“Well, let’s see where these beasties are at… “ Thurnir. He starts cautiously moving deeper into the caves toward where the badgers were fleeing from.
Yeah, Thurnir has no prior experience and doesn't know what lies to the south. However, the rest of the party should know. Here's a refresher in case it's needed:
Your party currently finds themselves above the "T" in Distraction. Heading south towards where the badgers came from is going to lead you directly towards the 'sea of oozes' (the area in red) you've all scouted previously. I'm fine if you want to let it happen, but your party would know in advance that will lead to a fight with 'a lot' of oozes/slimes.
I would roll for all 6 cave badgers and treat it as a group check. Not sure what I'll do if there's a tie, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there.
...
Just be aware I don't want combat to always be the solution to every problem/encounter.
The obvious answer would be for Beegred to slay a dissenting cave badger, to break the tie. ("Wadya mean, violence isn't always the solution?")
I'd rather avoid fighting a mob of oozes right now. (Although getting experience to level up would be a reason to do that.) Figure the party is trying to look around for any resources that haven't been discovered yet. Things that might help in a future ooze fight.

Thurnir says”So I be hearin the gnomes talk about this pudding king what be causing a lot of the trouble. I don’t like oozes one bit, mind ye, ‘specially not ones what can think. But mayhap we could find this pudding king and talk or beat some sense into em? You seen em yet? But ye all know who’s about and if we’re no match fer em.”
“We don’t know much about the Pudding King, but he commands a veritable army of slimy oozes. We should continue around and try to avoid the worst of them.” Orubis will lead the team onward (east?) to avoid the sea of slime
(Thurnir will follow the group’s lead. But, not being the sharpest axe in the drawer, his personal opinion would be to just go to the pudding king directly, with subterfuge if possible, or fighting there if not)
To go beyond this chamber, you will have to either:
Walk to the south west of the Gibbering Mouther, bringing you closer to the sea of oozes and whatever consequences that will have,
Walk to the north east (hugging the outer wall) and potentially be noticed by the dozens of oozes you see wandering around,
Walk right through the middle of this new cavern where the Gibbering Mouther is, risking being noticed by the dozens of oozes AND the Gibbering Mouther.
You can't continue exploring towards the south otherwise.
I’m up for anything. I should have prepared “magic weapon”, however. I think that’s our biggest shortcoming for fighting oozes. Soon we will be fighting in our underwear..
Rodolfo wants Skameros (or someone else) to throw something between the oozes and the monster to incite some conflict. He is definitely not able to achieve that himself.

Oh whoops, I thought this was the main thread lol.

On how much ooze could a big slime dine, if on ooze, a big slime would dine?
Ok, what's your plan?

I guess that means my plan won’t work

What about my plan though? To incite conflict between the two sides there
Just in case those posts were directed at me, I have not implied any plan wouldn't work. Tell me what you all want to do.

Checking in again. What's your plan of action?

Yeah I mean if that'll work and not cause them to chase us I can toss a rock or something towards the mouth
