the Entremoch's Boon markers.
DC 20 (History or Survival) check to find the marker. Two characters roll in place of advantage (only need 1 success, same difference):
On a fail, roll for encounter: 12

Can be anyone. I picked for the first part. Now you can pick for the second part.
Lets do then Rodolfo and Orubis. Finding the door took some investigation and that may continue to be the case going forward as well.
